I need to be nice and remember to update my older reviews… especially when things go right! I’ve been to DiBella’s a handful more times, and things have improved. The ordering process is still kinda… Bleh. They have red ordering numbers for carryout and black for dine-in, but it doesn’t seem to matter to the crew making the sandwiches. Not good practice, because people look at you like, ‘Why are you standing here? They bring it out to the table’ When the fact is, I’ve placed a carry out order. This is probably one place you’ll need to research before stopping in here. The signs aren’t really easy to navigate through, and are placed in an odd far left area of the ordering counter. Subs shouldn’t be that hard to order, but DiBella’s make no accommodation to their products, or toppings. Sub sizes are deceiving. Small: Perfect for one person and will fill you up nicely. Medium: Probably should share that with two, but maybe you’re just beast-mode hungry. Large: Dude, are you SERIOUSLY going to eat that 2 feet worth of sub? The bread here is good. I stick with plain, and it suffices. My sub of choice is the ‘Old Fashioned’ with extra cheese, and minimal toppings. I do not suggest the Oil/pepper blend they offer. God Awful. Toasted is best, but you’ll add an extra 2 – 5 minutes on your wait time. Once you find your combo, I think you’ll be able to appreciate DiBella’s a bit more. It took two crappy subs for me to figure this out. Third time’s a charm, I guess. I like the design of the restaurant altogether. It’s a nod to their past, even with 1930’s-40’s music playing overhead. Lunch time is crazy. Dinner time is for most part… dead. Ok, Dibella’s you’ve won another star to my Unilocaling heart.

As someone from upstate NY you had a sub shop at every wegmans which was a Dibellas. The bread is amazing, the lunch meat isn’t questionable like subway or the other sub shops. You just feel satisfied crushing a large sub even if you feel ashamed you ate the whole thing in your heart you don’t care cause it was worth every calorie.

Tried this sub shop for the first time today. I ordered the godfather and it was pretty tasty. The bread is good but it is a little much. Definitely a good place to go when I get tired of my other sub shops. Too bad it’s on the other side of town from me

Disappointed, been a customer for years, last 2 times food has not been prepared with the same kind of love I have grown accustomed to. Also the staff was rude and unwilling. The worst level of service I have experienced at a restaurant in columbus. I will not be going back any time soon.

they blew the order, had the wrong meat on it. The sandwich itself was a giant mushy mess. I ate ¼ of it and threw the rest away. Not worth getting the order corrected, as the replacement would just be another soggy mess. The corned beef they gave me instead of the godfather, was too salty. Just not very good.

Love this place! Great selection on sandwiches and the bread they use really good. Toppings are always fresh. Get their oil on your next sub! Always friendly people, and the price is fair for the great quality of food.

It was my first time there with my girlfriend, my girlfriend got the buffalo chicken and I got the cowboy. Both our subs were so f***ing delicious. The potato salad was so good, we just want more. Next time we go, we’re going to clear off the shelf and get every container of potato salad.

Okay, I don’t usually give many five stars, but this place deserves it. The subs here are amazing. I ordered a medium 10″ Godfather sub and I couldn’t finish it all — and I’m a pretty big eater. It was so packed with meat and veggies I could barely bite into it. DiBella’s bread selection is a little different from what I’m used to seeing at other sub shops. This time I went with a sesame roll. You have the option of toasting your sub or having it regular. I went with toasted, so all the cheese was melted into the toppings — delicious! I’m not sure what sauce they use on all of their subs, but for the Godfather it tasted similar to Italian dressing. It really complimented the meats nicely. The inside of DiBella’s is really done up well. With booth seating, they have it decorated to look old fashioned. The surroundings and seating are both very comfortable. I’ll definitely be making DiBella’s my «go to» place for getting an excellent submarine sandwich.

Seems to be a good place, but they need better customer service. I called three times, the first time I was put on hold for a long time with no one picking back up. The second time my call was answered and no one spoke, I could just hear them talking in the background. The third time, it just rang completely through. Looks like I’m eating elsewhere tonight!

Dibellas is the best sub joint I’ve been to. Somebody please tell me a «better» place to get subs(within the outerbelt mostly) so I can go there, eat, and then tell you how wrong you are. Always get the Godfather. Sometimes add bacon because beetus

Four stars for the food, two for the service. The Godfather is quite nice, especially grilled and on the Everything bread(I’m a sucker for combinations of Italian meats). The toppings won’t blow your mind, but the core of the sandwich is good. The chocolate chip cookies are delicious too. The process of actually ordering a sub seems to be more complicated than necessary, though. Each employee brings a ticket up with spaces for all the relevant questions — bread, cheese, toppings, dressings, etc. — but those questions get asked and followed about 50% of the time(many times I’ve found totally different toppings or dressings on the final product). Then, there’s the awkward part that, after ordering, you’re asked to take a number and then recap your order verbally to a cashier 20 feet away — no carbon copy ticket or electronic system? Though it’s not inherently their fault, the atmosphere is off-putting as it’s quite a large space that’s usually empty and very plainly laid out. Great food(when consistently delivered), awkward experience. If you’re looking for a sub in the area, you could do worse.

Just ate a medium Dagwood and got the«Everything-bread» and wow, it’s much better than just getting the wholegrain option. The sandwich was very filling, probably will just get a small next time and they messed up my order but I had to go 1 star higher as I think the meats, cheese and veggies on this sub were top notch!

Seeing the reviews, I gave this place a shot especially since I live ½ mile from here, I need to find a dining option close by. I was deeply disappointed. Sub and chips — $ 9 wasn’t bad. Ordered the roast beef with au jus. It was NOT prepared fresh as they got the roast beef out of the frig, placed it in the warm au jus sauce for about 90 seconds and then wrapped it up. After taking out the roast beef, they then scooped au jus out of said container as my sauce to take home. No terribly surprised — 10 min later when I was eating my wrapped sandwich — the meat was so cold that I had to warm the sandwich in the microwave. In addition, due to the reheat the meat was soggy and not as tender. Feel totally ripped off.

Their bread choices are Sesame, Multigrain, Everything or Plain-love the Everything. Reminiscent of an everything bagel, which I love. For lunch I got a Medium $ 7.69 DiBella’s Cheesesteak(grilled steak with melted cheese of your choice and grilled peppers & onions.) Added some banana peppers and it was perfect. Hot and fresh. Just wish I could find some hot sauce somewhere, unless I overlooked it… I will say that there is a lot of bread to the sandwiches, which was one complaint of a coworker. Yet, complimented the thinly sliced meats on the Italian Sorted sub. Also, I think a Small would suffice most. I could have saved half my Medium for later, but chose to finish it off because it was pretty tasty. Ordering gets a little confusing-not a fan of the setup. Hate to say but I was a little confused, as were others. When you walk in it’s not that confusing where to go but the process isn’t exactly like that of other sub shops. Note that there are drinks in three different locations. Also, you need a number card to take with you to your table so they can bring out your sub. So, don’t wait at the order/prep counter for your food. Order, grab your number, grab a side and/or bottled drink, pay at the register(where you’ll find huge cookies), grab your fountain drink(if you bought one) and sit down. To find it, keep on the lookout for the huge red DiBella’s sign out front along Tuttle Crossing BLVD. Large space with roomy booths and tables-great for lunch groups.

Sorry, DiBella’s. I don’t get it. I stopped into your restaurant today and expected some killer sandwiches. Instead, what I received, was stale, tasteless bread and ordinary ingredients. I took two bites and threw the sandwich away. Total waste. I want my $ 6 dollars back! I had high hopes. I truly love sandwiches. But DiBella’s broke my heart. The place is huge and there was barely any business — atmosphere kinda sucked. It still took 5 – 10 minutes for them to prepare my food — also very strange. A symptom of bad management. Go with Grinders sandwiches which is not far away — they make the best sandwich in Columbus.

I have tried Subway, Firehouse, Jersey Mikes, Bellacino’s, WG Grinders, Jimmy Johns and Quiznos. They have some of the best Submarine sandwiches in town. All ingredients are fresh and the bread is baked daily. Try the everything bread with a sweet sauce and grilled meat. They also have really good fresh baked cookies. If you like Jersey Mikes then you will like the flavor and quality of their subs. Jersey Mikes and DiBella’s have the best Submarine sandwiches in town.

I got pickup for a quick dinner one night. I called and they had my godfather sub ready for me. I got the medium and it was HUGE! I also got a side of pasta salad, not so great. I tried some one my boyfriends cookie and I would defiantly get a cookie instead of a side. Overall if we want a quick sub we will go back.

Perhaps the rave reviews had me anticipating more, but I just wasn’t super impressed with my experience at DiBella’s. I had the grilled veggies with whole grain bread and my wife had the buffalo chicken on sesame seed. Not terrible, not great… just sort of there. Perhaps we should have gone with some of the recommended choices, though. The restaurant is a nice space and the staff is friendly, so this is a cut above your average Subway. If you’re out in the ‘burbs near Tuttle and your hungry, this isn’t a bad choice. I wouldn’t recommend specifically making a trip out here just for a meal, though.

(Insert big national sub chain name here) this ain’t. No, you won’t get all the selection that you do at one of those place. However, you also don’t get weird smelling bread or deli meats that are of indeterminate age. These are the subs I grew up with so I might be biased. The bread is baked fresh throughout the day and it shows because that is what shines here. I always get the Godfather on the everything bread, it is my favorite. Again, biased. This place is worth trying for when you want something different than the usual sub shop.
