Racist, racist, racist!
I went to Modells early in the morning today while the store was empty with a black friend of mine. There couldnt of been more than 5 people in the store, not including the workers, so the workers decided to follow us around the sporting good section of the store while we were shopping. There were four employees pretending to fix up the sporting goods section while we were there. If you know anything about this store they usually have one person working in the sporting good section, especially in the morning when the store is dead. When we got to the register I was going to pay for the socks that I got off the shelf with a debit card and the cashier asked me for two forms of identification. Unbelievable experience, never again

i have notice that i only go to any modells to get what i actually need and its always this modells i go too.
due to it being not as big i can find what i need fast.
plus the deals on clothes here are cheaper then the others and i have no idea why. This modells is located in the college point shopping center right in between old navy and babies r us. Huge key is that the parking is free.
bad thing is that most of the time their is only one register open, Lines are never long tho due to i guess no one shops at modells anymore LOL.

Better service today. I did receive more help and customer service. I did mention it to the manager. I have to make a special mention to a young lady who is always helpful and up beat. Andrea was her name. She has what it takes to be a leader and a manager

I love this modell’s but I wish it had more variety. Can’t be helped since it’s a queens locations.
I’m not really interested in the staff here because I don’t need a lot interaction with them. I just see what I need and get out!
It’s a clean location compared to some and I love that it’s so close to my home. Four stars man! If only they sold scrubs… One can wish lol
And yes. I know they don’t sell scrubs and it’s a sporting goods store…

I remember the days of working at Modell’s (Freeport, NY) in highschool and always finding things I wanted to buy with my next paycheck. However, when I walked into this store I couldn’t even find anything I would consider buying. The sports team shirts felt stiff and the designs were horrendous. I am not sure if Modell’s quality and selection has slipped across the board of if this is just a poor location (it is smaller than others I have been too). After going to Dick’s a few weeks ago in the Roosevelt Field Mall, I think I know where I will be going next time I have a sporting goods need.
