Great items. Awesome jewelry. A bit over-priced for most items. But, a great place to splurge on that really cool dress or top!

Ey Yei Yei! So many cute hand-picked items in one tiny store! I was on overload. It pains my heart I couldn’t sacrifice paying my car payment and rent to afford all the things I wanted — but the items were indeed difficult to pass up. Sizes were sporadic but there were plenty of options if they couldn’t find your size in what you really wanted. Cute bags, dresses, belts, sweaters, scarves, a couple pairs of shoes. I was surprised by how many items they were actually able to cram in there. The girl who was working was attentive, but not overbearing, and I was able to do some browsing without feeling awkward because I was being stared down. To my delight I did find a sale rack with quite a few in and out-of season items. I quite like this place, so I’ll be sure to save up a little before my next visit so I splurge a little more!

How do I love Ladybird? Let me count the ways… 1. a great range of price points.(I’ve gotten a denim jacket for $ 70 and a dress for $ 140…there are shirts for $ 25)… 2. an eclectic mix of style(vintage and rocker chic, well-known designers and up-and-coming fashion labels) 3. allison is fun, helpful and has a fabulous sense of style(she’ll give you her honest opinion rather than try to sell you a dress just to make money) 4. and you can’t beat the location.(right next to Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams)

Ladybird is a great mix of new and vintage women’s items. The owner, Allison, has great taste and puts everything together for a very distinctive look. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous as well. If only she had enough space to expand her offerings to guys.

Stopped into Ladybird last weekend and found some great dresses on sale. They have a nice selection of jewelry right now and as always some great vintage pieces. Don’t put your fall look together without stopping in!

I went in here last night looking for a dress for an event this weekend and remembered this place had good sales in between seaons. I didn’t even realize this store had changed ownership until i walked into the sleek new design. I found the jewelry to be most appealing if you like simple costume or silver chains and small earrings. Jewelry ranges in price from $ 20-$ 45 and seems worth it. The collection in general is unique. Clothing is pretty basic styles and a few retro mod pieces ranging from jackets to jeans and plenty of knit shirts. I tried on a cute cotton dress that was reasonably priced. While I was in the room the clerk received a call and I heard her chatting. I was pleased to see that as soon as I left the changing room she put the phone down and was very attentive. Prices range from $ 40-$ 200. Judging by the style quality and designers this is reasonable and worth it. Nice new addition to the Short North clothing scene.

I went into Ladybird this week. Ladybird took over the spot where Ivy Hill used to be. It opened November 1. It’s much the same as Ivy Hill. The store offers a lot of accessories, but they have a fair selection of clothing too. I really liked the structure of some of the pieces I saw, including a basic white button-down with a little attitude. The belts, scarves, and bracelets I saw were all girly and colorful with a vintage twang, very cute. There were bows and flower patterns on a lot of the stuff. The design of the store is pretty cool as well. The walls are painted a dark blue, and everything has a rustic, antique feeling. There’s an old yellow couch in the window, a clunky, beat-up dresser filled with goodies on a side wall. Of course, there are birds everywhere but not in a creepy way. The owner, Allison, was friendly. I talked to her about how quickly she was able to change the bright, white Ivy Hill home into her own space. She admitted it was a whirlwind, but she seemed very enthusiastic about the opening.
