The Crest Tavern has been completely renovated, and the space is really nice! I just wish the whole experience was as great as the renovation. On a recent Saturday night, some friends and I decided to give the«new» Crest Tavern a shot, and honestly — I was underwhelmed by the service. It was downright strange. None of the staff were warm, friendly, or inviting. Everyone’s attitude was very nonchalant — like they didn’t give a shit if we were there or not. Nobody was rude, but the service was just a bit off. Kudos to the selection of drinks and for having cider on tap! And the cost was totally reasonable too. I’ll probably give Crest Tavern another chance, but I sure hope they get the service in gear.

Unpretentious, down-home townie bar. This is not a martini kind of place. It is where you go if you live in the neighborhood and want to drink some Natural Light. But that said, they do have some nice brews on tap — hadn’t tried Lagunitas IPA before but they had it on tap so I gave it a shot. The bartender was friendly and fun(but sadly, a little too married to be flirtable). It was a Tuesday night, so not very happening. But I kinda like that — bars are a lot more personal if you can strike up a convo with the person next to you, which is exactly what I did. Eventually we were all cracking jokes and buying each other shots. A great Columbus evening.
