My husband decided to stop at this pizza place on his way home from Microcenter last week. Whenever we try a new pizza place, we get a cheese pizza the first time around. Then, if we like that we will order toppings the next time we order. We LOVED the pizza!!! I know it isn’t a chain restaurant but a lot of the chain places offer discounts, coupons etc… so I asked him if they had any specials. He didn’t know. They didn’t mention any when he walked in and ordered. I saw on their website that on Tuesdays for every large pizza purchased at regular price, you get a FREE small cheese pizza! That is a great deal, but of course no one mentioned it to us. Great pizza, but with no mention of the special to us… I am giving a 4 out of 5. Try it! You will enjoy! :)

Burn my mouth goodness. By looking at the sign, which was faded and dirty from many years of use… I just had a gut feeling to see what this place had to offer. Luckily, it didn’t disappoint. This is a classic«Hole in the wall»… LITERALLY. We walked in to find a one man operation, and a small counter. We were told we could go next door to DiMarco’s and have a seat, grab a beer, watch some sports, and order some pizza. Like Rich said, they’re connected by a window. Smart thinking. This pizza reminded me of La Galleria at Shrunken Head, but minus the over powerful garlic leaving you with Vampire’s worst nightmare breath. The dough is soft, chewy, but still cooked. I know… like that made any sense, right? It’s like a NY style pie, but not as thin and floppy. It was all around a good pizza to nosh on. I can’t nark on it, because the husband and I devoured a whole large by ourselves. Also, you MUST try the meatball sub. It’s not my personal number one, but it comes in at number two most definitely. Thin sliced meatballs get me every time. Seriously, check this place out. It’s not hipster, or cool, or the«IN» place, but they make a decent pizza, and DiMarco’s is a nice low-key bar to just chill. I’ll be back and you know it!

Was pleasantly surprised by Montoni’s Pizza. I often drive past them on my morning commute and decided to take a chance with them for dinner last night. Their pizza definitely had a home made feel and taste to it. Not to say it was bad, quite far from it, their pizza was incredible. The sauce was different than most and was delicious, while the crust was thin yet not crispy but rather soft. Wings were also great and definitely were homemade as well. I strongly recommend Montoni’s if you are looking for an alternative to a big chain pizza place. A true hidden gem.

I love mom & pop pizza. The first time trying these gems is always kind of exciting. Major chains all taste exactly how you expect, and are the same throughout the country. These small places bring the ideas of the owner without constraints of corporate pizza bosses. Vegan spoiler alert: I can’t tell you what the cheese was like. The first pizza made ever didn’t have cheese anyway(cheese wasn’t standard on pizza until the late 1800’s). The crust was crispy, I mean really nice and crunchy. It was thin and flavorful. They asked how I wanted it cut, which was nice. They don’t force their preferred way of cutting down my esophagus. They have a few sauce options. I’ve only had the homemade marinara, which is lovely. The toppings offered are standard for any pizza place. I’d like a few more veggies, but having fewer veggies is how they keep their costs below average. Both employees I’ve talked to there are quite friendly. Feel like having a PBR with your pizza? You can order from the bar next door, DiMarcos. They are connected by a tiny window behind the bar. I’ll be ordering from here again and again. It’s the closest of the many pizza places I can walk to, and one of the tastiest.

Good pizza and a nice menu. My brother says the subs are good. They get an excellent because of the low prices/Hey, it’s my favorite in NW Columbus. None of this frozen dough stuff.
