What a gem of a place. CLEAN, GREATSERVICEANDBESTOFALLHEALTHYWELLPREPAREDFOOD. We were traveling through Colorado Springs and needed a breakfast place. Unilocal lead us there and as soon as we were seated we knew we would enjoy the meal. I had an egg white scramble with turkey sausage and fresh veggies– delicious! My husband had a fried egg and waffle– all perfectly prepared. My husband had a freshly juiced pineapple drink with coconut waters and ginger– excellent. Nice hot coffee. Our waitress, Melissa, was excellent– she gave us the time we needed to eat but was around for anything extra we needed. Great nice, local place.

The food was very tasty, i enjoyed the customer service alot. Our waiter was very nice and went out of his way to take extra care of us due to the fact we had a 5 month old baby. The noise was average not too loud and the atmosphe was very homey. I got the texas skillet and the flavor was very good. I would eat here again.

I had the pineapple pancake with sausage and two eggs over hard. The breakfast was so delicious especially the pancake. It was served with a coconut sauce and it was yummy. I didn’t need to use any syurp, it was that good. The yokes on the eggs were broken, bummer. Breakfast was served hot! So important. I also got the morning glow juice it was great but waaaay too much ice. All in all I am impressed. I will be back!

The service here is terrible ! We sat at the table for 20 minutes without being greeted, no drinks nothing we walked out and ate somewhere else !

Horrible service and waitress sucks. She even spilled a drink all over customer and wasn’t even apologetic. Also came back to my table 3 times to ask what we ordered for real. Tamara needs a new job.

So this place is convenient and there is usually not a line. Only the 2nd time I’ve been here and nothing really stood out to me but what I got was solid. Honestly don’t think you can mess up a waffle. Coffee is good and the service could be better. I would choose this place over any ihop or Denny’s. However there are better breakfast places in the Colorado Springs area.

This place is always good. I love the Wisconsin Scramble and recent tried the Mexican Skillet. Just the right amount of spice with the green chile. My daughter loves the Pancake. Fair warning, the pancake is HUGE.

This place is absolutely amazing! I had the Belgian waffle and it was so flakey and soft I didn’t want it to end. This waffle melts in your mouth and hugs your taste buds in the right way. My boyfriend ordered the Huevos rancheros and they were more like heaven rancheros and the potatoes he got on the side were clouds of deliciousness. 10⁄10 would eat again.

The waffles are probably some of the best I have ever eaten. The Kale Cooler is a bit tart, but overall tasty. Service was really friendly and attentive.

Solid breakfast! I work across the street and was told on a slow Monday it would be 7 minutes for takeout. 12 minutes still wasn’t bad, and it was well worth the wait. Biscuits were honestly ‘whatever’ but the gravy was a serious step up. Crab cake benedict was honestly a hail mary(seafood in Colorado?) but it ended up kicking ass. Also, some of the best hollandaise I’ve had in recent memory.

Best breakfast ever!!! Menu has awesome choices, very fresh and healthy, too! Similar to First Watch(better, though!) Ordered omelet to order with green chili sauce… perfect! Kudos to Michaela for fabulous service!!!

I would highly recommend getting the Parisian Benedict. It has a croissant instead of an english muffin for the base and I love that they put a lemon slice on top to add a little bit of freshness. It’s the little things! The portions are just big enough that you don’t feel guilty finishing the entire plate but are satisfied. Overall, a great little establishment with friendly staff with thoughtful execution.

Is there a negative star rating? Hey. I’m a huge fan of breakfast, brunch and of course brinner. One of my tried and true ways to gauge if a place is spot on is to try the gravy and the green chile. Staples at any Colorado breakfast eatery worth their salt… speaking of salt. .I have passed the Egg and I numerous times wanting to try it and today was the day. no wait at peak breakfast time so that was cool. but I should have taken that as a sign. was sat at a little table and decided on the biscuits and gravy. .testing my theory… it comes with your choice of eggs and what the server described as «ranch style» potatoes. Sounds good enough. when my food came out I was not overjoyed with my normal breakfast enthusiasm. .for alas… the gravy was clumpy and greasy and separated from itself… the potatoes, described as «really good and fresh» by my server looked more like lone little dried out pieces of cardboard. And the eggs… well. how hard is it to scramble an egg? The gravy was salty, no real other flavor and the biscuits were gooey and under cooked. My little pieces of cardboard. .er.potatoes resembled neither home fries nor fresh… nor well… hot. they were bland and cold in the center and tasted mildly like refrigerator. I would have sent it back but the server never came to ask how my food was. simply cruised by to put my check on the table while I was in mid choke of chewing my cardboard. .er.sorry.potatoes. very disappointed. .when I was at the front counter paying my bill the cashier asked how was your meal. did I have the energy to tell her after spending the whole 45 minutes of my visit breaking my teeth on the bland potatoes? ?? I stated that it was salty and the potatoes were cold in the center. .her reply? Oh.hmmm.ya we will check on that… Ya…Right…

Been here a few times. This last was the worst of them all. I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict. The crab cakes were very fishy tasting. If you eat fish you should know that if it tastes really fishy it probably isn’t fresh. The cakes also did not hold together well, no crunch, just mush. The tomato was too soft and the hollandaise sauce was cold. Some of my potatoes were burnt as well. I am not sure I would go back to this place. I think it is overrated for sure. I enjoyed my meal at Cracker Barrel a few weeks later a lot more.

I just moved here from California to Colorado Springs. My fiancée and I wanted to go out for an early valentines day dinner. We looked online for good reviewed restaurants and found«The Egg and I». Our waitress was fantastic and Steve, the manager, comped our coffee because we were new residents and never had been there. The meal was amazing, I highly recommend the Raspberry pancakes. The restaurant was clean and organized and everyone made you feel taken care of even with a line. There was an issue with our food but Steve, being the nice guy he is, comped part of our meal to satisfy us. Never have I been to a restaurant where I felt genuinely cared about in all aspects. Everyone was friendly and inviting which is why I’m giving it a great 5 star review. If you’re looking for a great price($ 20 about for two people without comping) and great service as well as food, the Egg and I is the place to go.

In the need of a reasonably priced breakfast or lunch? Want it to be tasty and plentiful at the same time? You’ve found the right place. The service was attentive as well.

Even though it’s a chain, has a quaint, country cottage feel. The santa fe huevos is magic: a big toasted tortilla covered with black beans, cheese, two eggs and smothered with pork green chili. The eggs are always perfectly cooked without drowning in butter. Also comes with a big plate of homestyle potatoes. Add some dashes of their homemade«Eggs and A-yi-yi-yi» hot sauce, delicious! The biscuits and gravy are top notch. I’m not usually a big fan of the dish, but this place has large chunks of sausage, and it gets devoured pretty fast. Don’t usually go for the sweeter stuff(pancakes, belgian waffles), but it’s solid — no frills. For people who like lighter fare, the raspberry granola pancakes are very good… you’ll have enough for seconds cause it’s bigger than my face.

Stopped in for an impromptu breakfast Saturday morning. The staff was bright eyed and bushy tailed, I was not. I had one of their signaute skillets and a pour of the rain forrest bold coffee. All was good but nothing to write home about. I’ve always heard great things about the Egg & I but honestly if I was blinded folded I would have sworn I was eating at a Village Inn. Three starts and an A-OK is pretty fitting.

Went here on a quiet tuesday morning, a far cry from the weekend craziness. It was a nice change of pace. Server was very friendly and prompt. We probably only had to wait about 5 minutes after we ordered to get our food. They didn’t rush us(there wasnt like there was a line), but were still attentive and make sure our coffee stayed filled/hot.
