Great! Ate there tonight, May 29, the Hostess was professional, couldn’t ask for a better server! Will definitely be back when we visit our daughter who lives in the area.

Totally found my new potential favorite restaurant thanks to a quick search on my Unilocal app(I realize how pandering-ly obnoxious that sounds — but its true!!) I LOVED this little gem! On a dreary spring Saturday night, this little gem was a total bright spot. Located next to the Red Lion Inn, Bia was cozy, warm and totally welcoming. We had no trouble parking and you cannot beat the drive through gorgeous Cohasset center to get there. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, informative and knew the specials and the regular menu like the back of her hand. The cocktail menu had just been updated and I couldn’t resist the blood orange ‘rita — it was tart, refreshing and absolutely delicious — could have had several… We started with the chef’s board and could not have been happier. Not only is the selection varied, plentiful and interesting, the house made relishes and mustard, house cured meats, along with the bread basket with an assortment of house made warm, crisp crostini and soft bread made for a very enjoyable«start». We then decided to order our go-to app of mussels in garlic wine sauce and were blown away. The mussels(local from Chatham accord to the waitress) were huge, tender and absolutely to DIE for — the sauce was straw worthy — we settled for more bread to sop it up… Easily the best mussels I can recall ever having. The only downside to all of this — is we were too full to order dinner! We decided to end the decadent meal with something sweetly decadent and split the chocolate lava cake. It was incredibly rich and chocolaty, without being tooth-achingly sweet — worth every last calorie. The restaurant /bar definitely got busier as the evening went on and it made for a nice atmosphere that was romantic(lots of couples) but also casual and fun. There will most certainly be a next time!

Restaurant was cozy. Hanger steak was perfectly prepared and their seasonal bread pudding hit the spot. Had a great meal.

Love it here! Great food, good service, good drinks. Casual but classy and delicious. Was so happy to have a nice dinner here after the previous night at alma nove(terrible). Love Bia bistro! Please bring back the duck pizza!!!

Took my kids out for dinner last night and for the most part the meals were delicious! Second time here and our meals last time were terrific as well. Oysters were fantastic and the atmosphere in the restaurant was lively and homey. My only real complaint was the Chiefs board(meats and cheeses) it was offered at $ 29.00 which is really the most I’ve ever seen for that dish anywhere so I figured«wow for that much money they are really going to pull out the stops! Wrong! It was the worst meat and cheese display I’ve ever seen. 1 meat and 3 small cheeses, a few pickles and that was about it. Felt totally ripped off. Would have made a big deal about it but my kids were getting embarrassed at my dissatisfaction so I let it go. Note to the owners time to up your game on that dish!

Food was delicious. 4 stars because while delicious, the food was not the best ever I’ve ever had and was overpriced(especially appetizers) and it was SO loud. Granted we had a large group but if you’re going here to have a romantic evening you might be disappointed. If you just want good food in a casual upscale bar, you’re going to be happy.

I am sitting here right now, we came in at 5:42 and it’s now 6:52 and we are still waiting on the main course. The appetizers where good 45 minutes ago…

Among the best on the South Shore and even worth a trip from Boston. This is a great restaurant that consistently live up to its many 5-star reviews.

We have never been disappointed at Bia. My husband likes the Portuguese seafood stew and tonight I had the special catch. It was hake over a Thai themed fish stew with grilled bread. Outstanding. We sit at the bar for excellent service and cocktails. Blue cheese stuffed martini olives are delicious. Bartenders are smart and fun.
Time for the seasonal menu change I think? Always interesting.

I love Bia Bistro! Cohasset is lucky to have such a wonderful restaurant downtown. The salmon is always perfectly cooked and the portuguese stew will definitely provide leftovers for the next night. But, the highlight for me is always the balsamic. Bia does a great balsamic reduction which they serve with their bread — just be careful not to fill up before your main course arrives!

We have been going to Bia for a long time. When it first opened, it was excellent in every way. Once the owner started focusing on other restaurants that he opened in the area(which are all very good), the quality at Bia seems to have gone downhill. Here are some of the problems from our most recent visit a few weeks ago: –Waited for an hour despite a reservation — no apologies from anyone. –Entrees took about an hour to be served, drinks ordered were constantly forgotten. –Adding anchovies to the Caesar salad is a $ 3 premium. This is obnoxious. The food overall was very good despite the problems noted above.

Great food, atmosphere, service. If in Boston, would be a top restaurant there, which makes it clearly a top restaurant on south shore. Would recommend to anyone.

We had a wonderful dinner there last night. We started with the grilled shrimp ap. Delicious although a bit on the salty side. The real treat was the Portuguese seafood stew: a huge steaming bowl of fish, shrimp, mussels, in a delicious thick broth and topped with grilled bread to mop up the yummy stew. My husband had the tenderloin special with roasted potatoes and an excellent blue cheese sauce. So good! Cooked to perfection, super tender and the sauce was just right, not over powering like many restaurants tend to do. I wish this was on the regular menu. The bread was delicious too. Simple, crusty, artisan bread. Excellent. Service was just wonderful!

Had a great meal on a busy Saturday night — Cod special and short ribs both excellent. Room was a bit loud, but didn’t detract from a nice evening. Service very good and reasonably priced.

It was one of the better places we went for dinner. Fairly large portions and tasty. We had the braised ribs, salmon, and duck confit, which were all good. The only dish we didn’t like was the escargot, which was in a tomato based sauce. I recall they have a few pizzas. I would not recommend them. I didn’t like the crust. Stick with the other dishes.

Top-notch antipasto and definitely try the duck pizza! Great beer and wine list as well. One of the best south shore dining options.

Have been back 6 times since my 2009 review. 3 were great/perfect. 3 we left hungry because the food was terrible. Last night, the Caesar salad, house pâté, and the veal meatballs with gnocchi were great. Lobster/corn arancini, chowder, mussels, and 3-hour tomato pizza were poor. Arancini just tasted like fried batter, Chowder had an over-abundance of cracked pepper corns which overwhelmed any other flavors and the mussels tasted like they’d spoiled. The pizza wasn’t wrong, it was just cheese and dough sprinkled with a cherry tomato on each slice. It seems with each successive restaurant they open(Tinker, Galley) quality, consistency, and focus diminish greatly. It’s a real shame, but others are stepping up, so you shouldn’t have to settle for half a good meal.

Love this place! The filthy martinis are fabulous! Comete with a fresh blue cheese hand stuffed olive. Yummo. I don’t eat meat and I always have plenty to choose from. I will eat scallops once in a while and I’m afraid to get them anywhere but here. They are great.

I’m SURE any positive reviews for BIA are written ‘in-house’ since the service here is painfully slow and the food is unimaginative, overpriced and just ‘gross’(everything is served over risotto). The manager uses the walls of the restaurant to schlep her primitive, naïve paintings of sheep *yawn*. The service is exceedingly slow because the kitchen is so small and the cooks are unable to produce if it gets the least bit busy(should I say incompetent?). DONOT look beyond the filthy curtain that obstructs your view of the kitchen! The kitchen is the dirtiest I have EVER seen! So, if you’re looking for a strong drink in a quaint atmosphere and you are brave(starving) enough to try, say a burger, go for it! But if you have transportation and any common sense, GOSOMEWHEREELSE!

Such a unique, delicious restaurant with a fantastic setting in a classic New England town. Service was a tad slow. Server was super nice but a little spacy. However, our cocktails, salads, and entrees were delicious, I was most pleased with the strong flavors! I am going to try to re-create the spiced butternut squash salad some day soon. Absolutely delicious. I ordered the surf and turf — hanger steak was ridiculous. I ordered it medium — don’t order it any more well done that that. I asked the server about the temp and she laughed and told me I should really be ordering medium rare… Maybe next time! One crucial flaw in my meal — the lobster tail still had the entrail line! Gah! Don’t do that to your customer. If you are serving a lobster tail, that is a really basic task — take it out! Nothing on the plate should be unedible… That’s my 2 cents for today. Other than that, great food! Maybe the servers need a little more training but other than that, we will check it out again.
