I spent an afternoon working remotely at Dunn Bros. The atmosphere and setup were ideal for being productive while still being comfortable. It was an afternoon during finals week, so coffeeshops downtown were packed. However, Dunn Bros was far enough away from downtown/campus that there were tables available. I assume this is the case throughout the year. I sat in a comfortable armchair near a window so I could enjoy some sunlight while I worked, but there were other regular tables open. The staff was friendly and the coffee prices were comparable to a Starbucks or Bread Co. The chai latte I ordered was average, I’ve had much better and I’ve had worse. I did sample a few of their energy bars, and plan to order one next time I go back(I had just eaten when I was there). The bars were not as dry as most energy bars and had a good sweetness to them without being too sugary. This is a good alternative to the chain coffeeshops downtown if you want to work/study and are worried about finding a table. It also has a private parking lot, so you don’t have to pay the meter like you would downtown.

This review is for one thing only: the cold-brewed coffee. I like cold-brewed coffee. It’s smooth with fruity notes, lacks any bitterness, and is highly caffeinated. It’s so good that putting milk, cream or sugar in it is not only unnecessary but I think doing so would also detract from this lovely product. The thing I like most about Dunn Bros is that you can buy growlers of their cold-brewed coffee. What a brilliant idea! I’ve been to many coffee shops that sell cold-brewed coffee, but this is the first one I’ve seen that offers growlers of it. I have 2 that I swap out with each other so that I always have some cold brew in my fridge at home. Now, I have had a few of their other drinks, which I enjoyed. Once I stayed in the shop to study and found the ambience just fine as well. But the primary reason I’m a regular customer is for their growlers of cold brew. They’ll refill them inside or via drive through.

Great place to sit and have a cup of coffee. Ambience is very good. Very pleasant service. They also have free Wi-Fi. They’re frozen drinks pretty good as well. The only reason why I gave four stars is because of the lack of any good lunch menu. The cold sandwiches are very mediocre. Otherwise, just for coffee, this is a very good place to come and hang out with friends or to sit down and study some stuff.

The other Dunn bros locations are better. The coffee here was made so poorly, I literally dumped it out. I was going to call to talk to the manager but decided it wasn’t even worth it. I get the same drink every time and the girl who made it managed to make it not even drinkable. I’m not trying to suck up giant coffee particles in my straw. Taste = nasty.

Nice quiet place to study or meet a friend, and actually find somewhere to sit. The coffee was pretty good, I had a chai latte and my friend had a mocha. I liked the atmosphere and the location the best.

Average coffee which is over priced. Got a «discount» for bringing in our own coffee mugs. Nice place to study.

I’m in the area visiting a friend and she took me here. Will definitely try to make another trip over there before I go

My husband and I were there yesterday to get coffee for the road. There was a customer, who OBTW had his coffee, just chatting away with the staff behind the counter. The staff didn’t make a move to serve us. After standing there waiting for 5 minutes we packed it in and left. Business must be pretty good at this to be so cavalier. We will never go there again.

Pros: The atmosphere here is awesome! Every time I’ve visited here to study or read, it has been nice and quiet, despite it being almost full. There are ample seating options and the room is well-lit and very open. I love that the crowd rolling through here is made up of quiet college students studying and middle aged people here for business meetings or just to catch up; it’s nice not having to shout over other people to talk to my husband or to order. Cons: The coffee isn’t all that great. I have come to the conclusion that the Caramel Latte and Salted Caramel Latte are the best items to get here. The flavors of any other drink are not very good. Also, they never have any good deals! I mean, I know Starbucks is over-priced and a huge chain, but at least they have BOGO or happy hour or SOMETHING every once-in-a-while! The best deal you’ll get here at Dunn Bros is 50% off a specialty drink or a free cup of brewed coffee(and that’s only once for signing up for their e-mail list). Then, of course, they do provide a free drink on your birthday, but that’s only once a year. I would love to see this place offer more and better deals!

Good coffee, nice atmosphere, generally good coffee shop. Of the number of times I’ve been here the staff hasn’t been the most upbeat and a little on the slow side. I’ve never had a really bad experience with the staff but not an amazing one either.

Pros: Decent drinks(my mocha here is smoother and less sickly sweet than a Starbucks mocha) in an area of town without any competition. It’s spacious and clean — with a range of arm chairs, fun high tables, and standard wooden chairs/tables perfect for an afternoon of working. I’m enjoying sitting in a pseudo-tiki shack structure and the spinning ceiling fans. The attempt at modern feng shui reminds me of Kaldi’s. So if you want to feel hipster, you’d be better off at Lakota’s downtown. Cons: The service is slow and I am impatient. I’d hate to run in here for a quick morning coffee run because I’d end up late and even more stressed out. Also, the playlist is some atrocious cross between reggae and elevator music so I suggest bringing your own headphones.
