Best kept secret in downtown! I happened to notice this place one day last week while going to my bank. The next day, my co-worker and I decided to try it out for lunch. It happened to be Thursday, when they have jerk chicken on special — and it was absolutely delicious! They were also very friendly and willing to let us try samples. They even insisted on giving my co-worker a container of vegetable rice(kind of like a biryani) for free! We definitely recommend and we’ll definitely be back!

Rendezvous is a small corner café on 3rd and Gay St facing the Renaissance hotel which carries various sandwiches, coffee and freezer based bottled drinks. It’s great to get something light to eat late at night as it is open till 11 p.m. I got a chicken sandwich in a croissant($ 5.99) and a muffin($ 2.49) a couple of days ago. The sandwich was prepared quickly and was pretty good for a late night snack. The muffin on the other hand was gigantic but tasted like one of the prepackaged ones that you would get in a supermarket so was completely avoidable. Overall a convenient little place to grab a late night snack in the heart of downtown.

I absolutely love Rendezvous! Their Albuquerque Turkey on a croissant is my personal favorite. The chipotle mayo is awesome. They are incredibly nice and they always know what I want as soon as I walk in the door. Highly recommend!

Rendezvous is a small corner café offering sandwiches and wraps, some Jamaican specials, and Crimson Cup coffee and tea. I found it cute and affordable, with the food hovering around the $ 6 range. The menu was actually a rather impressive length for the teeniness of the establishment. Most of the sandwiches are of the chicken, turkey, and roast beef variety, but I tried a veggie wrap(hummus and fresh veggies; you can choose your wrap, too, and I went for spinach), and there was a veggie burger listed, as well. The two women who helped me were both very sweet. I’m sure most of their business is takeout, but I ate in and sat down at the counters that line the window. Gay and 3rd is actually a great corner to have a such a clear view. Plenty of car and foot traffic to stare at vacantly. Or non-vacantly, your call. There is even wifi there, but be sure to ask for the password. My google-fu reveals that it’s been here for at least three years, so I’m surprised I’m the first to review, but I’m not complaining! Although the downtown area has a lot of options to quell your lunchtime hunger, this isn’t a bad one to add to the list.
