Update: The Sun reported today that El Burrito is closing after being in business over 50 years, effective Saturday, November 14, 2015. I am really sorry to here of this closure, and wish Sybil and Cathy, the owners, all the best in their retirement. El Burrito makes some of the best burritos in the Inland Empire. The hand made tortillas are key to the product, and the sort of dive-ish old drive in provides a somehow desirable ambiance to the eating experience. A relleno burrito and tropical ice tea eaten on the picnic tables out back make for a relaxing lunch experience

I have been coming here for the last five years, as I live a few blocks away. I really only came every few months, with there being an abundance of Mexican food in the area. They also close quite early, and would be closed before I was hungry. But now that they are closing down for good, I find myself craving them more than ever. The Ladies here have always been super-friendly. Greeting you with«How are you doing?» before anything else. They a;ways have time to fit a little small-talk while you order. The menu is limited, but whatever you get is sure to please. My usual is the Big-G with Carne Asada; lettuce, cheese, tomato, beans, and rice. Really good, like a Burrito Supreme on steroids. Always huge. They will ask how many hot sauces you want. 3 or 4 is the correct answer. Because the hot sauce is watery, but GOOD! With little pieces of green chile floating in it. Today I tried the Big-G with Chile Verde for the first time. I was really happy with what I got. JUICY chunks of shredded pork with some great sauce. Probably should have ordered it «wet» because the sauce made it taste extra good. My Wife and kids are huge fans of their BRC Burritos. Which are good, but are a bit pricey for the size. LOADS of cheese though. I had their Rolled Chicken Taco for the first time, and let me tell you. I regret I waited all these years to try one. They are SO good, that I didnt even mind that they came with that Smart and Final faux-guacamole green stuff. Mostly chicken, with a little papas in them. Great texture. Im ordering a few more next time. They have some really good Lemonade. A fixture in the Colton community since 1957, El Burrito will be closing down for good on November 14th, 2015. I will be a sad day for burrito lovers in the Inland Empire indeed.

If your a lover of El Burrito #1, you better get to it quick, and eat! They are going out of business, on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at 7PM! I heard, that CVS, or Walgreen’s has bought their corner property, and are planning to tear it down, and construct a new, building there! Looks like, another«historical building» in Colton, will become: «Dust In The Wind»!

I give up. I’ve been to this place on 3 different occasions and they’ve been closed! New hours are Tuesday-Friday 10am-6pm. Perfect! If only I lived around the corner or worked 5 minutes away.

Please do not come here. Do not waste your $ on this place. I use to come here all the time when I was younger, and a couple of months ago, I came to show a friend that this place was small yet still had a lot to offer. The taquitos I ordered. THEYWERETHEONESYOUBUYINTHEFROZENSECTIONATTHEGROCERYSTORE. Such a disappointment.

So I’m on this pesky diet again(yeah, gym alone wasn’t cutting it) but I decided the Mexican in me NEEDED a burrito today. Luckily for my taste buds, unluckily for my body image, I drove by El Burrito and decided to stop in. I ordered the all meat, carne asada burrito with onions, cilantro and cheese(extra charge for cheese). If I’m being honest, the woman at the counter who took my order looked like a vagrant, but I only point that out because I don’t want anyone visiting this place to be «freaked out» or «turned off» by it. She was genuinely nice, took my order accurately, and thanked me twice for coming. The burritos here start with a FRESHCOOKEDFLOURTORTILLA. Ok, how can you NOT dig that? First bite into my huge burrito was great. By the third bite, I could hear a little voice in the back of my head saying«Stop now, or you’ll eat the whole thing.» The carne asada has a nice tang to it(reminiscent of something citrusy) and the meat was so tender(not one piece was«stick in your teeth» tough). The meat flavor was complimented nicely by the traditional onion and cilantro. Lastly, I didn’t mind being charged extra for cheese because my burrito had plenty of it, and they use cheddar, which gave the burrito that sharp bite of cheese flavor which ultimately hit that«pleasure button» in the brain. Yeah, I finished the whole thing. I can see it now; my wife’s look of shame when I tell her I cheated on my diet. Her disapproving look as I fail to convince her that my plan all along was to only eat half. I know that tomorrow when I step on the scale in the bathroom, I’ll cry a little. But ultimately, when I remember that moment when I was enjoying the middle portion of the burrito(we all know that’s the BEST part, where everything goes to settle nicely), I’ll smile.

LOVE this place the food is always delicious and ALL my international friends ask to go here as soon as they arrive. I like the Colton location the best, staff are super friendly. Hand made tortillas daily really set it off. Never had a bad meal there EVER!!! I would give it 6 stars if I could.

Good stuff! I go for chile verde Big-G, a big heavy burrito loaded with tender juicy pork. You could also choose ground beef or carne asada, but the chile verde pork is outstanding. Friendly service and reasonable prices, but only outside tables.

Authentic mexican food Delicious beans and rice and the chicken rolled tacos are one of a kind They have a sour cream guacamole dipping sauce that is so tasty and complimentary to the main dish! They accept cards now with a 1 $ fee because way back in the day it was cash only! Eating here brought back great memories it’s good food for the soul!

The Redlands location is far better! The cashier seemed a little disorganized but she managed to get my order properly. I ordered rolled chicken tacos. The chicken itself was DELICIOUS. I wish the Redlands location used that recipe. I thought it was a little funky how I received my order in a Stater Bros grocery bag but whatever. My problem was the guacamole… The Redlands location used sour cream and avocado to make theirs. I’m not too sure what this place uses though because it was awfully salty and had black spices of something in them. If I could take the guacamole from the Redlands location and put it on the tacos from this Colton location, I would have the perfect rolled chicken taco. :D That being said, this location is a little but less expensive than the Redlands spot. However, if I had to recommend one of these restaurants, it would have to be the Redlands El Burrito. This one just doesn’t cut it.

My wife Gloria asked me on my birthday what I wanted her to bring me home for lunch. My answer? How about a Big«G» burrito from the El. Almost wishing my birthday came more often. I order my Big G with diced onions, cilantro & no rice. Ah, that’s a burrito. Just for fun I tell everybody the Big G is named for me!

A great little burrito stand in Colton. The tortillas are handmade each day and all the ingredients are always fresh. I highly recommend the veggie burrito; its huge and tasty.

The cooks have recently been working the window and they CANNOT handle it at all. Took the hispanic lady 5 minutes to take my order(a burrito with meat, cheese, rice and 1 chicken taco) not only did they give me just a burrito with cheese and rice but the rice was also stale and crunchy! What happened el burrito? You were such a great place to eat at?!

Very disappointed today! They charge $ 1 to pay with a debit card. seriously? It doesn’t cost them $ 1 for me to use my card. I was going to let it go until I visited the bathroom. The bathroom had no toilet seat, literally, just the toilet, no seat! Wth? What are girls supposed to do !!! So gross! The food was good but hard to enjoy since I was irritated.

How many stars have I give to the mexican variety of restaurants I have frequented you ask??? None! Except this one! I am not a huge fast food fan, though I will have it in moments of desperation. But I would drive here for a relleno burrito through shark infested waters! Ok, maybe not shark infested… But definately swim in «open» water for it. I love the salsa! The food is quick and fresh. It is family owned and operated. Friendly as heck and they deliver an excellent product for the price. I would recommend this place for all in the area or just lookin for down home mexican cooking. No indoor seating(sad really) but I would eat my reeter in the car!
