Had the misfortune of having to stay here while I was waiting for my home to be ready for move in. They were charging almost 50 dollars above advertised price at the desk. I found my room online for cheaper and they got upset and ignored me for almost 15 minutes while they waited on the people that«paid full price». Then they charged a fee for my dog to get the final price close to full price. My room was disgusting and had to be changed twice. Once due to BLOOD on the comforter and another due to ROACHES. When I ran out of hot water the rude girl up front states«We just can’t please you can we?» When I spoke to the manager he brushed off my concern and said«Just ask for me from now on.» Needless to say, if I hadn’t prepaid I wouldn’t have stayed. Worse two night ever. I ended up sleeping in the chair since my neighbor complained of bed bugs Do yourself a favor and pay the little bit extra for decent service and a clean room.

To be honest, I’d give this hotel more of a 2.5 to a 2 and three quarter rating, but for simplicity sake, I’ll just give it three. I’m going to try to make this a comprehensive review, so if you’re interested in hearing about a recent visit(8÷18÷14 — 8÷20−14) please read on. To be honest, I was kinda mortified of staying here after reading reviews online that were pretty much all giving abysmal ratings. I had also never stayed at a HoJo before, so I really didn’t know what I could compare it to. Anyway, we roll up pretty late(about 10pm or so) after driving in from Houston, and the minute we pulled up to the motel I was on guard. Bugs anywhere? sketchy folk wanting the rental car? To my surprise, neither were present, the lobby was clean and the clerk was pretty nice. Off to a good start, but I’m not letting my defenses down yet. Enter the room. Another nice surprise, the A/C is already on so it is reasonably cool. Interior wise, it’s kinda a mixed bag. You can tell a few things have been replaced(the tub, the television(but not the shower head for some reason, although pressure was still fine) others, a little dated. When I went to iron a pair of pants the next morning, the iron was charred on the bottom and thankfully we noticed before we really started ironing. The motel does have WiFi, but it’s a little slipshod. It works well most of the time but it sometimes does drop. Just reconnect and there should be no issues. The beds themselves were surprisingly comfortable. Now the big question, any bedbugs? I can answer that with an honest no. Neither me nor my travelling friend awoke with any bite marks or other evidence of bedbugs. On a few other notes, I’d recommend skipping the breakfast. It’s held in the lobby and the choices are pretty dismal. Toast, cereal, coffee with powder creamer, I was not impressed and was happy to have Starbucks later that day. On a positive note, the motel is located near good food options and A&M is only about a 5 – 10 minute drive away. Overall, this motel doesn’t live up to the«hotel of hell» reviews I’ve seen. If you’re travelling on a budget and only staying briefly, this place serves its purpose, if not, there are other, better options in the area. It all depends on what you’re looking for. S.O.

Absolutely disgusting. Do not stay here!!! My dad was bit by bedbugs throughout the night. Worst service from a hotel ever! The front desk does not answer the phone when you need something. The ruins have a musky odor and the carpet feels like it’s never been cleaned. You’ll be very disappointed. Horrible!!! Deserves ZERO stars.

I read the other reviews, but I must say that my room was nice. Perhaps the motel has undergone some updating recently. When we arrived the air conditioning was already on and so the room was comfortable. It smelled fresh and all areas were spotlessly clean. Our room had a microwave and mini-frig, coffee maker, hair dryer, etc. Our room was different from most I’ve stayed in because it had two outside doors. One door to the parking and the other on the opposite side opened to a large grassy area near the pool. Comfortable queen size mattress, 3 pillows on each bed, fresh-smelling towels. My room was clean and well-maintained and comfortable. Not fancy, but more than adequate.

My boyfriend and I stayed with a couple friends Friday and Saturday night. The room was dingy and dirty, tiny bathroom with an even smaller shower with no water pressure. The in room fridge smelled awful. Cockroaches and beetles outside all over the wall. Completely run down building. The front desk clerk was rude and asked me several times during check in how many people were in the room, saying that guests often lie, seeming like she was accusing me of something. The housekeeping was non existent. The beds were untouched and the coffee and toilet paper and Kleenex weren’t refilled. Continental breakfast consisted of a brown banana, half eaten muffins, and coffee that tasted like sewage.

I have not stayed here but Buyer Beware. I almost did and ended up at the Quality Suites next door. There is no comparison. This location is very run down and looks horrible. I can’t believe Howard Johnson put their name on this. There were maybe no more than 8 cars in the parking lot.

GOTSCREWED. Made a reservation for one night at this dump of a hotel because NCAA track championship had taken most of the rooms in this town for this night. The website kept flashing that the reservation was cancelable, but apparently the terms and conditions said otherwise. I had to cancel and was told that I was going to be charged regardless. Ended up staying with friends at Comfort Inn which was much better. Very deceiving company.
