Friend suggested lunch here and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality. Best won ton soup I’ve ever had, the general tso’s and rice cake were excellent, the lemon chicken was bomb, the owner(I’m assuming?) was so sweet. Nothing but good things to say about this place.

I probably never would have found this place if I hadn’t seen the other Unilocal reviews, but I’m so glad I did! The outside of the restaurant looks kind of sketchy however the food and service is excellent! I ordered the general tso’s chicken. It came with fried rice and steamed broccoli for only about $ 9.50. The fried rice appears pale like they might be serving you plain white rice but in reality it is the best fried rice I’ve ever had. We ordered a side of dumplings and they were super flavorful. I also tried the orange beef and egg rolls. Everything was so good. For the price you get about the same amount of food as Panda Express but this place is more authentic and tastes way better. Our server is from Taiwan and he was very attentive and friendly. I will definitely be back!

The best real Chinese food I’ve ever had! I had the triple crown served on a cast iron plate, I normally don’t finish my food but it was so good could not stop until it was all gone !

Great service and great food. I’ve lived all over Brazoria county and none come close to being as authentic as this place for Chinese food. If you get a chance try the BBQ pork buns and the dim sum. My family and I will definitely be back to try more dishes.

This is the best Chinese food in the whole area. I do not know why the place is not packed with people all day long. The owner Patrick is a very nice guy and takes a lot of pride in his food. Once you eat here, you will not go anywhere else!!!

General Tso’s chicken was delicious. Perfect gauge of how good an Asian restaurant is. I played it safe. The spring roll had a little char but was still good. Why haven’t I eaten here before after almost 10 years?

Well I would take a photo, but we ate it right up. My 3 year old loves the egg rolls. Patrick, you said to let you know if you needed to change anything? Not one bit. Honestly we were hesitant to try this place because it seems it is not that busy. Luckily I have a Unilocal account and your restaurant is the only one rated best around Lake Jackson area! I am glad we tried it. General tso absolutely to die for. My husband wouldn’t stop making the mmmh… sound so that says a lot about what he thinks. Keep it up guys!

Don’t go to this place!!! Worst restaurant I have ever been to! The waiter is so so rude. I was the only customer in the restaurant because it is so unpopular that nobody wants to go. I should have noticed this when I entered the restaurant, but I still sit down because it was my first time been here. The restaurant was dark and creepy. Very unfriendly because there are«Don’t touch» notes everywhere, on the vase, fake trees, and many other decorations. I waited for the waiter about 10mins to get my order, surprisingly i was the only one in there. Then i ordered curry chickens and spicy&sour soup. The waiter didn’t take my order, instead he told me that my order was weird and I shouldn’t eat these two dishes… he was so rude and the entire conversation made me feel been threatened.

LOVE, love, love the sesame balls. They are freshly prepared and oh so yummy. I wasn’t too keen on the lo mein noodles, but the other dishes we tried were incredible!

I grew up in Brazoria County and I want to kick myself for not knowing about this place sooner. The food was extraordinary. The owner was very patient and knowledgeable with me because it was my first time and walked me through the menu. I knew from the first taste of my wonton soup with this meal was going to be much better than I had anticipated. Patrick walked me through how to properly eat all my courses and gave me advice about reheating. He even brought me a treat after my meal! 5 stars!!!

All in all the best place to eat in the area, order something other than your normal run of the mill Chinese dishes, as they will be like such, most everything else is phenomenal and you can tell everything is made to order, don’t be afraid to talk to the waiter, once he gets to know you and your tastes you will be blown away

Excellent food, excellent service. Third time here. Today I had the chicken and broccoli, wonton soup, spring roll & fried rice. All amazingly good. I’ve had the General Tso’s chicken before; it was also excellent. The hot & sour soup is unlike any I’ve had before, but still good. What makes the place, aside from the food, is the very friendly, humble, interesting and efficient owner. We’ll definitely return.

Visit on 7÷2÷2015 I am a VERY picky eater so I was a bit nervous about eating here but… THEFOODISAMAZING! A group of 8 of us went for dinner and everyone loved it. We had so many different plates come out and they were nothing short of delicious. All FRESH and with unique flavors! I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Lake Jackson or the surrounding area. The owner served us and explained all the dishes. This is truly an authentic Chinese place and I really, really enjoyed it!

I am not one to like anything that’s very different, but I am thankful I gave this place a chance! Telling you the food was incredible would be an understatement! Try the Swai Fish! Amazing!

I’m in the area 2 – 3 times a year for work. Whenever I’m in town, I make it a point to eat here. I’ve learned to trust Patrick’s recommendations and have not been disappointed.

Do yourself a favor and eat here. The outside of the restaurant doesn’t do this place justice. From the curb you’d never think great food could come out of this building, but it is completely deceiving. The owner frequently talks to his guests, is a wonderful host, and tries hard to make sure everyone who enters his restaurant leaves happy. The food is excellent. I cannot recommend it more.

We came here on Friday 03/27/2015. We are fairly new to the Lake Jackson Area and we loved the food and specially the hospitality offered directly by the owner himself. Food tasted authentic and was noticeably made fresh, not something waiting around the kitchen to be served. A young waitress lady was very attentive, never allowed our drinks to get half full. Definitely recommend the restaurant. The hospitality from the owner is genuine and kind, not something you find everywhere these days. Very happy, we will come back.

Maybe I was expecting a bit much from this place considering the great reviews, but it was just another run-of-the-mill chicken-that-doesn’t-really-taste-like-chicken Chinese restaurant to me. I walked it at about 1:50 on a Friday, was greeted and seated quickly, and I noticed that they had lunch specials available until 2 pm, so I decided to order from these(very reasonably priced) dishes. I decided to play it safe and order General Tsao and was encouraged to give it a try by who I’m assuming is the owner. Some stale-tasting wontons were brought out, which I mostly ignored, and at about 1:56, my food was placed in front of me – Wow! Fast!(and piping hot, too). I enjoyed the sauce in the dish, and the rice was pretty good, too, but the egg roll was greasy, and the chicken was brown and tendon-y(but I’m picky – maybe I should have requested all white meat). If you let them know it’s your first time here, your meal will come with instructions – don’t mix anything with the rice, and don’t dip the roll in sauce. All in all, «meh, I’ve had better,» but it earns an extra star for the speedy and attentive service. Plus, Ghost Whisperer was on tv while I was eating there – I didn’t even know that’s show was still going! And she has a kid now? What? Anyway, I digress… reasonably-priced average-tasting Chinese food served fast and hot in case the craving ever hits you

This restaurant has the best Chinese food I’ve ever had bar none. The food is excellently crafted by a husband and wife from 2 Asian descents. It makes for a Chinese delight nothing short of perfect. If there is a Chinese restaurant out there that is better than this, than I don’t want to go. That is due to the customer appreciation that the family/owner shows. The owner will even pick out a dish for you if you don’t know where to start. I have a deep love for Chinese cuisine, but even I let the owner decide what I eat next every single time. 5 stars

Chinese food doesn’t get any better than this. You’re served personally by the owner(and how many places do that?) some of the best food you’ll have. He’s very friendly and will suggest various things if you’re not sure. My fiancé and I tried the jellyfish and it was still great. If it isn’t busy, Patrick will sometimes talk to you and he’ll tell you all about his cooking experience in Taiwan. It’s wonderful to learn stories from him. The rice is perfect, much better than the soggy, old rice you get from buffets. There’s a wide range of things to try on the menu from steamed pork buns, the jellyfish we had, or general tso’s. It’s one of those wonderful little«mom and pop» restaurants that is much more about the quality and service than just giving you food and taking your money.

Simply put, this place is amazing. Don’t come to this place expecting the standard Chinese buffet. Here they serve authentic Chinese dishes and they cook it for you by the order. This place is owned by a very polite(sometimes abrupt, but it’s in his nature and he means no offense) Chinese man and his wife and they do everything. If you arrive at a busy time it can be a long wait because the owner serves you personally but I believe it’s worth the wait. They treat you like a guest in their home and if you’re lucky and are the only ones there the owner might even bring out complimentary treats to try. I’ve never had a bad experience here and I’d recommend it to anyone. It’s a seriously nice dining experience at a super low cost.

What a great experience we had at Taste of Nation; great service and great food. They cooked our food to order and the way they cook for themselves. Can’t ask for more than that. Makes me sad we are just visiting the area!

My family loves it here. Patrick is a great host, is warm and welcoming, and the food is first rate. The best chinese food this side of Houston. I refuse to share the swai fish with my wife, it’s so good. We have also had their Imperial Dinner, which is a culinary treasure to plan ahead for. It takes an advanced reservation of about a week and a group of 8, however, it’s really worth the effort. You’ll remember it for a long time.

The best authentic Chinese food EVER! Do not let the looks of this place deceive you… Everything is homemade & the dishes/sauces are made right when you order no pre-made stuff here! Their spring rolls are to die for! Their hot n sour soup is out if this world amazing! Excellent service… you will never go thirsty at this little hot spot. The couple who own Taste of Nations know exactly what they are doing & the fact that they make everything from scratch wins big points in my book! If you want amazing food you need to try Taste of Nations!
