Every time I have gone to this Kroger there aren’t ever enough open registers. It’s so frustrating because they’re usually busy so the lines are long. They also don’t ask if I want help out to my car like they always do at H-E-B(which is so helpful because I’m usually with one or all of my three kids). On the other hand, I love their organic selection at this store!

If I could give no stars, this would have been my score, but unfortunately, one star is the minimum I can give them. This is the worst grocery store one can imagine! Their employees need some basic training in customer service. I stopped buying there. Anything they have can be found at a better quality somewhere else(e.g., HEB). Do yourself a favor — don’t waste your time in this store(unless you want to be treated like a piece of…)

This is by far my favorite Kroger store in BCS. They have great customer service and the store is always clean. Great selection of organic produce & natural foods grocery section. They also have bulk foods and a Starbucks. They just got new kids baskets/buggies/carts that are the same size as the smaller ones at HEB. SOOOO much easier to maneuver!(Moms, I know you know what I’m talking about. The struggle is real, y’all.)

They downsized the deli at their Longmire Street store. It was one of the better delis for a grocery store. Sad to see it go. Otherwise a good selection of your average grocery store. Multiple selection of items. Meat and seafood section are not bad, but still somewhat limited choices. Decent wine selection though their beer selection is not as big as H-E-B. Staff are friendly and helpful. Clean store and easy to navigate around. Nice app to use while in Kroger,

Great selection, meat market has awesome cuts, would get 5 stars except that I think they hire most of their check out staff out of the pool of walmart dropouts. They are slow, will literally chat while your in line and make you wait, and they generally put someone who can’t get around or speak correctly(not his fault, just who ever puts him there is not making a good choice) in the self checkout line and because of this, it often takes longer to go through self checkout then wait in the normal lines. Even with that, its one of the better grocery stores I have been to. ssss

I used to go here on a regular basis as it was new and clean. That is no longer the case! The fish and meat market smells, there was actual packages of chicken in the case that were so puffed up with bad chicken that I thought they were going to pop. Stuffed fish with crab was so old the stuffing had a brown, dried out crust on them. I did manage to buy some bread and a couple other items only to get to the checkout to find only two checkers and 4 or 5 people in each line! I was so disgusted I left and forgot to go to the pharmacy, so I went to the drive through. I waited almost 20 minutes and rang the bell 4 times and all I got as a response was the pharmacist holding up his hand telling me to wait. He had a Starbucks coffee in his other hand… That upset me so I left and came back about 4 hours later. I again waited about 15 minutes only for them to tell mr the prescription I called in that morning 8 hours earlier was not ready. I’m done with all the Krogers in this area. This was the best of them all and now it is just like the others… dirty, old, bad service, worn down, and just plain bad! Calling the health department tomorrow! HEB is light years ahead!

The only reason I ever go to Kroger is either if there is some special deal going on or if it is simply the closest and I need something right away. The selection here and the prices pale in comparison to the Tower Point HEB, which is at most five minutes away. The place seems dirty and the staff are rarely friendly or competent. The lighting is also kind of depressing, but now I’m just being picky.

It’s not as large as the H-E-Bs in town, but this Kroger knocks my socks off. Previously I thought of Kroger as a pretty crappy store in general, influenced strongly by the Southwest Parkway store, which is dirty and run-down. This store redeems the chain as a whole. But this store went through a real remodel recently, and now is one of the better grocery stores in town. While the Southwest Parkway Kroger has their«international» foods limited to just GOYA, Sriracha, and some stir-fry seasonings, this has a full aisle almost as big as H-E-B. Can’t say too much about some of the sections: I’m pretty sure the beer/wine at this Kroger is smaller than H-E-B, the seafood section is definitely smaller, and the clucking near the dairy section gets old quickly(I remember it’s from when it first opened). And of course, the Kroger card is needlessly complicated and makes it hard to just walk in and buy some things for a decent price. The«Chef on the Run» section looks awesome: where else can you get fully cooked salmon steaks and Brussels sprouts, with a side of potato salad?

I’ll be the first to admit that convenience to this store is one of the main reasons I go. But after the remodel and addition of the«Chef On The Run» I would come even if out of the way — It has great food at a very reasonable price! Its great for those evenings when I work late and just don’t feel like cooking. Yes, you do need their discount card to take advantage of most of the savings, but that isn’t a big issue for me. When I can’t quickly get to my discount card, I just give them my phone number. They also mail me additional coupons to use. The staff at the store is also extremely helpful and friendly. They are great at helping me find things when they can see me staring at a «wall» of different selections. And when the cashier asks you«did you find everything?» — it isn’t just lip service. I’ve had something pop into my head exactly at that point and they sent someone to get it for me. I’ve also had them tell me of a store offer applicable to an item I’m buying that I wasn’t aware of(buy 3 get 1 free — where I already had 3 in my cart and didn’t realize I should have gotten the fourth) to make sure I got the best deal. I alternate between Krogers and HEB, just depending on what I need. But I’m definitely at Krogers much more often!

«Chef On The Run» Rocks! After reading Greg D’s review, I tried out their new«Chef On The Run» department. It’s great. It’s almost like HEB Central Market. It’s basically pre-cooked lunch/dinner entrees and lots of sides. They vary the menu weekly and you’ll find things like meatloaf, pork loin, grilled chicken, burritos, soups, etc. Here is a cost saving tip. You can either buy things by the pound or by the plate. Most items are priced $ 3-$ 5 a pound. That makes for an expensive meal very quickly. The smart alternative(which they didn’t tell me about the first time I visited) is to buy a plate for $ 6.99. A plate comes with 1 entrée and 2 sides. I tried their meatloaf with brussels sprouts and asparagus for sides. It’s a lot of food and single plate was big enough for a light dinner for both myself and my wife. I still like going to HEB for basic groceries. I find HEB significantly cheaper than Kroger on most items. Also, HEB has better variety for fresh vegetables. Other than pre-cooked meals from«Chef On the Run», the only thing I buy from Kroger is wine. They usually have much better deals than Specs or HEB.

While shopping at the brand new H-E-B that opened today, we were so insulted by the fact that it’s only a copy of the Bryan location, a «manager» overheard me say«This new store sucks.». But it wasn’t an HEB manager. It was a manager from this Kroger. Yes, INHEB. He told us that other people were also upset at HEB’s basic middle finger to all of Brazos Valley by opening a store that doesn’t offer anything different. And he told us that this(Kroger Signature) location had just been remodeled and opened TODAY and invited us to try it. So we put back half of the«same old crap» that the other HEBs offer and came here. We really wanted to change our shopping patterns and be done with HEB after seeing their insultingly boring new store. This store is very attractive inside now.(See our photos). While I am going to state the same things I have before about the other Kroger locations(it’s stupid that you have to have a «member card» to get a «discount») rather not be price gouged, you really have to watch their prices carefully. Example, HEB carries Häagen-Dazs five™ ice cream @ 2/$ 5, however they are $ 3.49 each here. So pick up 2 of those and you have just spent $ 2 more than you had to. One new thing that pushed this review up to 5 stars is that this newly redesigned store has what is called«Chef On The Go». This is a section where you can pick up high quality meals in a wide variety exactly the same way HEB offers at Central Market in Austin. HEB offers nothing like this in Aggieland. Krogers new«Chef On The Run» dept here totally blows away anything that HEB and Central Market offer in this part of Texas. We tried a lot of free samples and it is excellent home made style food presented beautifully by nice friendly staff that worked hard at making it and are proud of it. Suck on THAT H-E-B! :) We will be shopping here more and telling all of our friends to express our disdain at the insultingly non-creative cookie cutter, BORING store that HEB just opened today. Go Kroger!

I used to go to Kroger Signature about 2 – 3 times a month, before the C.S. H-E-B was finished in ’03. It’s a good sized store(for this town), but isn’t as expansive nor does it stock as many international foods as HEB. Every time I come back to this Kroger, it seems to have diminished a little. Perhaps I’ve grown accustomed to the greater selection at H-E-B. Also I find it a pain to dig out & scan my discount card to receive the marked or advertised price. Also, I can’t recall what personal info I gave them in creating my card account, meant to do what? – Track my purchasing habits & history?
