Yesterday I was getting my tires changed and had about 2 hours to kill, so I sought some coffee. Walking a couple of blocks down, I ended up getting a latte @ Cornerstone. I got my coffee, parked myself at a stool at the window, plugged my phone in for a charge and proceeded to fire off emails and texts in between quiet phone calls. I noticed it was getting close to time to stroll back to the tire place, and I went to the counter to get one for the road. The woman working informed me there was none left. How could that be?! Turns out they had closed about 20 minutes earlier, and they were too kind to kick me out. They practically twisted my arm to allow them to make an Americano for me. They were too kind. The coffee was tasty too! I’ll be back for sure! I’ll just be sure to get out of there before 4 ;) I’m withholding a star because I need to try the food.

Cornerstone is a relative underdog in the C-bus coffee scene. The tiny shop is decent enough, but it’s ultra-downtown location limits its customer base to office-types. In fact, its so urban feeling that it almost makes you feel like you’re in a real-deal big city! They serve Crimson Cup Coffee, so you’re set there. The baked goods are limited but tasty… mmm, cinnamon roll muffin. I wouldn’t advise trying to come here in a car. Parking is a joke. However, if you’re already downtown and don’t feel like going to Brioso for some crazy reason, check Cornerstone out.
