This place is AMAZING! Great food & drinks & service! I come here often and get their specialty drinks which are very strong and are well worth every penny! The steaks are very delicious, you don’t need any sauce, it’s well seasoned. Can’t wait to go back, I’ve been craving the 8 oz filet with the signature truffle Mac n cheese it’s AMAZING I highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I came here to enjoy a night out. Upon arrival the hostess looked us up and down and decided to place us in a back room– I was wearing a pencil skirt and nice top while my boyfriend was in nice jeans and a button down. We were placed in the corner of the private room 2 and I was extremely disappointed. I felt like we were on the misfit island. It was so bizarre and I almost had the audacity to ask to be moved. I don’t want to come off as pretentious, but we go out a lot and we really wanted to enjoy the atmosphere of The Ocean Club. I felt that being shoved in the corner took away half of the experience. Onto the service– our server was cool and chill. Not the same type of professionalism you’d expect at the Refectory or Ruth’s Chris, but we still liked him a lot. We each got a cocktail– passion fruit and the elderflower– they were good and had dry ice in then which was cool. As appetizers we ordered the surf and turf– Scallops, mashed potatoes, and bomb short rib– hearty, umami-yum! We also ordered the chilled crab meat cocktail and the shrimp sauté. The shrimp was a bit fibrous, but the sauce was delicious. The crab was tasty too! We then had a bottle of the Starmont cabarnet and it had an awesome smoky flavor! We moved onto a Cesar salad and the lobster bisque. The bisque was tasty and they poured the soup on top of the croutons and lobster once it reached the table. My Cesar was ok, not amazing, not bad. Main courses: we ordered the blackened snapper, grouper, truffle Mac and cheese and the creamed spinach. Snapper was very good! Lots of flavor and delicious with the corn spoon bread. My grouper was different… It was in a broth with peas, some gnocchi, and the fish had a tomato sauce/paste on top which was a strange flavor mixed with the almost chicken like broth. The Mac and cheese was absolutely delicious! Anything truffle wins my vote! The creamed spinach was smokey and made with bacon fat. Overall the food was pretty good! However, the experience for $ 350 that we spent was seriously lacking. This is why I took away 2 stars. We are huge foodies and like to try lots of things, ambience in a restaurant like The Ocean Club is important– I felt like we didn’t have any type of feel for the restaurant and I was very disappointed with this part of the experience.

Meh. In terms of cocktail and desserts, it was pretty good. I heard it was a great place for dessert and drinks and I had a craving for carrot cake($ 11). Since they have the reputation of having the best in Columbus, I had to try it. Pretty good. A tall slice of ten layers held together with a subtle cream cheese frosting and thankfully no chunks of fruit like you find in some. I could have done without the Pineapple Syrup but that’s me be picky. Other than that, I might get it again. Worth $ 11, not too sure. I’ve definitely had better for cheaper but I recommend you trying it or yourself. The Black Orchid cocktail($ 11) was beautiful, accented with what looked to be an orchid flower frozen inside an ice cube sphere, but I didn’t care for the choice of raspberry vodka. Made it taste too artificial. The Pear Grapefruit Fizz($ 12) definitely wasn’t worth the price point, leaving me wanting a lot more out of it. Tasted flat, in flavor and texture. I definitely need to try the dinner menu and report back.

This was probably one of the best fine dinners I’ve had at a fine dining establishment in my life. 1) The service was amazing. We were never left wondering where our waiter was and he was very knowledgeable about the menu. 2) the atmosphere was also great. I was there for an after work dinner. And all 6 of us in attendance were floored from the time we walked in until the time we left. 3) the best part was the food!!! I had the ahi tuna tartare: Amazing. The Chilean sea bass: Amazing. The tater tots for the table: best tater tots I’ve had in my life. I believe there was Gouda cheese in them. Warm butter cake with ice cream on top for desert: simply amazing! I will be back for a nice dinner with my wife one day!

My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary dinner. The place is very nicely set up, and gorgeous. The service was awesome! Never left us needing something, we were always taken care of. It was a little loud for fine dining though. I expected to be a little less noisy and more romantic. I guess it’s not the restaurants fault though, they don’t actually have a noise policy, lol. Would have been a lot nicer if it were a little more quiet to make it romantic. The food was delicious, portions however were a little small for the prices. Which are super freaking expensive. We both ordered steak with some sides. The steaks came out beautifully cooked and melted in our mouths! The calamari and lobster mashed potatoes we ordered came out just as nice. My only problems are the small portion sizes with very large prices and the loud atmosphere. This won’t be stopping me from dining here again though. To be more specific on the pricing part. For two drinking water ordering steaks and two sides it was around $ 130. BUT since it was for a special occasion they served us yummy carrot cake on the house which was very nice! I guess that’s their thing. Which is pretty cool!

Another trip to Ocean Club, and yet again another home run! My fiancée and I decided to go out for a nice dinner this evening, and we decided on the Ocean Club as it has yet to let us down. Once again, this proved true! We arrived at around 5:20 pm for our 5:30 reservations and were seated immediately. As always, we had a fantastic server; on this occasion it was Nick. We started off with a Passion Martini for me and a Black Orchid for the future wife. Both were great, and I even ended up going with a second Passion Martini because it was so delicious(along with fun, it’s one of the drinks that smoke when it’s poured!). The typical Ocean Club bread bowl came out, which is always superb. Some pretzel bread sticks along with what I think is a loaf of sourdough. Fantastic! We got our orders in for some appetizers: the Point Judith Calamari(this is a MUST every visit! SOGOOD!), and I asked NIck his opinion on the Shrimp Sauté vs the Crab Cake. He suggested the Sauté and it turned out to be a great choice. Three large crostini type breadsticks with cheese on top resting in a delicious Tabasco cream sauce, with four GARGANTUAN shrimp, which were perfectly cooked. My fiancée wanted to drink up the broth, it was that delectable! In the past, we’ve also tried the Fondue, which was great, but on that occasion we had a larger party to share with so it made a little more sense. Still, at the end of the night, we ended up with 2 bags of food to take home so that point might be moot! Our entrees for the night were the Yellowfin Tuna(w/fava beans, marbled potatoes, and truffle jus) for me; my better half had the Lobster Bisque along with the Chop Chop Salad. As always, everything scored high across the board. The tuna melted in my mouth! I tried a sample of the Bisque and wish I had a cup of it as well. I didn’t try the salad but my date said it was fantastic as well. Along with all of this, we ordered a side of the lobster mashed potatoes, which, honestly, how could you go wrong with that? Fantastic! We had to decline on desert(unfortunately) because we both were stuffed, and ended up leaving with a full box of the calamari, along with the extra bread, soup, and mashed potatoes that we couldn’t finish. I promise all of you, within the next two hours(it is currently 1:33AM), those will be gone. No which way about it! I don’t know at this point what other praises I can give this restaurant. I’ll leave it in the words of my fiancée after she took her first bite of the Shrimp Sauté: «Honestly, I don’t know if you can go wrong with anything here.» I agree wholeheartedly; we have never had anything here that we didn’t enjoy immensely. Yes, you will pay a little more than if you were to hit up something like Northstar, or Applebee’s, but the food is in a whole other stratosphere compared to those places. And somehow it’s still cheaper than other«fine dining» in the Easton area! Go, and go now. Call ahead and have that calamari waiting for you for when you get there. You will not be disappointed, and your addiction will begin. The sweetest addiction I’ve ever had!

Date night go to! It’s too expensive to eat at on a regular basis for me but it’s fabulous for treating yourself or for date night! I am amazed of how fresh the seafood tastes, something I feel you don’t get too often in land locked Ohio… And the desserts are always on point. The last dessert I had was the butter pound cake, warm and delicious!

This is one of the best fish places in town. It’s located in Easton, and has great ambience. A big negative however is that inside it is VERYLOUD. They seriously need to consider putting some insulators to dampen the noise. The last few times it has been difficult to have a conversation even when the restaurant is not that busy. Outside seating in the summer is great though. I’ve tried a variety of different fish dishes here and never been disappointed. I used to order the Chilean sea bass before it got put on the endangered list :(. But you really can’t go wrong if you are a fan of fresh fish. The lobster bisque is excellent, as are their crab cakes. The blackened snapper and the Yellowfish tuna are delicious as well. I would give it five stars if not for the sound issue.

As my 1st time back here in about 10 years, I was anxiously awaiting this visit for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. The service and food did not disappoint. We started off with a wedge salad and calamari. Even split between 2 people the salad was a nice portion, and the calamari had a nice sweet yet slightly spicy sauce. For entrees we had the seafood bass and ribeye/Oscar style. Everything was so good! Fish and steak cooked perfectly. We also had a side of the lobster mashed potatoes. I’ve had these before at M, another Cameron Mitchell restaurant and couldn’t wait to try again. They put ALOT of lobster in it so I definitely think the price is worth it. Also, the cocktails here are like works of art. It was my 1st time trying the Black Orchid which is probably the most popular cocktail at CM restaurants. While it is good, I think the Bubbles and Berries is my favorite. It’s a real show when they pour it up for you. When I made my reservation on Open Table I mentioned it was my birthday and they did bring it up during service. My boyfriend and I both got complimentary desserts. Not your typical little birthday cupcake or anything either. I had a berry cheesecake and his was something with chocolate and peanut butter. It was honestly some of the best cheesecake I’ve ever had. The other dessert tasted like a big Reese’s cup! Delicious, but probably not for people who don’t like really rich desserts. While it’s not someplace most people can dine at regularly, it’s a great pick for a special occasion. Before I forget, the outdoor terrace is covered/heated during the winter! Big plus! We were able to sit in view of the holiday lights :-)

This is one of my favorite places to go when I am in Columbus. The fact it’s upstairs in the Easton Town Center Mall you would think you were in another world the atmosphere here is really nice. The service here is great, especially at the bar. The food is always great. My last visit came to meet friends so we sat at the bar and our bartender was attentive had water right away and he was ready for my drink order. I love that! They have a great wine menu and specialty drinks there is something for everyone. This place is always busy so that tells you something. Cheers!

The fresh oysters were presented on an iced bed of sea weed with lemon, fresh horseradish, and cocktail sauce. Our filet was seasoned just enough to accentuate without overpowering the quality of the beef and cooked to our exact specification. The waitress was prompt and courteous and the table presentation and maintenance was worthy of a 4 star establishment. This was our second visit with the same first rate experience. The only drawback was the level of noise which is understandable in a popular restaurant on a Friday night.

Mitchell’s Ocean’s Club is an upscale seafood favorite. As you’d imagine it is one of the wonderful Cameron Mitchell restaurants, which usually indicates that the meal is going to be high caliber. It is nicely nestled on the second floor of Easton Town Center Mall. The interior was filled with upscale Maritime décor from the portholes and wooden-clad pillars. It reminded me of being on a luxury cruise liner. As for options, there is a myriad of both seafood and steak options. Since it’s considered an «Ocean Club», I opted for the Chilean Sea Bass, which I’ve had before at one of its competitors. The Sea Bass arrived steaming hot with a slightly flaky crust — just how I like it. The fish tasted fresh and was full of flavor. The fish was decently sized and I could barely finish it since it was so rich. My only gripe was that the sauce was a little oily and just didn’t pair as well with the fish. I preferred pan Asian style that is offered at other restaurants. Final verdict: I’d definitely come here again, but would probably reserve ordering Chilean Sea Bass at a restaurant that offers it pan Asian style. Also, I was happy to report service was phenomenal.

«Are you celebrating anything?», they ask. No, just enjoying great food on a Tuesday. My husband and I wanted to be pampered and have a good night out without our munchkin. This is definitely the place to do that. From the beautiful ambiance and great service. We started off with a few hand crafted cocktails and the calamari. We kept with the seafood theme and ordered the twin lobster tails and the crabcakes. We didn’t order extra sides knowing the food portions are small but very flavorful and appetizing. We eat with or eyes as much as our taste buds and Cameron Mitchells never fails on presentation. We actually split our meals and left the right amount of full. Not the full you want to go home and lay down full but the full that you are satisfied and could go out afterwards. This is our top dining choice in Columbus for a more up scale dining experience. We will be back soon for sure.

I got married last week(whoo!) and we were looking for a somewhat fancier restaurant to celebrate without the rest of the family around. The Ocean Club fit the bill very nicely. Not only was the food fantastic but the service was stellar. We made reservations off their website(super easy) and mentioned that we would be celebrating our wedding and love desserts. When we arrived for our reservations, we found a bottle of champagne waiting for us and our server informed us that dessert was on the house.(The champagne was a gift from my in-laws.) Then he popped the bubbly and we went to town on the menu. We started with the jumbo crab cake. Our server had the kitchen split it for us so we didn’t have to fight over it. It was really good; a lot of crab, a little cake and some damn tasty sauce on top. Just enough heat to balance the sweet crab. For dinner, I went with the blackened snapper and my husband went for the twin lobster tails. The snapper was fantastic and the jalapeño spoonbread was so tasty. The lobster tails were a good size and my hubby enjoyed them very much. Another tic in the«awesome service» category: when he had emptied one of the shells, our server stopped by to remove it. At any other place, the shells would’ve stayed until they bused the table. For dessert, well, we ended up having both of our desserts comped. I went with the 10 layer carrot cake and he went for the warm butter cake. Both were awesome. I brought about half the carrot cake home and had it for breakfast the next day. We had a great time here and, since it is pricey, we’ll be back for a special occasion.

Good, but could have been great! The consistency of highly rated reviews brought me to Mitchell’s on a Monday night after a day of training teachers. The ambiance was welcoming and eloquent, so I immediately felt awkward in my t-shirt, casual pants, and sandals. I steered myself towards the bar hoping to find a haven and stumbled upon the last 15 minutes of happy hour + discount bar menu! I quickly ordered a Cab($ 7) and the calamari w/chili oil($ 7). Both were delicious, but I could tell that my squid was a bit overdone and chewy. A patron to my left actually stopped eating his because he said it was too overdone. Me, I powered through because the chili dressing was so crazy delicious I didn’t really care. Let’s be honest, at times food is merely a vessel to get the sauce/dressing in your mouth. This was one of those cases. From the myriad reviews, I knew I should go with the Blackened Snapper and ordered another glass of wine(suddenly prices jumped from $ 7 to $ 12 – 15). I knew I’d be going over budget, but when my days typically start with yogurt for breakfast and a granola bar for lunch, I’m apt to delve into dinner and felt this would be the place to do it. When it arrived, the presentation of my fish was haphazard. Seeing images of the dish regularly on the Unilocal site, I had expected a whole fillet. I, however, was presented with three pieces all tilted uniquely at different angles with random vegetables and a hollandaise-like sauce strewn underneath. Not sure if this was because I was that«t-shirt guy at the bar» or if it was an off night? The dish was solid, but the fish was inconsistently cooked like my calamari. Edges on the thinner segments were chewy and overdone. The corn spoon bread underneath didn’t seem to complement the dish well, although I understand cultural pairing, but I did enjoy the sauce(as I tend to enjoy most sauces/dressings). Overall it was an expensive night and not up to the par Mitchell’s price point and reviews suggested. At the same time, the ambiance, celebratory enthusiasm(a couple’s engagement was celebrated with a specially dish and several cheers), and high standards made me give it 4 instead of 3 stars. I will give Mitchell’s a second chance if I’m ever in town and will see if dressing up + sitting at a table will elevate the service???

I went to Ocean Club for my birthday, and it really lived up to my expectations. I’d read some past reviews saying that it had the best steaks of all the Mitchell’s restaurants, so I knew I had to give them a try. We were there on a Thursday night and got a great seat on the balcony overlooking all of Easton(As great a view as that can be). The service, and our server in particular, was fantastic. He was not only knowledgeable(which you expect from any CMR restaurant) but also incredibly funny and witty. Loved it. My girlfriend had the Black Orchid cocktail, which she absolutely loved, and we started off with the sweet chili calamari appetizer. I’d say of all of the dishes we had, this was probably my least favorite, only because I’ve had it so many other times before around town. I’m pretty sure Spagio had the exact same dish the last time I went there, and although it’s good, it was a bit boring. For the main dishes, I had the ribeye I was craving with the blue cheese crust, and my girlfriend went with the Chilean sea bass. I had had the ribeye at the Guild House a week prior, and I have to say that this one was waaayyy better! The meat was cooked perfectly medium rare, and it basically melted in your mouth, and the blue cheese was pungent and blended with the steak perfectly. I could basically cut that thing with a fork. My girlfriend’s sea bass was just as amazing and super delicate. The truffle sauce that came with it was delicious as were the whipped potatoes. We ordered a side of the jalapeño au gratin as well, and that was definitely one of the best potato dishes I’ve had in a while. Since it was my birthday, I got free dessert! Oh yeah! A nice gesture on an otherwise hefty bill. I could barely eat anymore, but I got the blueberry lemon cheesecake. It was just as good as everything else, but I had to pack up that bad boy for later. Overall, this is an awesome restaurant that you need to check out even if it’s nestled in all of the Easton mayhem. It’s obviously quite pricey so a great place to celebrate a special occasion(or if you have plenty of money to drop on dinner all the time. Kudos to you in that case). This is Cameron Mitchell at his best.

Let me start off with the first bad experience we had in the beginning. We made reservations for 8 for 9pm and then needed to add just one more person. The front desk was completely rude and said they can’t accommodate one more person and thinks all the seats will be taken. I never heard of a restaurant not trying to make small accommodations, especially with a upper scale restaurant like this! So our 9th person went anyways and they easily added another chair to the table. Not sure why the front desk made it a huge deal over the phone. Anyways, my bad first impression changed after we met with the staff. They were very attentive, friendly, engaging, and went above and beyond. Our waiter, John, handled our party quite well considering it was a bachelorette so you can imagine the girls getting a bit loud and«crazy» especially with alcohol. He noticed our drink wasn’t bubbling not the way it was supposed to and offered to get us an extra one on the house. The drinks were strong and tasty, just how I like them! Everything I tasted was delicious from the lobster cake, Chilean sea bass, the bread and butter, ribeye, and the absolute tastiest of them all… my blackened snapper! It had a bit of heat to it, the cornbread and tar tar is what makes this dish so good. Everyone literally cleaned their plate and not a piece of food was on it. They gave us complementary dessert with a party so big and how much we spent… the dessert was so good! I loved the extra chocolate cake/mousse; it wasn’t too sweet which is great. Peanut butter/chocolate was amazing as well. Didn’t care too much for the vanilla cake. Yes, it’s pricey… but is definitely money well worth spent and I left with a belly full. I definitely want to come back and try this place out with my boyfriend on a nice outing.

I had a fabulous birthday dinner here! It was pretty crowded for a Tuesday evening, so definitely make reservations, even on weeknights. We started with the surf and turf appetizer: braised short ribs, scallops and risotto. I would’ve ordered two more of this dish to have as my main entrée– it was a great combo and so delicious! We also enjoyed our entrees: Chilean sea bass and a medium rare perfectly cooked filet. I hardly ever order fish entrees, but I was pleased with the sea bass. I couldn’t finish it though because I wanted to make room for dessert! In a previous visit, I had the teriyaki salmon and it was great too– the sticky rice and soy butter sauce made that dish! Side dishes: I had high expectations for the lobster mashed potatoes and it ended up being pretty good, but the black truffle mac and cheese was by far the better side dish! I could’ve had a whole bowl of it! You can definitely taste the truffle! For dessert, I couldn’t decide between the carrot cake and chocolate cake with ice cream. Well, our server couldn’t tell us which was better, so he brought out both for us! They were both excellent and so decadent! The carrot cake was 10 amazing layers and came with pineapple syrup, which I didn’t care for too much, but it was drizzled on the side. I loved both, but I have to say that I think the carrot cake was better. My husband favored the chocolate cake. We were eating leftover cake for two days after and we enjoyed every single bite. :)

My food was totally amazing! I had the snapper and it tasted excellent. We had reservations a few hours before we visited the location and it was no problem getting us in. The interior is very nice. And the ambience has a very romantic feel. The main dining room was a little noisy for dining if I must say. The service is quick and pleasant. The food is a little pricey but for what you receive I guess it was ok. It conveniently located inside of the Easton town center.
