Trying to avoid Starbucks with an old friend, this was the perfect place we were looking for to catch up right after the holidays. We walked in and were so pleased with the enormous amount of options at this little coffee shop — including foods like soups, sandwiches, quesadillas, etc.(…in which case I assume it’s mostly frozen but looked good enough if you’re really hungry/need a quick bite). I chose a half-decaf café au lait, but my friend was excited by an opportunity for Mexican hot chocolate. Seating is plenty, although it was packed on this evening. Luckily someone left their high-top table as we were receiving our drinks. We were able to sit and chat for a good while. There’s plenty of small-batch goods along the walls as well as some old CDs, vinyls and movies. I really thought about buying a Cher CD for $ 1.99… but resisted temptation.

Great coffee, but give yourself about 45 minutes before taking a sip if you don’t want to burn your mouth. Coffee is SCALDING hot. Burned my hands even with the sleeve.

Chill looking place with an overall cozy vibe. We picked up two mocha lattes and even had the option for almond milk for them — which was pretty cool. We were on the holiday move so we didn’t get to crash on any of the snug chairs or seats set out for patrons, so I’m hoping to have an opportunity on our next visit. From out of town and passing through the area? Totally worth the visit.

What a fantastic place to get a coffee drink. I was on the drive by hunt for some coffee, because do it yourself in a hotel room, just doesn’t satisfy the need for coffee. We parked easily. And were able to get in and out quickly for a fantastic cup. The service was perfect. It made me smile to watch the baristas interacting with the regulars– shows how much they care, and it made me wish we lived closer to be a regular ! Had a butterscotch latte. And will definitely go back! I highly recommend it.

Just stopped in for 2nd time since moving back to Collingswood. I like this spot better than Work-in-Harmony and Revolution. I like the setup and the staff is very friendly and nice. I like strong coffee and like La Colombe from Philly. Had the coconut latte today which was really good and the food selection is good as well. Only thing for me is that the sandwiches seem a bit small but I’m starting to realize that maybe this is normal since the other spots in town also serve small sandwiches. Even though this is on the other side from where I live, I’d still make the walk down this way anyday!

Truly my favorite spot for a frozen matcha green tea with almond milk. The cheese plate and hummus are outstanding. Great staff working there and a perfect place for music lovers.

I gave them 4 stars for the friendliness of the staff and the fact that they have a huge outdoor seating area on the side of the business. I like to relax and come down from my day by just chilling and sitting in the sun with my boo. Their coffee is good enough, nothing special but good enough. They’re priced right also, nothing priced too high. They also sell sandwiches and loaves of breads to take home. And, they have a small section of CD’s, local artist jewelry and art available for purchase. It’s a quaint little place. When in Collingswood, we always stop in.

Stopped in for coffee after dinner at a local restaurant. I had no idea what I wanted, I just told the barista I wanted something cold and sweet so she recommended a caramel latte — tasted amazing. The store is unique in that it also sells some odds and ends(tie-dye items, records, etc.) Cool spot.

I can’t believe I haven’t been there yet up until about a month ago! Perfect summer coffee shop with lots of outside seating! Since I discovered grooveground I have been there several times. Everyone who works there is super nice and extremely helpful. I also enjoyed all of the things they have for sale up on the wall. Toasted coconut mocha latte is absolutely amazing!!! I have also tried iced hazelnut mocha latte from there which is nothing short of perfect, for all Nutella lovers! I think I found my new spot which has been perfect in the summer, and will be great in the fall as well! Highly recommend!

Nice selection of beverages. Homemade cream cheese and interesting choices of sweets and sandwiches for breakfast as well as lunch. They also sell records, cds and some other nick nacks.

I enjoy coming to the Groove Ground, been doing so about once a week for the past several years now. It has always been quite the delight to get one of my favorite drinks at a reasonable price, especially when the refills are at a great price too.

This place is awesome. The coffee is great, the atmosphere is like a little living room where everyone in town feels at home and, if you are in a bind and need a pound of coffee at 10pm– they’ll keep the light on for you and greet you with a smile. The coffee is LaColombe– so it’s localish– but the service is straight up neighborhood local and fantastic.

The perfect neighborhood café! The owners have created a great atmosphere to share with the community. Come in and see neighbors chatting and laughing as well as sharing. Sharing space, sharing joy, sharing smiles. Great food and great music make this a favorite spot. Cheers!

A lot of my life revolves around coffee. I drink it every day, either out or at home. Whenever I’m in an area I haven’t been in before, I try to find out where the coffee shops are. You can tell a lot about the vibe of a town from where they get their coffee. It’s not just about the coffee, but how the space feels, how it fosters community. And in a suburban setting, this is even more important. This is why for me, Grooveground is a 5-star place. Let’s start with the coffee. They use beans from La Colombe, the famed small batch roaster in Philadelphia. While La Colombe has been doing some amazing even-smaller batch«workshop» roasts lately, Grooveground keeps it to the basics: the Nizza, the Corsica. They’re not serving Revolution, a roasting outfit on the other side of town, but it’s a decent, honest cup and won’t serve you wrong. On the non-coffee side of the drink menu, they have an array of hot chocolates(including a spicy one with chili pepper, one of my favorite drinks that I’ll often get with a shot of espresso), teas, frozen coffees, Italian sodas, and juices. The food offerings are sort of an eclectic mix of things; I’ve gotten breakfast sandwiches here, I’ve gotten oatmeal, paninis, and a hummus and chip plate. There’re salads, soups, and wraps here too to round out the menu in a more traditional way. And they’ve always got baked goods of some sort, like breads and bagels. But now I’d like to get to what makes this a 5-star place for me. Looking at other reviews, Grooveground’s quirk and atmosphere isn’t for some, but it’s absolutely for me. The space it offers is more than just a place for drinking coffee. It’s a space in a more old-school coffee shop vein. It’s a place to hang out. To meet up with friends, to randomly come across neighbors you didn’t know you had, to spend a few hours in a cozy place. And there’s a outdoor space up against the building as well that gives you a great place to hang out outside, if you’re into that(and I am). Another important part of Grooveground are the hours. It’s open until 10pm during the week and 11pm on Friday and Saturday. Nowhere else I know in the suburbs has those hours, and even in Philadelphia, it’s hard to find a place open that late. Even the super trendy, great coffee places are open til 5pm, 7pm, or at most 9pm.(Even La Colombe’s new space in Fishtown isn’t open this late on the weekends.) Not everyone retreats to their homes in New Jersey when the sun goes down, and I very much appreciate that Grooveground is somewhere you can go to hang out late into the evening. So, that’s what I’ve got. These are the reasons I love this place, and probably why it’s been around ever since I started coming to Collingswood over ten years ago.

Pretty cool, eclectic yet simple coffee shop. In addition to coffee, tea, oatmeal, sandwiches, cookies & other assortment of foods, they sell old school albums, CDs, paintings, clothes newspapers and a variety of knick knacks. There are tables to sit and dine as well as comfy couch-like seats that make you fell warm and cozy. You can sit for hours chatting with the locals or your friends about everything from local to national politics, books, recipes and more. Great window view of Haddon Avenue for people watching. Love the bohemian vibe of this small neighborhood coffee+ shop.

Lots of laptops and people perched in their seat for hours(but I think that is what most people think a coffee shop is for). They have café au lait, which is the only thing that I will be ordering from now on when I go there. My special friend likes the chai latte. I thought the chai tea was nothing really special, I forget what brand of tea it was. Better than a starbucks, and I am glad there isn’t a starbucks in Collingswood.

Super cute local coffee shop. I’m sitting here as I write this review! Atmosphere: Modern chic and cozy at the same time. A few single couch chairs in clusters and then a few rows of tables with chairs as well. Along the side wall are shelves of cute little items ranging from candle holders to teapots and mugs to handmade jewelry and soaps. They have a small rack for male and female clothing, just a handful of garments. They also have a sale section for $ 1 CDs or discounted merchandise. Prices were super fair. Food & Drinks: They have an assortment of baked goods(cookies, muffins, scones, etc.) and lots of drinks on their menu. They are currently doing a Hot Cocoa thing where you can get a hole punch whenever you buy hot cocoa here. They have more flavors of hot cocoa than I’ve ever seen(peppermint, Mexican, S’mores, coconut, and so many more!) I got the S’mores hot cocoa and it was delicious! With delicious thick whipped cream and marshmallows. YUM! I got their Blueberry scone as well-that wasn’t very good actually. It lacked sweetness and flavor in general. Very bland and flavorless. I don’t recommend it. I should’ve gone for the lemon poundcake instead, maybe. FREEWIFI. I’m a fan because of the comfy couches and free wifi and drink options. Parking on the street in front is only 50 cents for an hour, can’t get cheaper than that for paid street parking.

For a long time, I avoided this place … just because I was close with someone who avoided this place and said it wasn’t worth spending money here. Stupid, stupid. I live down the street and stopped in for the first time this morning. The line moved quickly, they serve La Colombe coffee, and the atmosphere is all you could want from a local coffee shop. But, the cream cheese. Pumpkin cream cheese. Goodness, that stuff is good. No, not the right word. Goodness, that stuff is heavenly. That’s a bit better. I slathered my bagel with it, and I don’t care how many calories I consumed. So worth it.
