I stopped in this place on a recommendation from a buddy. I was in town for a conference, and was in need of a café. Facility and atmosphere– very clean, and very relaxed. Four or five other customers were there minding their own business for the most part with some light chit chat. The barista knew some of them by name… very cool. The coffee– Ahh now the important part. I ordered the 7:01am which is a cup of coffee with a shot or two of espresso depending on which size you order. This is exactly what I needed, and it tasted better than I had hoped. It had a little kick, and a nice strong flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and took my time drinking it while I mooched some of their free wifi. I have only been here once, but cannot in good conscience give them any less than 5 stars. They provided everything that I hoped for… an urban coffee shop with great coffee!

This place sucks with their hours, I’ve tried multiple times to leave home early to get some coffee before work from them and they are never ever open by what the hours on the door say. I wish there was another coffee place open early in the Short North!

I love the people who work there, the coffee, the prices, the whole atmosphere is just great! I visit there at least five times a week.

3.5 stars, rounding down. I tend to come here for a Minty Mocha Freeze(is that what it’s called?) and a slice of spinach quiche – not that the quiche is anything remarkable. This Cup o’ Joe location features friendly-enough service and sufficient accommodations when the Short North is especially buzzing – such as during Gallery Hop – but for the most part, I suppose that the only one or two cashiers normally present can manage longer queues with patience. You can also find free local publications and other community-related literature at the counter.

CONFERENCEGOERS — if you’re tired of the butter-laden lunch you get at the convention center, escape and go here. Clean, good food — nice salads, soup, dessert. And fast with SUPER friendly service. An oasis from conference food

Love the way they make their coffee — and serve in real glassware — something the bux strays from! The breakfast sandwiches are slammin!

Another Cup O’ Joe, this one in the über trendy Short North, on the Cap. Parking can be a problem, depending on the time of day. Meters, so either bring change or a credit card. The coffee is great, of course, and there’s the usual COJ bagels, pattycake bakery goods, and house made cakes. MoJoe Lounge is right next store if you desire something more substantial. There’s a nice outdoor patio for great people watching in the warm weather.

In my non-coffee drinker’s perspective, this is the best coffee shop in town. Great atmosphere that is conducive to getting work done and having solid conversation. The offerings are solid, but this place is all about atmosphere. The patio is one of the best in town at the border between Short North and downtown. If you’re looking for food or drinks, you can pop over to the other side of the house to MoJoe Lounge, where their eats and beverages are underrated among the Columbus landscape. As a tea drinker, their selection is diverse, making this my go to stop for meetings, working away from the office or on the path for a night on the town.

I expected more. Four stars on Unilocal, and I thought my fellow Unilocalers would guide me to coffee gold. Instead I got this place. I’ll cut to the chase: it was crappy coffee(mocha) served by indifferent staff who clearly preferred that I curl up and die rather than bother their conversation to order some stupid coffee. I took my order to go and threw it in the first garbage can I found a block later. Total garbage. I was in town for work and I am glad I am separated from this place by several hundred miles because it offends me. It worries me that this place is harming the brand behind the name«Joe». Oh, and it was expensive. I did not care for Cup O’ Joe, and will not be returning for the entire rest of my life.

I love Cup O Joe! I get get enough of the White Elephant! Sooo good. This place is really cozy and in a great location near the convention center. My only critique would be that I wish it stayed open a bit later. I crave coffee mostly at night but only the bar half is open when I stop by. Seating is minimal and usually crumby. We usually opt to walk in the park & now that it’s colder coffee on a long walk is a must! SO4 stars instead of 3 because I cant help but love you despite the very few reasons I have to give you 3 stars. Cup o Joe. you rock! On a different note… you really should push this chain out east. We practically bleed coffee over there and I know theyre looking for an alternitve to Starbucks &DD. which is all they have. What better then COJ?

Dear Columbus, Why the heck do all the young women of Columbus wear yoga pants everywhere they go? Really… yoga pants at brunch, yoga pants at night, and yoga pants at the coffeeshop. Anyway, COJ has legit coffee. Tasty, inexpensive and complimented with free wifi.

Unique drink menu(both to beer and cocktails). Had an IPA to start and then tried their Jalepeno Mojito. Craziness… I wouldn’t get it again, but it was«interesting» to try. I felt like I was at the«Jeni’s Ice Cream» of cocktail lounges with that one. Anyway, nice, big patio with great people watching, good, personalized service, and the food is pretty good, too. Location is awesome — right on the Cap — so again, great for watching the day(or night) go by.

Small so yes — cozy. The boyfriend and I had just finished volunteering 2 hours of our time at the Columbus Commons for the Earth Day event. It was a gray, breezy, wet day in the low 40s, so we were pretty chilly. I had the Cherry Cordial and my boyfriend had the White Elephant. They weren’t as hot as I’d like it to be so we both drank our mediums pretty fast to warm up. MoJoe Lounge on the other side of the establishment was an experience with my sister a few years ago where the bartender’s name was Pants. He was funny and quite entertaining; a riot!

I sure could have used this place when I was in college. The coffee is great, the snacks are good and the atmosphere is perfect for studying, working or chatting with a friend. If my budget was limitless and calories didn’t count, I’d drink a Joe Cool every day. It’s iced coffee paired with some half & half and vanilla syrup. It’s my favorite summer drink.

Cup O Joe is a chain of coffee shops specifically located in Columbus Ohio. They have six locations all over the area and serve a pretty damn good cup of Joe. We stopped in here for a morning wake up, I needed something bold and dark for a day of walking N High Street and the Short North. Cup O Joe offers some great pastry, muffins, donuts, and great coffee and Teas. Unique sammies too if it’s too late for breakfast. Great art on the walls, comfortable seating areas, much a favorite of the locals and OSU students. Also, not sure if they pipe the music in, but they have great coffeehouse tunes playing in the background, not overpowering, just right. Nice relaxing atmosphere to settle down with a book and lose an afternoon.

I used to go to Cup O’ Joe when it first opened. It instilled a sense of pride in being able to support a local company. Now, since I’ve moved back and operate a sole proprietor/contractor, I was looking for a place to comfortably feel as my office away from home. For the past year, I go in around 3 times a week, order coffee and something to munch on, take a table in the lounge area and get to working. Almost every time I am there, I stay through to have lunch. Many of those times, someone joins me. What I am bothered by is the service by Dennis. Why is this man ALWAYS so unfriendly and often downright angry? I tip well. I am respectful of cleaning up after myself. If I think the place may start getting full and I am finished eating, I vacate. Still, he treats me as if I continually offend him. If I have come in prior to his serving tables, he will not come to see if I want an order. I have to go up to him to ask to order. Even though most every time I order. I want to have understanding and compassion for what makes someone tick or why they may be a bad mood every now again. So I asked another of the people who work with whom I have a good relationship. He says Dennis feels that I should tip him even on the days I simply sit at the table, when I don’t order from him. All while I am sitting there waiting for him to take an order from me. Maybe I am wrong on this, but I tip the folks at the counter when I order counter food. I tip Dennis when he services my table. I clean up my table and reset everything as other tables are set. I don’t understand the expectation that I should also leave a tip for sitting there. This location does a great business. The location is pretty great for many reasons. But I know many people local residents who definitively do not return to this Cup O’ Joe because of their experiences with Dennis. BTW — in case you have not experienced any of what I am talking about, there are many anecdotes of his rather surly behaviour, including witnessing him on several occasions chasing customers down the street to tell them he feels they didn’t tip him and his surly service enough. I finally had enough. There are many places which offer great coffee, tasty eats, internet service, a chance to commune, with friendly servers.

Love the coffee. Dig the free wi-fi. An amazingly convenient location. Food/snacks are decent. The morning baristas are normally the nicest. And the community info shelf is my go-to place for grabbing my alternative weekly papers and event fliers. BUT damn it if the tables aren’t always dirty and covered in crumbs from the person who sat there before me!

Cup O’ Joe is my go-to place for coworking or taking clients if I’m downtown, but the most recent experience I had with their desserts was so bad, I’ve knocked off two stars. Cup O’ Joe is a pretty standard coffee shop. Good drinks, good vibe, and comfy seats(always gotta have comfy seats) make it a great place to go to read, relax, or meet with friends or clients. The attached Mojo Lounge and its generous happy hour makes the transition from«coworking» to «going out» dangerously easy. In general, this is an awesome place. The last time I was there I got a hazelnut torte. This thing was an abomination to all things delicious. The crust was chewy and awful, and the torte itself was rubbery and tasted of Arm and Hammer baking soda trying to mask refrigerator air. Maybe I was the lucky 100th customer and they gave me the special one that had been in the back of the refrigerator for three weeks? Terrible tortes aside, Cup O’ Joe is a fun place to hang out, and I will definitely go back but will think twice before trying another dessert.
