Best steak, salad and fries I’ve had in a really long time!

I can’t go too many days without wanting a steak. There are not too many choices for a good steam in Columbia, MO but I am so glad that we found this little gem. I called a few hours earlier to get a reservation. We we arrived our table was set and waiting for us. When dining the food is important, but so is the service. At this place both the food and service were excellent! Out waiter Sean was very friendly and helpful. He made several recommendations to our table and he did not miss with one of them. I started off with the Caprese Salad and loved it. It was so fresh flavorful. For my meal I enjoyed a flavorful and perfectly cooked KC Stockyard Strip. I also opted for the super yummy creamy gorgonzola sauce. Next time I am in town I will defiantly be back!

My father and I ate here before I left for college and the food was awesome! The prime rib was perfect and the service was very attentive! I’ll be back!

I booked a reservation in March for my dinner to celebrate my sons graduation in May, I received a confirmation email. I called today(4 days before graduation) to confirm my reservations and they said they had nothing and that what I received was a confirmation that they received the email not an actual reservation. The person that called me said he had no responsbilitiy for this and that he agreed the person who is in charge of this should ahve called me to tell me that they were full. Now it is 4 days before graduation and I have no where to go. I wouldnt count on this restaurant at all. They are COMPLETELYUNPROFESSIONAL and have now made what should have been a wonderful evening chaotic to say the least.

Everything about the restaurant is just like the background music, e.g. an imitation. Martin Buble pretends to be Frank Sinatra and the food, service, and atmosphere pretend to be upscale. It is not. The prices, however, are.

What a great place to eat. Waiters are very pleasant and professional, and the food is absolutely delicious. This is a nice restaurant, so expect prices to reflect that. Definitely worth every penny though The dining room is small and quaint, great place for a date.

This is a restaurant with pretty big aspirations that it’s not quite meeting. Our meal here wasn’t bad by any means and 3 stars in no way means shy away. It just means they have areas to improve. It’s fairly pricey but not outrageous. We had a reservation for 7:30 on Saturday night. Upon entering we immediately got the feeling they were stretched service-wise even though the tiny main dining room wasn’t empty. One of the first things I noticed was that not one table in the room actually had food on it, meaning everyone was waiting.(one table was finished, waiting to leave it appeared). We were seated after a wait of only a minute or two but the table was not actually set up yet. We were brought water and silverware in short order. Drink orders were taken and bread was brought. We were never given bread plates although other tables had them and we had to ask for napkins. Our waitress was super pleasant, as was everyone else we saw working there. It really just felt like a restaurant that is either owned or run by a bunch of kids who are over their heads. I had a steak and Mrs M had the filet tower, layered with mashed potatoes. Both were done properly although we did question the cut of meat on the filet tower. It just didn’t look like tenderloin, more likely sirloin. I’ve never seen filet cut like or shaped like this. Salads were tasty. The only miss on the food was the grilled asparagus. It was the skinniest stuff i’ve ever seen. Literally, it was at best 1/8″ diameter. I would not even have served this. The whole experience was, in a word, clunky. Would I return? Maybe. I don’t know. Probably not very often as there are too many equal alternatives. Finally, a valet might be a good idea as parking is a challenge. Give it a try and write a review. Columbia needs more Unilocalers.

An absolute gem in downtown Columbia. A co-worker and I were eager to find a really good dinner after a very long couple of days. We stopped here not because of a recommendation, not because of a review we had read, but because it looked like an ok place to get a meal. I had seen this place before(on a previous visit to Columbia) but didn’t think anything of it. We started with the scallop appetizer– awesome. Caprese salad– awesome. Bread, soup, Schlafly on tap– awesome, awesome, awesome. The pinnacle was the steak Napolean. I highly recommend this place. A bit on the expensive side but worth every penny. Our server Chris and his co-worker were very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and a pleasure to deal with. Awesome dining experience!
