Place is outstanding! one of my top 5 restaurants across the Nation.

The food is fabulous. Top notch. The bartenders are rude, one crabby old lady and a younger lady neither know the word smile. The table servers are great. We were seated one hour after they opened and they were already out of prime rib and bone in ribeye. Major disappointment. The hostess told us it’s like that every weekend… come on, who manages this place? A rookie? The fried oysters and strip steaks were great, as were the deserts. The shrimp Atascadero was over cooked, tough and tasteless except for a hint of Louisiana type hot sauce. We plan to try the competition before we go back so we can compare the ability to get what we want, the prime rib and ribeye, that’s why we went early.

Amazing! Expensive dinner for special occasions. Order the Aunt Jackie. Simply the best.

WOW! I’ve only been here once, but the time I did go I have to say the food was nothing less than exceptional! By all means this is an upscale restaurant compared to most restaurants in CoMo, so expect to dress nicer and pay a little more for your dinner. They do not take reservations so make sure you arrive there before the crowd does. The service from our waiter was nothing short of 5⁄5 rating as I went on my anniversary and he certainly helped with providing exceptional service for a special day. The overall cleanliness is great. The menu selection is one of the best you’ll find in CoMo and by far has the best seafood quality in CoMo. Unfortunately I no longer live in the area, but whenever I come back to CoMo for a visit I will certainly keep this as one of my top options.

We had the black waiter and he was amazing! After waiting a while(and almost leaving) we then had a change of waiters and got him and he was wonderful. Great food

CC’s is always a treat and a wonderful experience. It’s on the pricey side, so my family normally just goes around Christmas time when we are all together. It has an intimate atmosphere making it a perfect choice for my whole family. They do not take reservations and your whole party has to be there to be seated. It opens at 5pm. My parents live right by it, so normally we try to get there at 4:45, and there usually already is a line. It fills up pretty quickly, so if you’re not there at 5, I would come later knowing you might have a wait. Once you get seated, your waiter is very attentive from the start. My family is a big fan of Brad. We love being sat in his section. The menu selection is great. So many cuts to choose from. The only stressful thing is that everything is so good. I chose Gary’s steak on my most recent visit. Gary’s steak has a very limited amount available each night. But it’s definitely worth it if you get there early enough to order it. I also upgraded to the lobster mash potatoes as my side. It was unreal. My siblings all ordered the jalapeño twice baked potato. If my mash potatoes weren’t so good, I would have had side envy. I am getting a little ahead of myself though. They have a great wine selection if you choose to have some wine with dinner. You also get a soup or salad with your steak. People raved about the salad because it’s worth raving about. It comes wrapped in cucumber topped with pecans, feta, and bleu cheese. Their house balsamic dressing is always my choice of dressing, and it’s so good. I have never been disappointed with any entrée except maybe a seafood dish I once ordered. But that was only because I had steak envy once the entrees came. So if you’re not a pescetarian, I would always suggest getting beef over the fish. But that’s just my opinion. I would also suggest upgrading to a premium side, because they’re pretty amazing unless you’re trying to make a healthier choice. I can’t say anything about dessert because I don’t think we’ve ever ordered it. We are usually all pretty stuffed by the time we leave.

Every aspect of the food(including the bread and house salad) are great, as is service(we’ve had one server who was a bit pretentious, but overall they’re really good). A couple of years ago, my husband and I were eating here when their power went out and they didn’t miss a beat! They rolled the grill outside under a street lamp, added candles to our table, and it was the BEST dinner date we’ve ever had. I haven’t been here for a little while, so maybe this has changed, but they used to not take reservations which is really challenging when you’re trying to plan your evening. I’m also not a fan of a couple of their sides(but they’ve quickly replaced them whenever they notice I don’t like one). Those two things are all that keeps this from a 5-star, but I still think it’s hard to beat as a date night or other special occassion.

Very good food. Wait staff is efficient although a bit pretentious. Place is very popular and waiting to be seated is common. Prices are high. Still worth a try though.

I went here 5 or 6 times and every time I had a great experience. There can be a bit of a wait for a table, any night of the week, so I recommend going as late as possible. They won’t be as busy and the wait staff will be more attentive. Try the salad that’s wrapped with thinly sliced cucumbers, it may be the house salad if I remember right, but anyway it will not disappoint. A great date restaurant.

The quintessential steak house. Anywhere. Everywhere. It’s like seeing the Grand Canyon. You just have to do it. Scott Cleeton and his team does it like no other. If you get a chance to have Victor wait on you, it’s just all the better! I know CC’s has a regional draw if not national draw. You will have a hard time not finding a better steak, and the fresh seafood is just as tempting. It’s all flown in weekly, and it shows.

Although located in a relatively new building surrounded by strip malls, once inside find yourself transported to Chicago’s Drake Hotel or Morton’s in New York. Elegant dining, great steaks and seafood, and a nice selection of bourbon and wine. Be warned, however, they don’t take reservations … never have … so expect a wait if you arrive at prime time.

Definitely see how it is one of the best restaurants in CoMo. Top quality service, amazing food, perfect portions, and the atmosphere is relaxing. If I ever crave steak, I’ll definitely be getting it here at CC’s.

As a native Chicagoan I am very selective on steaks and the quality of steakhouses. After reading reviews of CC’s City Broiler I knew that I had to check it out. Since my son is a student at Mizzou, we have been searching for a great steakhouse in Columbia and had just about given up. What makes CC’s so great is that their steaks are aged and well marbled. They cook them exactly as you like(medium rare is not medium, for instance) and their flavor is both mellow and memorable. I had the NY Strip and it was as good, if not better, as any from a Chicago steakhouse. One of the best surprises is their house salad which is fantastic. It’s a great chopped salad that’s placed in a cylinder of thinly sliced cucumbers topped with superb dressings. The room is pleasant and well appointed. The waitstaff is well-versed, professional and pleasant. The only negative about CC’s is that they don’t take reservations so you either have to go early(before 6p) or plan on waiting at least 45 min. We arrived at 5:30p(party of 5) and waited a little more than half an hour. Oh, and did I mention that CC’s is one of the most reasonable and affordable steakhouses. You would expect a NY Strip of this quality to be priced at $ 44-$ 55 in Chicago. At CC’s it’s at least 30% less. The net-net: we plan on going back to CC’s everytime we go to Columbia to visit our son @Mizzou.

We’ve been to Columbia three times, spent the weekend twice, and on both of those overnight stays ate dinner at CC’s. It’s that good. The house salad itself is worth the visit, and all of the dressings are homemade. The menu isn’t huge, but they do everything(at least, what we’ve had) well. They also have an extensive wine list, and the waiters seem pretty knowledgeable about their offerings. The décor is nice, is dimly lit(but you can still see the menu), there are real tablecloths, and did I mention the salad? My husband got steak both times, and really enjoyed his meal. I’ve gotten fish specials both times and last time the swordfish was absolutely perfect. It’s super easy to overcook swordfish for even a second, and this was not overcooked in any way. Desserts are excellent as well, but the real stars are the main courses.

On the road for work and craving a nice meal, I searched for the highest rated places nearby and thankfully wound up at CC’s. I came late on a Monday night and no one was there, but that definitely could not be due to the lack of quality output happening here. I had the Dry-Aged Prime Cut Ribeye as a recommendation from the chef. He cooked it perfectly justvin between rare and medium rare and it was one of the best steaks I have ever had. This was in part due to the unique spread served on the side. Apparently it’s a mixture of salted butter, garlic, blue cheese, and au jus. None of the flavors dominate, but spreading a bit over every bite was absolutely delicious. It came with a beautifully presented spring mix salad wrapped in thinly sliced cucumber strands and bubbling over with walnuts, feta, peppers, and tomatoes doused in their house made balsamic vinaigrette. Being in the Midwest after a long day at work I felt like a full-fledged hearty meal, so I went with the twice cooked jalapeño mash potatoes on the side. They were tasty with a little kick, but didn’t quite wow me like the meal’s other rockstars described above. I ate at the bar and chatted with the bartender Matt who was extremely helpful and cool to hang with since it was so slow. The ambiance has that old supper-club feel, which made for an awesome experience all the way around at CC’s. If i do find myself back in Columbia, I’ll definitely be back.

We were with a group of 8 and had called to see if we could get a reservation(Sunday night). While they do not take reservations the person we spoke with was very helpful in telling us that normally there is no more than a 30 – 45 minute wait(which is typical any where it seems). Once we arrived, the person remembered speaking to us and let us know it would be a little wait. Instead of waiting for tables to clear, they opened up another dining area for our group, which was really nice. The bar is very good and had a nice selection to keep us entertained and hydrated while we waited for our table. Once seated, daily specials were described. They have a really nice menu selection of different types of steak, salmon and lobster(I do not remember if any chicken dishes or not). There was also a nice selection of appetizers and side dishes. Our group tried both the fried oysters and onion rings. Very good and would recommend(great taste, little grease). The salads were very good, not your typical iceberg lettuce offering. I particularly enjoyed the basaltic vinaigrette dressing. The main meal presentation was great! They placed all main dishes in front of each of us covered, then did the reveal for all of us at once. This was a really nice touch and made for an enjoyable experience we weren’t expecting. All dishes were served as ordered and were very delicious. Dessert was excellent, Crème Brûlée cheesecake. Decadent and delightful. I will definitely return when in the area and highly recommend this restaurant. Staff service was excellent.

I came here with my boyfriends family on a Friday night and let me tell you… This place fills up fast! Within 40 minutes of opening we got one of the last available tables! Good sign! We started the night off with two appetizers, the onion rings and the fried oysters. The onion rings were hands down some of the best I’ve had, but unfortunately the oysters didn’t follow suit. They didn’t taste the freshest, I would definitely say pass on those. For our entrees we got steaks all around the table. 2 duchess filets, the steak Sinatra, and the special of the night a dry aged ribeye! The filet was phenomenal! The bacon wrap was a great addition to this classic! My boyfriend got the Sinatra after our waitress informed us they were out of his first choice, Gary’s steak, which was the reason we came. He claims that was the best steak he’s ever had, which I could definitely see being that they sold out of it within the first hour! However he was still very pleased with the steak Sinatra! The Ribeye on the other hand was poorly trimmed of fat leaving a lot of wasted steak, but still very tasty! Overall this place has it down! I just wish we arrived earlier to get Gary’s steak! Come early people!

I haven’t reviewed a business on Unilocal for an entire eight months(those pesky college courses will keep you busy) but I found a place I enjoyed so much that I had to come back and tell everyone about it. My mother-in-law wanted to eat a nice meal on her last night in town, and CC’s was so insanely delicious that we agreed to come back next time she’s back in CoMo. The salads were freaking great. I got it with the balsamic vinaigrette and I could have eaten a few more easy. Have you ever had a salad with french fried onions? Because I have. I ordered the salmon with fried asparagus and I would totally recommend it. The husband and mother-in-law each ordered steaks, so I didn’t sample those, but they both really enjoyed their meals. I did have a few bites of my husband’s jalapeño mashed potatoes though and it was fantastic. We finished with the crème brûlée cheesecake and left completely happy. This place is so fancy that the waiter opened my napkin and put it on my lap. This place was so fancy that the plates had those domed lids and they were removed with a flourish all at once. This place is also so fancy that the waiter carried a little crumber to remove the crumbs from the tablecloth between courses. Our waiter even walked to our car in the parking lot to return my mother-in-law’s scarf, which she left at the table. Seriously he was awesome. It’s not cheap at all, so this really is a special occasion kind of place(but yay for in-laws who pay for dinner!). But the dining area is small and cozy and I feel really strongly when I say that I would absolutely recommend CC’s for anyone who’s considering it.

Don’t let anyone tell you CC’s Broiler is mediocre. This place is heavenly in terms of food. My wife and I went out for her birthday and being that we had never been to CC’s we took the plunge and celebrated. In being well aware that CC’s is certainly the most expensive place to eat in Columbia($ 30 steaks) we have pushed off eating here for awhile because of the price tag. However, you get what you pay for in terms of food, presentation, and atmosphere. The food. Mouth watering, unique, delightful, filling. Need I say more? I ordered the traditional filet but put a spin on it by ordering the steak«peppered». The filet was wrapped in bacon and served with a side and salad. The steak was one of the greatest things to ever tickle my tongue. To say it didn’t cut like butter would be a lie. The salad was quite interesting. It was a chopped salad wrapped tightly with a slice of cucumber. Very delicious! The side I had order was a baked potato, nothing special but still tasty. The food overall was fantastic, not to mention the sourdough bread that tasted like a warm doughnut *drool*. Also, if your looking for a side that’s outside of the box, I highly recommend the fried asparagus, so good. The staff is very professional and seem to love their job. Props to management for running a great spot in Columbia.

Spending the last couple days surrounded by mostly futile attempts at quality food I reached out to local stalwart CC’s Broiler. I walked in nd felt as if I was at home. Sinatra on the radio, full bar, and dimly lit. Game on, or so I thought. The bartender didn’t know a Sazerac and the Manhattan she made was watered down and empty in flavor. The Caesar salad was good but using kraft grated parm in this day and age is so Olive Garden. The bread, was classic old world steakhouse. Hot and awesome, though it was served with overly cold butter. As I ice picked the butter with my knife I wondered how this still happens. This restaurant I am sure was great in the eighties, pretty good in teh nineties and is just running on fumes now. The steak that came out spoke of that. It lacked caricature is was tough as tough could be. It mad ebe think of Sizzeler not sixxeling steak. Spend your money else-ware — until next time dine fine(er)
