The waiters were very knowledgeable and their presentation was very impressive but, as far as the food went well, it wasn’t the best. My wife’s scallops were fresh but my catch #2 was less than to be desired. It was a white fish with brazen beef with a Caribbean jerk rub but, it was not what I was expecting. Coming from Caribbean roots and living in South Florida for a majority of my life I can tell you I have had my fair share of Caribbean food and this did not capture that flavor at all. The food lacked that sweet and spicy flavor of the islands. It was a mixture of bland and sour tastes. Maybe the cook had a bad day but I’ve been to my share of upscale restaurants and this one was less than impressive. I did like the She Crab soup but the chocolate cake flan with dulce de leche was disgustingly sweet. I don’t think I will eat here again.

By far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Our company decided to have a celebratory dinner here and was treated horribly by the manager and owner.

We got the special, scallops, and duck. They all had a lot of flavor and innovative combinations. With so many different parts, we didn’t always know what we were eating, but it was good. It’s a tiny place, but well decorated.

I was at first, put off by the name. A schnook is not a compliment, a Snook is a fish. The food is definitely gourmet. Details are important. The servers really make sure you understand what is being prepared and how. They enjoy having you react positively to the food. We had a memorable meal, our best in this area, by far. The restaurant is small and the acoustics quiet. Thank you for being there.

Absolutely a treat! We both enjoyed everything we tried(catch 1 and catch 2, Thai soup and she crab soup). Our server Chris was great. You will not be disappointed!

The reviews are correct. this is an amazing find. Casual elegance and creative, delicious, well presented food. Our server, Dante, was friendly and professional; attentive but not overdone. Our meals had layered flavors that blended beautifully. This is food done right… really right. We will be back. You should go!

This place is so cute. We made reservations for our anniversary & right as we sat down I noticed a card on the table. The staff had signed a card to give to us! Very sweet! As for the food, if you are a foodie & adventurous with food, this place is a treat. They have some interesting stuff on their menu. We had the crab cake appetizer, lamb chops & grouper for entrees. I liked everything, except I thought the crab cake portion could have been bigger(but I’m really greedy & it really was delicious). The lamb was amazing but I wasn’t a fan of the rice that came with it(I thought it was undercooked while my husband said it was twice cooked– so Idk which 1 of us is right). The grouper was amazing too but I didn’t know half the stuff on my plate so I had to ask the server what it was that I was eating. But everything was still delicious! We also had to try their chocolate dessert & famous key lime pie– both yummy(the chocolate was our fav!). Overall great experience. Service was excellent. I recommend for special dates or a birthday dinner!

This place sounds like the name of a rapper. But it’s not. This restaurant has amazing food. We had the Poblano Key West Pink Shrimp & the Catch #1 which was a Grouper that evening. Both entrees were to die for. So much flavor, and so much going on, yet nothing was too overpowering. The delicate balance of each flavor drew compliments to one another beautifully. We ended with the best Key Lime Pie that I have ever had. And I know my Key Lime Pies. The crust is what makes it so special. As far as atmosphere, personally I think the lights should have been a smidgen more dim, and the music a touch louder. The service was good, our waiter explained everything thoroughly. If you are in Cocoa Beach and looking for a place to go for fine dining, with an incredible innovative menu, this is it.

Wonderful! Thank you Chris, our server. Party of 7(reservation a few days ago– a must!), we enjoyed our meal very much. We had the soups– she-stew & thai soup & crab cake, sliders with foie gras & scallops for starters. Variety of choices for dinner including mahi-mahi, vegetarian beet dish, skirt steak, fresh catch of the day– enjoyed every bit. Very nice welcome back to Coco Beach.

Fantastic dinner and great daily specials. The waiter was knowledgeable of menu items and able to suggest comparable wine to compliment dinner.

This place is wonderful. The service is incredible but the meals are outstanding. Had the crab cake appetizer and the slider with my wife and we had the grits with shrimp and the hanger steak but these plates were elevated to a five star restaurant level. It was so good we came again the following night for dinner. I wish there were more restaurants like this one.

We recently visited friends in Cocoa Beach and had dinner at the Fat Snook — it was a wonderful fine dining experience. We’ve had the opportunity to dine in some of the World’s greatest cities and Fat Snook’s menu, wine list, and service exude the same 5 star qualities as any of the great restaurants in New York, Paris or Rome! With a chic beach-casual atmosphere. If you enjoy surprising food combinations, lovely wine pairings, and an exuberant staff that are friendly, excited and knowledgeable about the food, then be sure to check out this place! Fat Snook is now on our list of «don’t miss» things to do the next time we visit!

Utilized Unilocal reviews while vacationing in Florida. Visited Fat Snook based on its reviews. So glad we did. Restaurant has a very classy yet beachy feel when you walk in the establishment. Very quaint. Friendly greetings from every associate and seated quickly sans a reservation. Our waiter, Chris, was very personable while being thorough. Ordered two appetizers: 1) Blue Crab Wrap-yummy 2) Hawaiian Rolls with shaved coconuts-heavenly. Followed our appetizers with two entrees:1) Fresh Mahi Mahi-delicious 2) Cheddar Grits and Shrimp-equally delicious. Bottom line is this meal was one of the best dining experiences I have had ever. Kudos to all at the Fat Snook. Thanks for a memorable night.

THISPLACEIS A MUSTFORNICEUPSCALEDINNING. Went here with my wife while visiting Cocoa for our nine year anniversary. First off, before even sitting down we were already being told Happy Anniversary. When we got to the table, there was an anniversary card signed by the entire staff. The waiter, Dante, was freakin amazing. Very knowledgable, kind, full of recommendations… exactly what you look for in a waiter. We ordered the chef’s appetizer which was blue crap stuffed in a crêpe with orange reduction sauce– AWESOME! I ordered the Grouper and my wife ordered the scallops. Both were perfectly cooked. Great spin on apple pie with a cheddar ice cream and a great ricotta cheese cake. Perfect finish to an anniversary get away!

Cutest little restaurant, tucked away near South Coco Beach. AMAZING food. I had the blue crab cake, the thai soup(SOOOO good, with some kick) and a few of their desserts. The atmosphere is very cute – dim lighting, cute decorations, etc I would definitely check this place out if you’re in the area. Just a few steps down you have a nice waterfront/dock area where you can watch a gorgeous sunset.

Ring the town bell, wake up the band and fire off the cannons: finally found an outstanding restaurant near Melbourne… well Cocoa Beach. While finding parking on a weekend can be challenging, once inside this is an adorable trendy restaurant that serves great entrees and desserts. What I like about them are the thought, preparation and presentation of each and every dish. My duck breast was perfectly grilled to medium rare and wife’s grouper was carefully layered between greens. Oh, the sugar powdered bacon dessert is just out of this world. To top it off, the service is friendly and as perfect as you can get for the area. While not inexpensive our dinner with gratuity and a decent bottle of white was about $ 100 per person.

We found this place because of the many excellent Unilocal reviews and cars lined up around the block for this restaurant. Given we were only in the area for a long weekend, we committed and made a reservation for four. First, let me say The Fat Snook is for foodies. Every dish is designed with the excruciating detail with many layers of flavor. I didn’t feel this effort reached its mark on every dish. We started with the Florida cheddar cheese plate. Coming from New England, we weren’t impressed and wanted a bit more than one flavor to sample. Three of my party had the roasted beet salad which was great. There’s not much to add other than fresh beet salads are great! I had the Thai style local fish soup and it was very good. We ate three different types of entrees. The scallop dishes were devoured so quickly I barely got a taste; the toasted faro really set it off. One of us had the grouper, one of the fresh catches of the day, and ate it all. I had the deckle steak and after all the hype can say the steak was very good and clearly a cross between the filet and ribeye. The rest of the dish, the egg and potato hash, was too«breakfasty» and left me wanting something more serious. We had a bottle of Martin Ray«synthesis» Cabernet which everyone liked but I found the currant off putting. The regular Cabernet was perfect! Prices were high but expected for such lofty and challenging food. Maybe I’m spoiled by the many excellent food options around Boston, but I would give the Fat Snook a 3.5. My wife gives it a 4, so that’s what it gets.

Probably the best restaurant in the Cocoa Beach area. Fresh, exciting dishes and exemplary service. Five plus stars for service, ambiance, plating, and creative dishes and use of local ingredients. I have eaten here three times while visiting the area and my only wish is for a bit more flavor. The appetizers and entrees I have tried tended to play it a bit safe for my palate. However, I think my dinner guests disagree with me and give the taste 5 stars. The atmosphere is clean, neat, chic, and punctuated with bits of flare. Look for some fun bits of creativity inside and out. If you want to be waited on, truly waited on and cared for, this is the place. The staff knows their menu and work hard to provide their guests with a beautiful dinning experience.

We found this place by chance driving past it. It was a good choice. Very nice place where dressy style would fit best. Very good service and everything we tried on the menu was delicious. Definitely recommend for a romantic dinner.

Incredible dinner here with 3 others. Cocoa Beach really was in dire need for a spot like this: classy, upscale, great wine(from Sonoma almost exclusively), craft beer and incredible seafood. The steaks looked good too, but we were there for the seafood. 2 fresh catches of the day(we had grouper and mahi on our evening) and a variety of shrimp, scallops, salads, steak and a duck dish. I started with the corn chowder(incredible) and the beet salad was deconstructed and devoured. My shrimp over pumpkin grits was incredible. The fresh catch grouper was ordered by 3 in the group and the shrimp and scallop combo over rice was the 4th. A half bottle of wine and we were happy campers. Everything was prepared with love. I can’t wait to go back.
