Very friendly staff who is as knowledgeable as they passionate. Went in to purchase sandals and ended up getting a fantastic pair! Way better than any big name retailer.

These guys know what they are selling, unlike their big box store competitors who don’t know the difference between capilene and smart wool :)

I found this place a few years ago & since then I have been hooked. They have a great selection of outdoor gear, kayaks & apperal for any level of enthusiast. The staff all have real life product knowledge so they can answer any question you have and you can’t beat the personal attention & tips they give you when gearing up for a trip.

I stopped in here on a whim since I’m in the market for a kayak… nice looking looking establishment… great prices on their kayaks… four visible associates working… One was assisting a customer and another folding shirts… The other two were shooting the breeze and to my amazement I was never acknowledged by anyone. Ill be sure to never return and shall spend my dollars elsewhere. How these places stay in business Ill never know. I’m not a young attractive female (grey hair middle age here guy… lol) so that probably has a lot to do with being ignored by the young staffers. Oh well, there are plenty of places that are glad to have my business.

A great outdoor store! There is a nice selection of items, ranging from clothes to shoes to gear for all sorts of outdoor pursuits. There is a wall full of backpacks, and tents and kayaks are on display throughout the store. The real highlight of visiting Outdoor Source is the friendly staff, who will answer any questions and provide suggestions and recommendations based on your specific needs and interests. Good place to keep in mind when you need gear.

This place is a one stop shop for all your outdoor needs! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! The store only carries high-​end gear, which the price reflects. However, they do price match so its a win win. I highly recommend The Outdoor Source to everyone in need of quality outdoor gear.

Great place for any level of outdoor enthusiast. Prices may be kind of pricey, but you get what you pay for. They carry top of the line gear and they have an incredibly knowledgeable staff.

In another word: Helpful.
If I had to pick between a cheaper mega store with absolutely no personal service, staff who acted like I was more trouble than anything else, and knew nothing about their products or a place like Outdoor Source, I’d pick Outdoor Source every time. No, they are definitely not the cheapest, but I have never stopped in and not been greeted. I have never had a question treated like it was a hassle to answer. I have never encountered a rude staff member, even during their recent big sale when things were insanely crazy.
If you find yourself needing something for your outdoor endeavors, you owe it to yourself to at least stop in and check this place out.

This store is the best, especially for beginners! Extremely helpful staff and good selection. If they do not have it, chances are they can order it for you!

Price matching, gear demos, two locations, and a knowledgable sales staff. It doesn’t get better than this. Eric C. even installed cross bars on my car, showing me the system nuances along the way. As I pulled away I saw him walk out to help another customer. Awesome.

In preparation for a month-​long backpacking trip, I needed a few unusual items. Much to my dismay, the big sporting good stores all over town had failed me in my search and the Almighty Google insisted I’d have to resort to overnight shipping to get the items in time. That’s when I remembered this quirky little Upper Arlington spot a rock climber friend had once taken me.
Outdoor Source is THE place in Columbus for camping, climbing, or any sort of outdoors gear you could ever dream of. They sell everything ranging from SmartWool socks to collapsible bowls to kayaks, and a million things in between. They have the best variety of (hiking) backpacks I’ve seen anywhere in Cbus (although $$$), but if you have one you bought elsewhere they’ll size it for you for $ 15.
The staff is very helpful and obviously knows their stuff. In my numerous inquiries of one item after the next, the guy assisting me could not only tell me which one was most popular, but explain even the minute differences between brands or varieties and what was best for what so I felt I could make a highly informed decision.
This shop is obviously for the serious adventurer, but even as a novice wannabe I felt comfortable. I’d definitely come back here should I ever embark on another backpacking expedition.

Standard outdoor shop affair…
has a good selection of boots, packs, kayaks, softgoods and other camping gear. The store is big so everything is well laid out.
As far as prices are concerned, they are on par with what the items are going for elsewhere.
Good inventory of clothing from technical to casual (for all of those patagucci wearing people like me)
Staff is friendly, if you have question just ask and they are more than willing to help.
