I tried the chicken curry and rice it was disappointing. I paid 7.99 for it but was bland and watery. I am on a gluten free diet and ask the owner of it contained flour and she was able to call and ask someone who said no. No gluten free menu.

I’m only writing this to help you out. I kind of feel sorry for whoever bought this place but there are a couple things you could do to get people to come in. First when you’re a coffee shop open in the mornings with outdoor tables and chairs it would be much more inviting if the tables and chairs weren’t all chained together. Second get employees who give half a sh**. Nobody wants to frequent a place with an unpleasant employee who quite honestly seemed terribly inconvenienced that I even walked in. She was so unapproachable I didn’t buy anything! And that’s bad when it is almost 9am and I haven’t gotten a cup of coffee yet. May also want to think about the cigarette placement up on the walls as patrons come in. It is also very unwelcoming. Good luck I hope to try again someday.

Good for beer/wine if you’re staying at the hotel across the street. Don’t know about breakfast, but avoid for lunch. They don’t serve the jerk chicken anymore(it was a recipe from the former Jamaican owner). Now they sell $ 6 wraps which are tiny and don’t come with chips or a drink. Generic precooked chicken and sandwich meats/cheeses. Fresh veggies though. During the week go down the street to the Buckeye Deli or Pine Room. You’ll be happy you did. $ 5 gourmet wraps at the pine room. Larger portions at the deli.

I’ve heard good things about this café/carry out that’s now under new ownership. I wanted to order some of the jerk chicken but it was already sold out(always a good sign!). I went for one of the wraps. Aside from being a little heavy on the mayo/sauce it was pretty darn tasty. They also have a pretty good size beer and wine selection. The prices are great for downtown and I can’t wait to see what this little place can turn into.

Found this new business across the street from Renaissance Hotel. Located corner of Gay Street and 3rd. Dashed in for a quick coffee and a muffin on a $ 4 special. Excellent house coffee served commuter style. Also sells beer. Recommended if you want something more convenient than Starbucks down the street.
