Our favorite restaurant in Columbia. Food is top notch. Wait staff is consistently efficient, courteous, and alert. Plenty of room around tables and booths. Atmosphere is good for dinning and conversation. Restaurant is in an unpretentious location, but perfect for people who like a consistently good dinning experience.

Soooo glad I depended on Unilocal for this choice! Excellent selection. We’re not locals, just happened to be traveling through and appreciate a good meal with sensible portions and healthier options. At Chris McD’s we got a great meal, sensibly portioned with vegetable options. Because we were traveling we were a bit more casual than everyone else but did not feel out of place. Our group of 3 enjoyed such a good dinner, we actually endulged and shared a piece of carrot cake. Total cherry on top of a great dinner. If I was a local I’d probably be a regular. Definitely recommended.

First time, dinner. Had crab dip(enjoyable, if mostly a creamy mess where the crab is lost…), a shrimp dish special(this was good, esp. the shrimp), and a turtle brownie a la mode(also good; and I was too full by then to finish it). Nice corner booth table at which to enjoy it all; friendly, helpful waitstaff.

Very good but expensive! We got the crab dip as an appetizer and it was delicious! Then my husband got the ribye and I got the seafood pasta. Both were very good! Only negatives were it took around 40 minutes to get a seat when there were open seats and then about 1 hr to get our main dish. Still worth the wait!

Enrique’s review is excellent and mirrors mine, so I’ll save you from reading a duplication. I will add, however, that I also have been going to McD’s for years and I find that it’s a great place for happy hour; my colleagues and I enjoy the quiet atmosphere. It’s not«packed» at that hour so we can actually hear each other in conversation and the happy hour drink prices are reasonable. Now, if Chris would just add wine to the happy hour list. ;0)

My husband and I had dinner last night and the food was quite wonderful. I had the steak«oscar» with a filet of beef, shrimp and asparagus in a great gorgonzola cream sauce. Hubby had the ribeye special with mushrooms, garlic mashed potatoes and fresh broccoli. He was extremely pleased. These are not the sort of meals you have every day, but are wonderful for a special occasion. The server is the reason for a one-star deduction. She was very inexperienced and we both felt she tried to rush us a bit even though the restaurant was not busy.

I have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed but never really wowed either. At this price point I really want something a little more special and a nicer environment so I usually head over to CC’s instead.

The experience at Chris Mc D’s was long overdue given that I have lived here for five years. Service-professional, pleasant, and well-timed. Lighting– dimmed but not dark(as compared to competitor Cici’s across the street). Menu– excellent selection to fit every taste. And the food– unforgettable, timeless and truthfully would love to eat dinner here every night. We had a 3 inch thick filet cooked flawless medium rate and prosciutto wrapped Jumbo sea scallops. Wine was suggested by the server and he knew what he was speaking about. Definitely must give them a visit. I can’t wait until my next meal.

Four of us went to Chris McDs last night. Service was spot on. We all ordered steaks…3 of us the rib-eye special and one the filet mignon. All were cooked perfectly. I love the light seasoning they use on their steaks. Their garlic mashers and scalloped potatoes are so good, I found myself eating them before I had a bite of the steak. My wife ordered the spinach salad, which she said was excellent. They will bring a warm loaf of bread(sliced) and some small plates along with seasoned olive after ordering and prior to the meal. I have eaten here many times. My favorite, if not ordering steak, is the prosciutto wrapped giant scallops, seafood pasta, and the salmon. As for the steaks, Chris McDs does the best job of any restaurant in Columbia. The cuts of meat are prime. They are aged properly and very juicy(my crowd typically orders medium rare to medium). The only drawback that I can see is the décor needs to be updated a little more. It is a work in progress and much improved over the past year. The bar is very well stocked and the bartenders do a great job with mixing drinks and have great suggestions for those who can’t make up their mind. So far, this is my only 5 star rated restaurant.

Ok, this place has a lot of potential, but the experience was not as good as I would hope for the price. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was professional. Our appetizer was great(meat and cheese plate) and we were both very happy with the salads(warm spinach salad and wedge salad). However, the main dishes were both very bland. My chicken had was cooked great but had no salt. The steak was also cooked well(although just a tad undercooked), but it was not seasoned great so that you really though you were enjoying it. The sides for the two meals were also just ok, but both had almost no salt. And for the record, I’m hate over salting and usually like it a little undersalted. But I’m not sure that they put any salt on these at all. For $ 88 before tip, I would have expected better.

Food was excellent and service was good. It was Family/football weekend at Mizzou and they were busy. My steak was excellent! The cheese/meat appetitizer tray was very good especially the pepper spread. We will definitely return when we visit Mizzou again. The restaurant is in a stripe mall but don’t be put off. It’s a gem.

I would give higher but my dad ordered the carpaccio and when all the food was delivered the waiter said, «It wasn’t up to our standard and the manager is coming I talk to you.» Manager came and said sorry, can I get you something else. Didn’t seem to mind the kitchen was going to serve something old and obviously not good… All other food was good. Just seemed to set the server off his game. No dessert or after dinner drink offered until we asked. Manager seemed to care very little that my father’s food was not up to par…

The food was good when they got the order right, but all that good food doesn’t make up for the many mistakes the kitchen and service made for our group. We hoped for more for my sister’s graduation day. I hope they improve their methods because they were very unprepared.

Saltiest food I’ve ever had. Everything was way over salted. If you want a nice dinner, stick with CC’s or Sycamore.

While living in Columbia, I had never visited Chris McDs and probably because of its location. Though I was in the strip mall every Wednesday for my weight watchers’ meetings, it never seemed appealing to return and spend $ 100 on food. Well, I got my chance to visit when my boss hosted our Christmas party here this year. From the moment we entered, our glasses were full and we had perfect service. The bread and salad were both fantastic but the stars were the entrees. Because I’ve never been here, I’m not certain if these dishes are on the regular menu, but they were delicious! I had the roasted chicken breast with rosemary jus and mashed potatoes and vegetables. It was moist and delicious. My man had the filet with a gorgonzola cream sauce. I about died for this sauce. It’s a good thing I don’t know how to make it or i would be in some serious trouble. I wanted to dip everything in it! I can’t wait to return when I have a chance. This has taught me again to not judge a book by its cover!

Went here one time with a group of friends because we had a certificate. The food was really good, but the portions were small for the price. Also I still had two certificates that I hadn’t used, and when I got home, I was notified that that they were no longer accepting them. and had to pick a new place.

Not a lot of curb appeal, but impressed with the food. Had the halibut special which came with some great and unexpected additions on the plate — caprice and toasted bread with a light cheese. Bartender Jeff is a rockstar! Come at happy hour for unexpected add ins like free dessert and salad! Fresh & tasty!

It’s kinda tucked back into a strip mall but it is better than you’d expect from the entrance. I made reservations for a group of around 20 people and they were nice about it and didn’t make us choose a limited menu and even let us do individual checks. There is a back room for large groups but it’s kinda weird since it has floor to ceiling windows with a view of a parking lot. The service was good and I think most people enjoyed what they ordered. I had salmon that was OK, smothered in butter isn’t what I normally want from seafood. My one problem with the evening was that they pushed together a row of circular tables to fit us all so there was big gaps between people and we almost had to shout to talk to each other. Other than that it was an enjoyable meal. The main dining area is meant to be more romantic and has some serious mood lighting going on.

I’m inclined to give them a pass on how long it took to get our food because it was clear they were having a bad night. But there shouldn’t be a five minute lag between one half of our party getting their food and the other. My main objection, though, is that we brought in a doormail coupon that included«free dessert» for everyone in the party. I put that in quotation marks because on our way out, we walked past another party as they were being showed the dessert tray, and the desserts on that tray were significantly different(larger, more elaborate, included fresh fruit, etc.) that the tray we were shown. My were out for a nice meal with some friends, and probably would have opted to pay for one of the nicer desserts over the tiny free ones we were offered. As it is, we were left feeling slighted.
