This place is pretty small, but you can still get anything you want because they’ll order it for you. I went to get a six-pack of Original Sin Cider for my brother for his birthday, but they didn’t have it. However, the guy that was working was super nice and walked me through the store pointing out every other cider they had and gave his opinion on them to help me pick out a different choice. He also said that he would talk to his distributor to find out if they could get the Original Sin. I went back a few days later and got Breckenridge Vanilla Porter(another fav of mine) and I was glad they had it because it was the second place I went to.

Only place in Columbus I can find my favorite beer. After asking Tobacco International more than a dozen times to order Schaefer beer and being told they would(which they kept telling me they forgot) I started calling places trying to find it. Eventually this place answered saying that had one 12pk left. It was a pretty far walk for me, but worth it. The guy was really nice and said he would keep ordering it for me which he has. I am a huge fan now.

Parts of Peter’s review remain true and pretty much all of Caitlin’s is spot on. The most important thing to note about Peter’s review is the date. I’ve been a customer at Andy’s since around 2000, and in that time it’s had no fewer than three different owners. The most recent owner purchased the store sometime in the last year or so, and this is why the date of Peter’s review is important. That span of time saw Andy’s worst owners in memory. They purchased the store to make money, something they failed at by not knowing anything about beer and not trusting their employees or regulars. The owner used to sit inside and breathe down the cashier’s neck and follow every customer around like a puppy, only with bad intentions. Now the store is back in the hands of a beer aficionado, and things are back to normal again. They’ll tell you when and if they can get something, they’ll special order, so on and so forth. The drive thru probably still sucks. It is oddly positioned and out of sight from the cash register. The selection is varied and they will get some of most limited releases, but its size restricts its ability to offer a huge selection. Peter is also correct that the store hours leave something to be desired. They have not changed, and I’m fairly certain they aren’t even open til eleven. I’m thinking more like ten. I love the place and go here often. Oh, the employees are also very friendly and talkative. It’s a nice environment to peruse. Finally, one of the residents across the street sets his artwork outside of Andy’s and it’s free for the taking… Plus, it’s not terrible!

I love Andy’s. They have one of the best selections of beer in the whole neighborhood. The owners are really friendly and full of information about the beer selection. They carry a lot of Bell’s selections that are hard to find even at Pace. They will also special order pretty much anything you want. Every time I go in and ask for something specific they don’t have they either direct me to a similar selection, offer to order the beer, or tell me when it is due to come in and at what time. Andy’s is a great place. I’m always happy at my selections there.

With the exception of their«build your own six-pack» section, which is slightly overpriced to begin with, Andy’s is a relatively poor attempt at the premium beverage store model. Given the lack of better options in the area, it will usually suffice when you’re in search of something to pregame with besides watered-down domestic lager, but if you have the time to go out of your way to bonafide beer enthusiast havens like Palmer’s in Clintonville or Viking near Short North, this place shouldn’t even be considered an option. One unique quirk that sets Andy’s apart from their competition is their drive through window, although it rarely makes your trip any quicker or less painless. I once had to circle through the driveway three times to finally catch the attention of the clerk that was on duty at the time. Apparently it’s their job to walk over to the window, take your order, than go back inside the store and search for it. A sad attempt at a brew-thru if you ask me. Also, the hours here suck, as they close most nights around 11PM. You can buy primo beer at the Giant Eagle up the street later than that, which would be truly shameful if that particular Giant Eagle location wasn’t renowned for their beer selection. Shame on you, Andy’s.
