What a cozy place to grab brunch/lunch. I know fish tacos aren’t a typical brunch meal but I went for it anyway and enjoyed it. My husband got a sandwich and I was huge fan of the homemade potato chips. I would definitely come back if I were in the area again.

First time in the town of Cold Spring and fell into into Hudson Hil’s for lunch. Hard to find really fresh and not overly battered fish n chips dish. It was a special and the BEST tasting we ever had and it was their first time serving it too. My wife loved it. I had the filet of salmon Blt which was so fresh and healthy. Highly recommend this restaurant and Nicole our waitress, was a sweetheart! We’ll be back!

Their breakfast is incredible and I’m only sad that I don’t live in Cold Spring and thus can’t eat here every day of my life. I had the Eggs Creole and it was just divine. Grilled cornbread topped with poached eggs, shrimp, sausage, and Hollandaise sauce. It was unlike anything I ever had before but now I know what’s been missing from my life all this time. My boyfriend got their special, which was cinnabon pancakes topped with walnuts. I had a bite and it was delectable. They give you huge, filling portions too. Can’t wait to visit Cold Spring again and come back here!

We went here for breakfast and it was fabulous. Good size portions for the price(between 8 – 15 price range) and lots of choices. Ambiance is very country and pleasant with a medium to low noise level. Very enjoyable experience on the whole. We had eggs Benedict and Huevos Rancheros. Servers were kind and quick! Will come here next time we visit cold spring!

CORRECTION. My review was of the HUDSONHOUSEINN, but I typed Hudson Hil’s Café. I’d like to think spell check populated the wrong name as I typed but I am not sure how the error occurred. But my review stands for Hudson House Inn.

Found this location and decided to give it a shot because of the good reviews on Unilocal.I would like to give this place zero stars but Unilocal doesn’t have that capability so I’m forced to use one star. Waitress completely unattentive and spent most of her time bullshitting at the next table. Food got to the table very late and was absolutely cold. Expensive for the area I mean three dollars for a cup of mediocre coffee??? where are we in Manhattan??? Could’ve gotten better coffee at Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts for less money and warmer food at McDonald’s. Will never be returning here. If you enjoy overpriced, Cold Food, terrible service and burnt coffee in a hipster hang out, this is your place.

Hudson Hil’s is cute and cozy with a homy vibe. We put our names down and walked around and checked out a few of the antique shops in the area to pass the time. This seems to be the IT spot for brunch in Cold Springs but the wait was pretty reasonable despite the large crowds. We ordered two items to share. One was the grilled cheese sandwich that had bacon and fig jam. The combination of sweet and salty was great and the bacon was nice and crispy as were the apples. Yes, you read right. This grilled cheese has slices of apples on the inside. It’s what an adult grilled cheese sandwich should taste like, it was absolutely delicious(even though it was salty)! The salad that we ordered on the other hand was sub par. It had beets and brussel sprouts on a bed of greens with duck bacon so it sounded interesting considering I usually enjoy beets and brussel sprouts but it wasn’t to my liking. Perhaps I had high expectations given the reviews. The duck bacon is rather tough and salty and the brussel sprouts weren’t fresh. The staff is friendly but forgetful at times. You may have to remind them for cream or sugar with your coffee more than once. I suppose with how packed it gets, they’re bound to forget a thing or two. If you’re looking for a cute and cozy country vibe this is your place. Seriously, they have a screen door and a porch! Enjoy your meal y’all!

Best breakfast spot around. Great customer service, food and ambiance. Love the homey feel and the welcoming feeling we get every time we come here. We live in Harriman but take the drive up here because we love it so much!

YOUGUYS. Grilled cheese is the move here, TRUSTME. A friend and I found ourselves in Cold Spring for the day, and stopped at Hudson Hil’s for lunch. It’s the epitome of small-town local café: relaxed, homey atmosphere; comfort food on the menu; porch seating. We went with an even split of breakfast and lunch, and ordered the Brisket Hash(with a biscuit) and the Grilled Cheese. The Brisket Hash was great, simple but well-seasoned and full of of tender meat(most places skimp and use more potatoes). The star, though, was the Grilled Cheese. Hudson Hil’s layers homemade fig spread, green apple slices, Fontina and BACON(well, we opted to add bacon because BACON) on rustic French sourdough. The result is sweet, salty, crunchy goodness — everything a grilled cheese should be. If you come to Cold Spring, you can’t miss this one! The service at Hudson Hil’s is a little slow(and it’s by no means fine dining) but the people are lovely, the food is delicious, and you’re supporting a truly local business. What’s not to love?

Simply waste of time, money and calories. Had brunch on Sunday. Waited an hour to eat at a restaurant that probably serves one of the worst food I’ve had in awhile. Tricolor kale and mushroom were steamed and created a big puddle in my plate which made toasts soggy and eggs soupy. Toast with butter was the best thing. My husband’s beef hash looked like poop. Aunts Jamina’s box pancakes taste better than their pancakes. Service was pretty friendly thus the 2 stars. Seriously whoever gave 4 or 5 stars must never ear out or something. A huge disappointment as I wanted to like this place.

Food was good, but not great, I had the Seared tuna salad. Service was a bit slow, but it is a café and not a restaurant. We were in the area and needed a place to grab lunch.

A few weeks ago, my husband and I went to Cold Spring for the afternoon. Our time was just perfect, and made all the much better by Hudson Hil’s. We had a fabulous brunch with great service. I had the special quiche with tomato, basil, and Gruyère cheese. It was SO delicious and flavorful. My husband had eggs and despite its simplicity was cooked perfectly and had great flavor(I tried it). The place itself is a really cute little café with an old fashioned farm style look to it. All in all, really great time and meal in the perfect location to have one. Good luck, Hudson Hil’s!!!

Great spot for brunch. Read some Unilocal reviews and decided on this place. My buddy and I rode in on our motorcycles. Cold Springs was just a great town. Lots of people enjoying brunch coming from hiking, kayaking or motorcycle riding like us. There was a wait, but it was such a beautiful day, we didn’t mind the 10 minutes it took for a table to be available. We were seated outside and had coffee served right away. I had the buttermilk pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage. It was hearty and filling. I’ve had better pancakes, but these were pretty good. It was a perfect spot for a meal, and I would definately come back.

Excellent food, reasonable prices and very friendly staff. This was our first time to Hudson Hill and we’ll definitely come back. See the pics I posted of the food. The fennel and beet salad with spinach was a generous portion and very good, filling and light. My son loved the pancakes and my husband loved the veggie wrap which comes with homemade chips(but we subbed with a salad). We were all happy!

Ever since discovering the tranquility and beauty of Cold Spring, this place has been the go to place for dining. Friendly staff, attentive and a homey atmosphere, you can easily spend the afternoon here. The food. That’s the best part. Breakfast all day as well as lunch entrees. I have been a fan of their pork green chili and I was not going to turn down my fix. The breakfast burrito smothered in pork green chili took care of my lunch and dinner cravings. Chunks of pork and beans in a rich sauce covering a burrito filled with scrambled eggs, sausage and cubes of roasted potatoes covers every food group as well as every taste bud. Washed it down with an iced tea and split a highly recommended Derby pie and you will be visiting Cold Spring not just for the views but for the food.

20 minute wait for Sunday brunch but the grilled cheese with apples & figs was ridiculously good! Worth the trip just for this sandwich.

I had lunch here and thought that the food was amazing. I had the Warm Focaccia Sandwich and homemade chips. Just delightful everything tasted so fresh. I think that the only reason why I would give thus place 4 stars instead of 5 is because the service was a bit disorganized and the waiters would help everyone instead of a designated section so we were waiting a while just to get water and for our orders to be taken. Also the place was very warm sitting inside with little ventilation. I would recommend this place, but maybe try to eat outside :)

Many thanks to the people of Hudson Hil’s Café for taking care of my people while I was out trying to confirm transportation services to Boscobel! they gave me rave reviews of how they had a great and wonderful breakfast! prompt and friendly service! so sorry I missed it? but all is not loss had the pleasure of enjoying their picnic fare at Boscobel, turkey wrap was very good with a black cherry cola! very very nice place for a picnic! maybe someday I’ll go back and do it again, but with more time! have a long breakfast have them pack me a large picnic with everything sandwiches, wraps, salads, pies and their potato chips! someday!!!

Cold Spring’s best eatery! It’s my go-to spot for brunch after a long hike. In the week-end, expect lines but they go fast and the walk along the river and in the antique shops make for a great wait(or post-digestive walk!). The real maple syrup is a treat and they always offer scones and muffins of the day with the different flavors. Big portions and moderate prices, it’s my go-to there!

This is a super cute place to carb up in Cold Spring before hiking. They are a small place, so taking large parties might be difficult. They don’t take reservations during brunch hours. Be prepared to have to split into smaller tables, but it’s worth the wait for this popular brunch spot. The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes were super light and fluffy and mixed with berries. The syrup also had berries floating in it. This was one of their specials for the day. I think it rivals Clinton Street Baking Co. pancakes in terms of fluffiness and it’s definitely a lot cheaper. I only tried a bite of the Chocolate Babka french toast, but it was so good. You’re pretty much eating dessert for breakfast at this point. I half wished I ordered this, but half glad I didn’t. The french toast is super sweet and heavy. Still I wouldn’t mind chocolate babka for breakfast occasionally. Their menu is pretty extensive for breakfast, brunch, and lunch, so I will try to come here every time I go to Cold Spring for a hike.

This place is very popular for brunch in Cold Spring. Very cute place, but the food was just OK. My husband ordered the special french toast(fruit compote with maple cream cheese drizzle) and unfortunately they brought him the chocolate french toast instead. They were very apologetic about the mistake(good service) and even brought us a muffin while we waited. When he actually got his dish, it was just ok. The maple cream cheese was very good, but the french toast itself was a bit hard. I had the huevos rancheros which I finished before my husband got his dish. The eggs were fine, but the guacamole was bland and the dish needed something more. I’ve had better versions elsewhere for sure. Overall the sweet service was appreciated, but the food was just very average.

Had a wonderful breakfast here on a random day trip to Cold Spring. My choice was Eggs Creole: Grilled corn bread topped with Andoulli sausage, two poached eggs, and finished with Creole Hollandaise sauce and sauteed shrimp; with country potatoes. It was delicious and tasted fresh. The coffee was good too. Perhaps better than the food were the people and our quirky server, who was actually from New York and was über-friendly and hospitable, offering us her apartment’s porch furniture in case we got tired of walking. Definitely a scene out of a small-town movie.

Meh. I don’t have too many positive things to say about this place. I ordered the vegan burger and a coffee and my date had the Cajun chicken sandwich. First of all, I wish they’d call their«veggie» chips what they actually are– potato chips(which would be better by the way if they had some salt or other flavoring on them). The black bean burger was completely mediocre and I didn’t end up finishing it. It was obvious the guacamole on top was not made there. Their coffee tasted like folgers or something along those lines. Definitely not good. My date said that her chicken was just ok. Overall unremarkable food. Positives: décor was cute, the space was clean, and the waitstaff was friendly.
