I went here twice during my weekend trip to Cold Spring. The first time was to enjoy the cozy, inviting atmosphere by the bar with the roaring fireplace. The bartender was great and told us he could make us hot toddies even though they weren’t on the menu. I didn’t want to leave that welcoming place! The second time was to eat dinner, which I enjoyed. Their Depot Sandwich is REALLY good, and so are their fries. My boyfriend got the Guinness Pot Pie and really enjoyed it as well. I definitely will come back here next time I’m in Cold Spring.

Incredible food! Service was awesome and the environment was great. Went for a late lunch on a Friday, quiet for the most part, but the choice of music was great. Sat in a booth right near a working fireplace. Had a great experience. Will definitely be coming back!

My first time. Everything I desired, I got. No foofoo garbage. Went on a hike, had a scotch, had some wings, had a perfectly cooked steak, had great talks with the staff. If you don’t like this place, go back to the city and live your miserable life. This is what a restaurant is supposed to be. Take note other restaurants. Thanks guys.

If you’re coming with a group of more than 5 people I wouldn’t recommend coming here. It took the food over an hour to arrive and then when it was here the waiters gave an attitude when asking for utensils, syrup and ketchup. Simple basic things yet a pain for them. To top it off the food arrived cold and even had to order my brother hot syrup for his pancakes. Giving this place 2 stars is a blessing

Nice spot to enjoy lunch when doing a day trip to Cold Spring NY. When we were here recently we enjoyed it. Was a great day so we sat outside in the large patio area. There was some live music being formed by a couple of really old guys performing blasts from the past. It was kinda hokey but they weren’t too loud and it added to the ambiance on a beautiful Fall day. Service for us was very good. Our waiter made some nice suggestions and our meals were fine. Chicken pot pie($ 14) and burger special of the day topped with sauerkraut and ham($ 14) that also came with a side of potato salad. The portions were large, filling, and delicious. They have a decent beer and drink list here, and more than enough on the menu to choose from including some German type plates. Prices were ok and overall it was a perfect choice for us to start off our day tripping here. Good thing we did a lot of walking to help burn off all those calories! Be aware that it is right next to the train station and the trains whizz right by as the tracks run along the outside dining area. Kind of fun to experience. The kids here got a kick out of it. Very relaxed and cozy locals spot that has been there for a long time now. Went inside to look around and it has a warm feel to it with railroad station implements, glass lamps, and antiques all around. They even have a fireplace and bookcases lining the walls. Very old school in a welcoming way.

I’ve been coming here for years every time I come visit my parents. We always eat outside watching the trains zip by. And always the food and service is very good.

It’s terrible, the foods was late for about an hour. They don’t clean the table at all, flies every where. But they gave the check when half of our beer not finished. SPENT $ 90 is not worth.

The food was good… nothing amazing, nothing terrible. Our waiter was actually really great even though he had a ton of tables scattered across the patio and possibly inside as well. The reason for the 3 stars is the lack of organization at the front of the house. To sit inside or outside you wait in a line that starts at the hostess station and at one point wrapped onto the sidewalk of 15+ people deep. When we arrived there was no hostess to be found… we waited about 10 minutes and she appeared(we had 4 parties ahead of us) and she seated one of the parties. Then she disappeared for a bit, then came back and seated the second party. All this time there were about 7 – 8 empty tables on the patio and I’m not sure what indoors looked like. They really needed a more efficient seating system like the other restaurants in the area. I would have much rather have waited while sitting, looking at a menu than standing in an inefficient line.

My god. They must lose a lot of money. Service is really really really slow. No one ever checks up on you — you just wait for the food that seems to never arrive. They don’t even ask if you need another drink. The two of us ordered 2 items each and waited. And waited. And waited. We got the appetizers after 30 minutes(obviously reheated in a microwave). The burgers showed up long after we finished our appetizers. We would have had more beer if someone just came and asked us if we needed anything. When I mentioned the long wait to our waitress the one time we did see her, she laughed and said this is why her T-shirt says«catch the next one». As she walked away I was thinking — they really should have added… «And the next, the next… might as well just stay the night» Food was OK but not worth the painfully slow service. Did I say«slow service»? I meant slow and something not similar to service. What was the salt on the wound was the fact that we waited another 20 minutes for the check. We couldn’t wait to get out. If you are claustrophobic — avoid this place because it is easy to feel that you are trapped and may never get out.

Our experience was all good. We had a short wait for our table and the waiter was pleasant. Loved the patio area and the trains going by. Two of us ordered burgers. Very tasty and I really liked the bun. I had ordered a salad to come with my burger and got fries by accident. The waiter remembered before I said anything and brought me the salad. One of my kids got the wings of fire. While they weren’t as spicy as he was use to he did enjoy them. Last kid got the fish and chips. The cole saw that came with the fish was homemade! I can’t stand it when the cole show in all of Dutchess county tastes the same(Sysco). We wrapped up our dinner with prompt polite service. Tip: we ate a little early. I think was a band setting up. Next time we’ll go later.

I had the portabella burger with a veggie patty, and it was pretty good. I was impressed that the patty was high quality and wasn’t just a frozen gardenburger. Wayyyyyyyy too much aioli on the burger — it was literally drenched in the middle, but I scraped most of it off. Do not try the ribs — my friend said they were really bad. Fries were okay, cucumber salad was nice(like having extra pickles), slaw was a little weird cuz it isn’t coleslaw — more like a pickle slaw but had some weird spice in it. I was literally starving, so this really hit the spot. The host that seated us was super nice and made sure to get our dog water — great perk, they allow dogs on the patio area! Really great place to grab a bite and beer/wine before you jump on the train after hiking breakneck. Service is pretty snail slow, and you have to flag the waitress down if you need anything.

Took forever to be seated and once seated the waitress took forever to come. We ordered a burger and wings and it took 40 mins to come and the wings were burnt and room temp. They also put exactly 11 fries as the side(including the small ones). Sent wings back and the waitress was very rude about it, still don’t know why. Yes its near the train but just go anywhere else if you can.

THISPLACEWASTHEWORST!!! We came here and it took 20 minutes for the host to even look at us even though there were tons of open tables. The menus were greasy and gross and the bathrooms was DISGUSTING! Our waitress took our beer order and then we waited 30 minutes and our drinks still did not come out. Ridiculous! We saw our waitress just standing there inside the place. We decided to walk out, this place did not deserve our money. So annoying because the location is great.

This place is very convenient if you’re waiting for your train back to NYC. Outside café where you can chill and not be bothered. It was full of foreign daytrippers when we were here. Pretty good beer selection, including locals. Went down easy with some oysters. I didn’t have any serious food here, but seems like it would be just fine for a simple meal.

It’s alright, i think a bit overpriced for what you get. It’s nice to sit outside but because you are literally right next to the tracks every so often and speeding(and very loud) train will pass and catch you mid-sentence. I like the band that plays on sundays

Hubby and I have eaten here a number of times throughout the years — main in the summer when you can sit on the patio and only twice have we ever eaten inside. Tonight was a night we had to eat inside… Got here around 7:45 and we started our meal outside. I ordered French Onion Soup(weak) and the Caprese Panini(mediocre). Hubs ordered the Turkey Burger(bland) and my 2 year old had the kids Grilled Cheese(which comes with a drink and ice cream for $ 10.95… Rip off!) Before our meal came we had to ask if we could be moved inside because we were a family of mosquitos meal. Our waiter was really nice and move us inside quickly. Inside the restaurant it was freezing — AC& fans on full blast with outside temps in the low 70’s :-/. I was so cold I had to run to my car and get our jackets. Once I got back inside our meal was at the table. Shortly after our waiter came by to ask how everything was(at the time we didn’t need refills on the drinks). Then that was the end of him for a good 10 – 15 minutes mind you we now wanted refills. Long story short — every time we leave we always say WHY did we go back here?! Food is mediocre at best. The only nice thing about the place is the outdoor seating when you’re not getting eaten alive by Mosquitos. We won’t be back any time soon.
