They changed the crust on their pizza. It used to be awesome, now it sucks. Still lots of great beer on tap and excellent wine selection, although pricey.

Our family of 4(2 young kiddos) stopped here in Colfax to take a break on a drive home from North Lake Tahoe to San Francisco. They have good personal pizzas. I ordered a Thai chicken pizza which was delicious and recommended by the waitress. My 4 year old loves her personal cheese pizza and my husband had a quesadilla which he kept saying was really good. As the waitress described the food, she talked about the homemade ingredients… Homemade salsa, fresh roasted peppers in the quesadilla, etc. yum! This is on a historic little downtown Main Street in Colfax, perfect and easy on/off the 80 freeway. Highly recommend!

The pros: Very tasty pizza and large selection of wine The cons: very rude unpersonable down right mean staff. We came in with our family who were visiting from out of town. We are locals here in colfax. Was so embarrased when we came in at 7:30, the girl said«Hurry up and order, I haven’t made any money today» I was kind of shocked like, «Is my money no good here or something» Like what am I? Chicken LIVER? The staff does not smile and does not greet you when you come in. All I can say is that they are not friendly, ATALLL!!!

I would like to say to give this place a better ratting I love the beer but I have called a few times to order a pizza at 6 pm and the are out of cheese how are you going to run out of cheese as a pizza place. But the pizza is amazing when you can catch them with cheese to put on it. Great beer selection

A casual no frills establishment with a very decent menu and a fabulous wine list and craft beer selection. Plenty of pizza choices as well as other Italian dishes. A great place to stop in on the way past Colfax to get a bit of local flavor. Priced right. You’ll either love it or hate it, but you won’t be indifferent. Go for the food, but stay for the small town feel.

Outstanding Pizza — Personable Staff — Free Wifi and Clean… even the restrooms! I have several reasons for rating Main Street Pizza with 5 Stars — for starters, the Greek pizza was delectable… the crust was perfect– slightly crisp, thin and light. The sauce was outstanding… not too much either… and what a great flavor combination — just the right amount of Feta Cheese I also had a large house salad with lots of fresh, crisp ingredients. So, yes if you’re looking for a good Pizza in Colfax — give them a visit. Now the rest of the story… I was stranded in Colfax on a 100 degree day, Amtrak delay — 8HOURS. With luggage in tow, I trudged into Main Street Pizza where AC was a relief and the Manager, Katie, welcomed me with a smile. She learned of my delayed train and offered to let me hang out in the lounge area that had a couch. I was pretty raw mentally and physically… was en route from Nevada City back to San Francisco after doing my late father’s estate sale. A comfortable, friendly place to put my feet up, and surf the web was like an oasis… I was so grateful I almost cried. I can’t begin to express the gratitude for the Main Street Pizza staff for their kindness, hospitality and wonderful food. When I’m in Colfax again, I will definitely drop in to Main Street Pizza. I meant to write this review a lot sooner… The day I visited was Monday, July 14, 2014.

Have you even tried your own pizza? GROSS! So salty we could barely eat it. I don’t know if this was a mistake or if it’s always this way. Won’t be back to find out. Maybe it’s a ploy to sell more beer. FAIL!

I wish I could give zero stars. The bottom line is this place is a disappointing joke. How are they still in business? Since Pizzaiolo is sadly closed on Sunday, we decided to give this place one more chance. That was a mistake. Last time we came year was over a year ago when we decided that the horrible service and less than mediocre food wasn’t worth our hard earned money. Our server was dressed in an old baggy shirt and yoga pants and acted like she was doing us a favor by doing anything for us, which was basically nothing. When I asked what beers they had on tap she put her hand on her hip and told me to get up and go look at the handles at the bar. I felt like I was seriously imposing on her and have never felt so unwanted in a restaurant. When we got our food we were more than disappointed at the bland pizza we got and were shocked when the very expensive bill arrived. Fast forward to tonight. We ordered a margherita pizza and garlic bread, or so we thought. I walked in to pick up the pizza and the girl behind the bar, the same one from our horrible experience last year, saw me walk in, made eye contact with me, said nothing, and went into the kitchen for like 3 minutes while I just stood here. When she came out she looked at me like I was an alien and asked if I needed something. When she came back out with my pizza she said nothing, told me my total, ran my card, shoved the receipt at me and told me to sign it and then she just walked away. Are you kidding me? I am a paying customer and she barely looked at me and only said like five words to me. Don’t worry, I won’t come back to bother you. One less paying customer to inconvenience you. Considering there were only six customers in the entire restaurant at dinner time, it might be a good idea to at least pretend you appreciate someone coming in to spend money there. We got home and opened up what we expected to be garlic BREAD(since that’s what the menu says). But no, it was pizza crust(or was it cardboard?) with oil and cheese and maybe some garlic depending on what piece you got. I seriously thought they gave us someone’s cheese pizza by mistake. Can anyone explain how this constitutes as garlic BREAD? The pizza was SO bland and was on the same cardboard crust as their so called garlic bread. The sauce had absolutely no flavor, the toppings were less than sparse and the crust was just disgusting. Save yourself and avoid Main Street Pizza. Your taste buds and wallet will thank you. Go to Pizzaiolo and get the most delicious pizza you will ever eat in addition to excellent customer service. If Pizzaiolo is closed, go to Pizza Factory or get a frozen pizza from the store. Seriously, ANYTHING is better than this joke.

I used to be a HUGE fan of Main St. Pizza but ever since the bar moved in, I must admit I’m not anymore. The bar patrons are drunk and L-O-U-D, making it impossible to sit down with the family and enjoy a great meal. The food is still amazing and the staff is still fabulous. It’s just the bar patrons who curse and yell at the top of their lungs. It’s just not condusive to bringing the family in for dinner. Too bad they let that happen and in doing so, they had to lose most of their tables and restaurant seating. I really, really hope the owner sees this and starts thinking about doing something about it. I get that he’s trying to help out Basement Wines but c’mon man… you’re losing customers over it.

Very good pizza. Fresh, well cooked, not greasy, good sauce… It should be more popular but it’s out of the way. Go if you’re nearby.

I’ve lived in Colfax for two years and never tried any of the pizza places in town, last night I decided to give Main Street Pizza a try, instead of driving down to Auburn which is a 32 miles round trip. I was pleasantly surprised, the pizza was very good, the garden salad I got was as good as you’d get in a nice restaurant, fresh spring mix along with romaine, tomatoes, carrots and mushrooms. The young people that work there are very nice, helpful and easy to talk to. While waiting for my pizza I walked down the street with one of the employees chatting about other business in the area, very cool. I will go there again, no more wasting gas and time drive so far for good pizza, we’ve got a good right here in town and it’s only 4 miles round-trip.

Don’t get me wrong, pizza is okay considering the location. My recent visit there posed three problems. 1. Worst service I’ve seen in a long time, the waiter was overwhelmed with only 2 parties in the restaurant. People at the other table were getting up to grab things from other tables and had to go to the kitchen to ask the waiter to please bring their drinks. He forgot my salad, owner brought it towards the end of our meal, said I didn’t want it now, he said go ahead and take it, he’d take the cost off, that was perfectly acceptable for me. 2. Prices astronomical for the area, my son and I had 1 large pizza, 1 soft drink and a glass of wine, almost $ 39(after I asked them to remove the cost of the salad, which was not removed as promised). 3. I mentioned to the owner that green bell peppers instead of red and yellow would be really great on the pizzas, he said they use the red and yellow. That’s it, period. Guess you have 2 choices; take it or leave it, kind of a lousy attitude for a restaurant owner who’s income survives by making customers happy. This same man owns the wine bar down the street, which is really a nice place. Problem is I have a son under 21 years old and can rarely go there. Absolutely no children are allowed there due to a law. I have no problem with the law, I do have a problem with the owner’s young son(maybe 8 or 9 years old) running through the bar on many occasions. The law is interpreted as no children, except his. The barmaid laughed when I asked if kids were now allow in there, «none but the owner’s» was her reply. If you don’t want to drive 50 miles to Pizza Rock in Sac, don’t mind lousy service or higher prices than in Sac then this is the place for you. I won’t be returning to this restaurant.

The best of the 3 pizza joints in Colfax. Fresh, quality ingredients, nice people, clean, fair prices, creative menu choices. The owner is very committed to making a good pizza. He also owns the Wine Bistro down the street. Both businesses are class acts. My wife was a little put off when she noticed cheddar cheese on her pizza.

Stopped for a quick bite while heading up the mountain on Unilocal’s recommendation. The reviews were right on, they make one tasty pizza. Not cheap, but not outrageous and well worth it.

Wow, maybe someone else has done it before, but we try pizza everywhere we go, and have never seen a mac n cheese pizza. And it really is mac n cheese with white sauce on a pizza crust. Simply the two best comfort foods in existence, in one dish. Needless to say, the guy running the place was very attentive, and if this pizza is indicative of the quality of the rest of the pizzas and calzones(quality cheeses and excellent crust) we will be stopping in many times when making the drive along 80. Make the three minute detour off the 80 if it is even remotely meal time when you are in the area. Awesome.

Amazing. Fucking. Pizza. Tons of fresh toppings, delicious dough, really well made and fairly quick. Too bad the kid running the joint decided the 7 people we had with us couldn’t eat inside the place. Apparently they close at 8:30 instead of 9 when the tyke left in charge wants to close up to go hang with the girls in pajama bottoms waiting around for him outside. Niiiiice.
