Another nail in the coffin. If the owners should ever think of opening another restaurant, let the record show that is place was one of the biggest ripoffs in Columbus’ history. Not only was the food almost inedible, the restaurant management was blatantly unashamed of the situation. This attitude was part of their business model. They filled seats with an endless stream of first-time patrons thanks to Arena District events, particularly visitors from out of town trying to avoid a pre-game meal from concessions. Fool me once, …

Now I can’t say too much about the food selection as the night I went was during a downtown event(Red, White, and Boom to be specific) and they were only offerring a buffet. I can, however, comment on the service and the atmosphere. The restaurant itself is much smaller on the inside than it looks like it would be, but that’s okay. It has a really huge patio and fancy bathrooms to make up for it. Yeah, I just used the bathrooms in my rating. =P Our waiter was great about keeping my glass full, which is always a big important deal to me as I tend to drink like a fish!

I went to Cotter’s after the Race For The Cure this past Saturday with my team and I was far less than remotely impressed. Overall, the atmosphere seemed nice, tables and linens were clean, etc. Our male server at my table seemed very annoyed/catty/bitchy…whatever you want to call it. His attitude was terrible and any thing we asked him for seemed like a chore to him. One of my colleagues asked for a redbull… that was broken. He then asked for a shot of espresso… which wasn’t available either. Bread came out and the bread was great — soft yet crispy crust. The butter, which appeared to be a seasoned-herb butter of sorts was extraordinarily bland and tasted nothing like what it looked like. How you can screw up seasoned butter is beyond me but it was tasteless. I ordered a simple burger… nothing drastically complex about that and for $ 10 I was highly disappointed. There was nothing fancy about it — almost, ALMOST comparable to a Wendy’s burger — which Wendy’s is great… but it’s for $ 5 not $ 10. Various other restaurants in town have WAY better burgers and cost less. This wasn’t even seasoned in any particular way, shape or form. I can’t cook a lot of things but the things I do are good and I was hugely disappointed when I knew if I hadn’t been up since 5am I could’ve went home and made myself a better meal. Do I plan on returning? No. Never. There are far too many better places in Columbus to dine at that have better and friendlier staff and way better food. Don’t waste your time here.
