A nice little surplus store, but not quite what I expected. I stopped in because I parked right across the street to go to Daredevil Dogs. I dunno. I’ve been to a lot of surplus stores that are bigger and have more of a selection. This is small, and cramped. There are plenty of uniforms, some backpacks, some boots. And that’s about it. Oh, some odds and ends(I got some insoles.) But not a place to browse for long. Service was great, prices are reasonable. A good place to have near campus, and a place to start for camping, etc. But you’ll need to go farther afield.

Great location. Great selection. I dealt with George… I think he’s the owner. Great, super friendly guy! I had a few boxes of military«stuff» I was looking to get rid of, and George helped take it of my hands! Looking around the store, this is a great place to get some awesome deals on camping gear, boots, cool military stuff. If your into hunting, etc, this a great place to get your camo gear at a huge discount over some of the big name sporting goods stores! If you’ve read any of my other reviews, you know I’m all about the bargains, and you will definitely find some here!

I would consider myself an advanced collector of militaria. I found this place fairly standard and boring. Pretty much like any regular Army/Navy place you might find. A little overpriced. Fine if you want a pea coat or something, but nothing special.

Bought a PeaCoat from here recently. Love it. Classic and such quality… worth every penny. A friend came over with the same coat on, Exactly. His dad was in the Navy and it was issued to him in the 60’s. Mine was brand new. We couldn’t tell them apart, except for the name patch stitched on the inside pocket of actual Seamen’s coat — so he could tell it apart from the thousands of other identical coats on board. I hope mine makes it 40 years and still looks like that.

This store is seriously awesome for anyone who is in need of durable material. This store, although not huge nor particularly varied, is the best i’ve come across here. It’s absolutely nothing compared to the ones in Maine, for example, but i’m sure they get far less business than the ones in Maine.

I feel almost bad giving Cousin’s Army Navy only three stars, ’cause it really is the best military surplus store around. Still, I can’t ignore that I’ve seen some very impressive military surplus stores in my life, and compared to those– even though they aren’t in Columbus– Cousin’s is merely average. Still, it’s right on campus and it’s not a bad store by any means! If you’ve never been to a military surplus store: first, I’m very sorry, but you’ve missed out. Secondly, it’s exactly what it sounds like: a place to buy just about anything military that isn’t a weapon(though they may sell knives). Need a canteen? Head to Cousin’s. Need a really warm winter coat? I got a Russian naval jacket here once, and damn, that was a warm-ass coat. Need military rations to eat on an extended adventure? Yup, they got MREs(that’d be Meals Ready to Eat, which my army buddies say are absolutely horrible). Custom dog tags? Head on in. There’s absolutely no reason to stop in here. It’s the best military surplus on campus, but a lot of that is by virtue of it being, yup, the only one. Still, it’s bigger than it has to be, and I absolutely love the old truck that’s always in the parking lot– does that thing even run?

I remember visiting Cousins Army-Navy more than a few years ago. I was blown away by their selection surplus military clothing, which for some reason at the time I thought was ultra cool. And I guess at the time it sort of was. Though my fashion sense has changed a bit, I’m still impressed with this little shop near OSU’s campus. To echo some other reviews, Cousins is a great place to pick up some outdoor gear or camping supplies — sleeping bags, mats and the like. And of course the prices are great. If this is your bag, you can’t do any better in central Ohio.

If you’ve had it up to here with overpriced vintage stores in Columbus are are simply looking to go back to basics, then look nor further than Cousins Army Navy Surplus, my friends. Sure, it smells like your grandpa’s attic and it might even have a pair of fatigues he wore in Korea, but I can guarantee you that your search for authentic military goods will always be brought to a pleasant conclusion when you check this place out. Although I’m not preferential to starchy clothing in camouflage or olive green prints, the miscellaneous supplies here like sleeping bags, tarps, canteens, and other military accessories along those lines are always exactly what I’m looking for prior to a trip that will take me deep in to the wilderness. Of Hocking Hills. Ok, so I’m not spelunking in the caves of central Kentucky or going on an endurance trek through the Blue Ridge mountains, but the prices and the selection of camping supplies here are among the best you’ll find anywhere in the city. In other words, you don’t need to drive an hour outside of the city to some Bass Pro Shop type place to find a decent propane stove or lantern for under fifty bones. Cousins has ya’ covered. If you are in to wearing military duds ironically, you won’t be disappointed with the offerings here. Cousins is filled to the brim with plastic bags full of cargo pants, jackets, vests, and whatever else you’d need to look like you’re in hot pursuit of a rogue squadron of Iraqi insurgents, even if you simply plan on walking around Easton all day with your girlfriend. This stuff is true military issue and is available at pretty decent prices, which is something even I can appreciate despite the military underpinnings. There really is something for everyone here.
