I’ve been to the high street location as well as the Gahanna location. Overall, I would describe Local Cantina as a artisan taco and beer restaurant. It has an excellent atmosphere for a group of friends to eat, drink, and laugh. Service is always accommodating and ready to make recommendations. They offer a wide selection of unique tacos ranging between $ 3-$ 5. Generally we like to order 2 tacos per person as well as an appetizer to share. Free chips and salsa is an excellent bonus! Flavor is good, beer is excellent, and location is trendy. I actively recommend Local Cantina to anyone looking for somewhere to have a fun dinner. Cheers

My wife and I stopped by for brunch today… fyi Brunch specials is only on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am-4pm. And chips and salsa bar while you wait for your food or drinks. Was my first time and absolutely love this place. I ordered the Gravy train which came with jalapeño cornbread topped with chorizo sausage gravy, eggs and bacons. It was really good. Would definitely come back for more.

My new, favorite hang out. The staff is awesome. The food is outstanding and really reasonably priced. Guac 4 bucks! Margaritas(especially the mustache ride) go down really easy. They have a great happy hour(although it would be better if it went till 7 and included some food items) and Taco Tuesday isn’t to be missed. 2 bucks for any taco ALL day. All you can eat chips and salsa. Seriously friendly and welcoming. Parking’s a little difficult as they have a super small lot.

Food was amazing, outside of being far too salty. LOVED the salsa and the serve-yourself chips and salsa bar! The kitchen went above and beyond to cook fresh beef when I told the server of my deadly seafood allergy and needed my meat to be cooked away from the shrimp.(Most places don’t seem to care about folks with allergies) The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because of their drink prices. I paid $ 12.50 for a single shot of bourbon. I’ve ordered the same bourbon almost everywhere I go and never paid more than $ 7. Maybe it’s to offset their very low food prices? Overall: Food great, skip the drinks.

So here I was just tootling along, and suddenly the heavens opened up, the angels sang, and light shone down upon this fabulous little structure… with tacos, alcohol, and sports. The amazing JESS spent a good five minutes making me an Old Fashioned that was filled with the nectar of the Zods, a fancy ass cherry like none I’ve ever seen before, and ice cubes… THATAREACTUALMOTHER F’INGCUBES! I didn’t go with tacos, though. Instead, I rolled with Huevos Rancheros. For the last 30 years I have had ONE place where I would eat Huevos Rancheros because it was my favorite. My absolute favorite. It’s the only thing I will order there. And now I may never have it, again… because I ordered it here(had them add chorizo) and it was absolutely lovely. The service, the food, the drinks, and the atmosphere are simply fabulous. You can go there and watch the Browns lose and not care because your gullet is constantly filled with glee.

Walked in to the busiest most disorganized mess I’ve ever seen. Place is too small compared to the Gahanna location. Wish I could have experienced anything else but after waiting five minutes for anyone to even recognize us waiting to be put on a list and being ignored by three separate staff when asking about said list, we decided to cut our losses and leave. I guess these other lucky five star reviewers were able to get a table. Hopefully it will die down sometime so I’ll get the chance as well. Cool tip too, enjoy all of the wonderful flavors passed on by a random bearded hipster barehanding the chips out of the free chips & salsa bar. Another thing that made it easy to walk.

Between the Gahanna and Grandview locations, this has probably been the best Local Cantina I’ve been to so far. It’s not very big, but we were there on a Saturday night and were easily able to get a table for 8 of us. Just like the rest of the locations, they have a great draft selection with a whole bunch of local beers, and I’m not much of a margarita fan, but everyone who ordered one seemed to be enjoying it. What really made this place better, in my opinion, was the food. The chips were crispy and fresh, unlike the ones I’ve had at Grandview which seem to be often stale. The tacos I ordered were fantastic, and all of the meats inside were cooked perfectly. I tried the Cantina Fish for the first time, and I wish I would have ordered several, because the fluffiness of the fish combined with the chipotle cream instantly made it one of my favorites. I also highly recommend getting any of the meats Cantina Truck Style with just cilantro and onions. It’s my favorite way to have tacos normally, but they really load up the meat for you. The chorizo is the way to go! I don’t know if I was really digging the chorizo and egg taco though. The egg was cooked a little too much for me, and if I’m getting an egg in a taco, I want the yolk to spill out into it and combine with the meat. Other than that, everything else was excellent. This place is brand new so hopefully they continue to stay consistent, and if you’re looking for a place in the Brewery District to grab a quick bite(the food comes out quick) before a night of bar hopping, then this is the place to go.

Taco Tuesday? Yes, please!!! This new restaurant has already won me over! While I do miss Einstein’s Bagels, the Local Cantina is a great replacement! The restaurant is small but created in a way so that there’s plenty of seating. They also have the ever-popular garage door wall that can be opened on beautiful days to let the fresh air take over. I liked the concept of being able to get one’s own chips and salsa because it meant my friends and I were able to start snacking right away. On Tuesdays, they offer their delicious tacos for only $ 2. I ordered three and it was the perfect lunch! I tried the grilled chicken, carnitas, and shrimp and all were equally delicious! The service was quick and efficient. I never had to wait for a refill and neither did any of my companions. The parking lot is very small but there is street parking nearby and it is only a block from the Sycamore/High CBUS stop. I will definitely be going back to try their drinks and their brunch menu that looked amazing! It appears as though they have a nice happy hour from 3 – 6 daily so I will stop in to check that out soon, too!

My friends and I went here on a whim on a Friday night recently. We walked in and put our name down for a table and didn’t wait longer than 10 minutes. This place was PACKED too. The chips & salsa were self serve and we’re delicious. We split a queso and that was equally great. The baja shrimp taco was my favorite of the ones I got, though non eof the ones I got were bad. We’ve heard good things about Taco Tuesday here and plan on going back for that. The staff was awesome and the margs were on point.

As always… The food is wonderful… The margaritas are some of the best in town… The only issue I have is that the music is always playing so loud… And it seems like everybody is shouting at each other… Does not make for a pleasant dining experience

Perfect neighborhood bar. Perfectly fills a Mexican void here in the neighborhood. Great hole in the wall kitschy ambiance. Great TVs for catching a game. Parking along Frankfort or north on Front is convenient and well lit. I can’t recommend enough the Ron Burgundy quesadilla. Not sure if it’s the ‘chicken of the cave’ or what, but it’s delicious.

I loved this place. When you walk in there is a sign asking you to pick a spot and help yourself to chips and salsa. I think of this as a plus in two ways, you don’t have to wait for your wait person to help you with this and you can make as many trips as you like. The downside to this situation though is that in busy times it may take them a moment to realize someone new came in. This happened to us but the management was super apologetic when I asked for menus and water. Beyond that small hiccup which I have no doubt will in time work itself out, the food and service is outstanding. The chipotle vinegarette dressing is super spicy so beware. If you can stand the heat, go for it. The fish tacos come battered(the real way all fish tacos should) with a super tasty slaw. Loved the side of rice which was not at all dry like most Mexican establishments. Super stoked on this addition to the GV area. More reasonable priced yet healthy options are badly needed and we are definitely going to be regulars. In fact, we debated returning today but decided that it might be embarrassing to come back two days in a row. P. S.: $ 2 taco Tuesday’s !!!
