Bad service. Lazy workers. Spilled a water my fiancés shoulder and right in front of our booth. None of the lazy worker mopped it. Stand up, and slipped, twisted my ankle and bit it… HARD. Back smacked against the booth and fell right on my butt. No one apologized. No one came over to mop it up afterwards. And worst part about it, NOBODY even apologized for not doing a thing about it. It’s crazy how careless people can be, especially in the food service industry. I worked in the food service industry for 8 years, and I know how a customer should be treated. Especially one that just fell from their neglect! 4 days later, here I am, writing a Unilocal review at 1:50am, about their lack of customer service because I can’t sleep due the pain in my back, neck and ankle. Food was good! Only reason they get 2 stars instead of one…

I went in and ordered 1 burger to go. I watched car after car go through the drive thru. It took 20 minutes and eventually an employee from the drive thru comes and brings me the sandwich. How long he had it who knows. I would suggest going through the drive thru for a to go order or just not visit this location. I would expect from a quality location at least a sorry for you ridiculous wait time.

While I realize you get what you pay for, this Steak ‘n Shake has managed to set a new low! Surprisingly, the staff didn’t start a couple hours ago and told me they’ve had quite a bit of restaurant experience. When the manager called«honey», I asked her to refrain from that level of intimacy and she told me not to worry — she calls everyone honey. I’m really sorry I didn’t go to McDonald’s.

Horrible horrible horrible. That is all we wanted was a eggnog shake & ice tea. 20 min later they bring it out and the order is wrong. Matthew was nice and tried to fix the order as he said«it is probably back there and I just need to get it.» We had to ask them to make another. At the same time the girl who took our order said she will do it. Came back again with the wrong order. When Matthew finally came back with my correct order, the cup was sticky and the shake taste like nutmeg & vanilla ice cream. HOWHARDISITTOMAKEANEGGNOGSHAKE!

I’ve never had a job as a waiter/waitress, butI felt like our server wasn’t very good at balancing her tables, or something. Maybe she was new-er? I don’t know. That’s just me wanting to give her the benefit of the doubt. She brought us our waters, no straws. My friend had ordered Sprite, which she said she’d be «right back» with and took her QUITE some time. And by the time our milkshakes were done and served, we were already finished with our meals and taking them to go. Overall wasn’t pleased with this location.

Went here last night for a couple of large fries. They were friendly asking us if we needed anything else. Upon opening the bag we noticed the fry boxes were only half-full. Not nice.

While I don’t typically frequent Steak n’ Shake, I decided to go today because it’s my daughters 7th birthday and we wanted to get birthday milkshakes before the park. I’m glad I stopped here, not for any other reason other than the exceptional customer service that we received from Melby. My daughter was playing the claw game and she was very disappointed that she couldn’t win the cow she wanted. Melby saw her disappointment and proceeded to play the game for her with his own money so that he could make her day special by winning the cow stuffed animal, which he did! She was so thrilled. He completely made her day. I’m forever grateful for his kind heart. He was also very attentive to us even though we only had milkshakes. Your location is very lucky to have him. I’ll definitely be back!

Great food! But the service was unsatisfactory. We only saw our waitress twice, when she took our order and when she brought our food. Never refilled our drink! Never gave us silverware, nor came to check and see if we even needed anything! Towards the end of our meal, my cup was bumped and my water was spilled. No one brought us napkins nor cleaned the mess on the floor. In fact, even once we paid for our meal and went to leave, the water was still on the floor. Very disappointed.

This place is disgusting. Additionally, service is painfully slow and delivered with a scowl — they WILL let you know that your presence is an unwelcome burden on their day. Table and seats were filthy. Looked like a decade of grime had accumulated. Floors were littered with food, dirty napkins and God knows what else. Should have known better than to attempt to use the restroom — this was by far the most disturbing and nauseating part of the whole experience. The floors were grimey, the toilet seats were disgusting(I’ve seen cleaner in gas stations), and worst of all … there was NOSOAP to wash hands! So HOW exactly are the cooks and waitresses washing their hands after using this filthy restroom and before making our food?!! Ewww! And I already ate! Ugh. I felt sick as the realization set in, and I feel sick now just remembering it. Needless to say, we will never go back to this dump. :(

Come on Management! Male waiter /greeter in spandex skinny jeans… way to ruin the meal. The extremely tight attire for male or females should be take into serious consideration. Fries were wrong and be careful if they offer to split the checrk at the register… you end up paying more.

Adequate service as always to be expected from Steak N’ Shake. Food is pretty decent and extremely cheap. Good if you want a quick bite to eat and really don’t care about service. Also great for shakes, hence the word ‘Shake’ in the name.

I don’t think there’s anything terribly wrong with this Steak ‘n Shake. Whenever we visit Columbus, this is the location we come to. It’s usually around lunch time and they’re usually busy, but we get seated fairly quickly and our food doesn’t take too long to come out. They could speed up the checkout process though — sometimes I think it takes me longer to pay than it does to eat.

If I could give this place a zero I would. Hands-down worst experience at a Steak ‘N Shake I have EVER had, and probably Top 3 worst restaurant experiences, period. The good: The restaurant looked –fairly– clean. The food didn’t kill us, so, yeah… The bad: Stood 15 minutes waiting for a table even though roughly 75% of tables were empty. Finally got a table only to find that it was dirty… and not«oh they missed a crumb» dirty, but not even wiped down dirty. Waitress acted like we were unreasonable for wanting a clean table, especially during flu season… Got drinks after about 20 minutes of waiting, and we didn’t order milkshakes, sodas only. Never got refilled… Had to go to counter and ask for our bill after waiting again up there for another 10 – 15 minutes. And did I mention that our waitress literally TOLD us that she didn’t want to be there that night and brought our food, and the stuff we originally ordered(ranch, etc.), but she forgot, with a scowl, when she brought it at all? I should just clarify that I have been a server at 3 different restaurants in my lifetime. I am not an overly picky person and I know what it’s like to be in the weeds on a busy Saturday night… this was not it. And a smile/apology goes a long way with me. I know what it’s like to live off of tips, but she barely got one from us and that was generous.

I go to this place very often. The food is always quick and the people are always so helpful. On Thursday 19th I went in there about 9 pm and the food was good but the service was absolutely terrible. I have decided to find a different Steak ‘n Shake. My experience was so bad. I waited 20 mins just to check out and I was the first person in line. They are lucky I waited that long. Also their was probably 15 people that got up and left.

First time… and last time at a Steak N’ Shake. Got a double bacon sandwich… didn’t get the bacon and the sandwich was the size of a McDonalds double cheeseburger for almost $ 6(combo). The fries were soggy and cold and even the soda lid was not put on correctly. It’s not very often I would recommend McDonalds as a better place to go but skip SnS and goto McD’s instead.

So I have been to this location a handful of times, and the service is pretty much ALWAYS horrible, but this last visit takes the cake! Me and two of my kids go in for dinner. We were going to head over to Flip Side at Easton(which btw, is AWESOME — I will add a review for that!), but traffic was crazy, so figured we’d eat here instead. We stood in the aisle waiting to be seated for five minutes, even though there were 4 tables open. Before being seated, NOONE that worked there looked at us. I was staring intently at anyone who came close to us, trying to make eye contact. I would share that they were actually trying to avert making eye contact, maybe because that haven’t been trained at all on how to engage a customer? I really don’t have a clue on that issue — but it does happen at this restaurant. Once seated, we sat for about 10 minutes before our waiter came by. He said he’d be right back… so another 5 minutes go by and he does come back, finally. If you have kids, you know that waiting is always a challenge, especially when hungry. They should have crackers or something, if their service is going to be so slow. Anyway, we ordered 3 meals, and 3 waters. BTW, while this time is passing, and we were waiting for our waiter to show up to get the order, I notice two tables that got seated after us have had a different waitress come by — they both had drinks, and had ordered. After 10 minutes, no joke, our waters came. Now, our waiter was exceptionally dim(no joke), but really, how long does filling 3 glasses with ice and water take? After that, 10 more minutes, and our food arrives. Mostly correct, they forgot the mac n cheese — but were surprisingly quick to bring that out when I let them know we were still in need of it. The food was good, not gonna lie — but the kids stuff, mac n cheese, corn dogs, etc. are like Gordon Food Service and Kraft — certainly not worth the money — but easier than making I guess. So from the time we drove up to got our total order was almost an hour. I bet the chain has a goal to do this in 15 minutes or less — maybe 20. So not close here. We also ordered shakes, and they are good also. If this review was just based on food, I’d give then a 3, maybe 3.5, but the service is so poor that even a star is hard to give them — I would literally give this place a «no star» if that were possible based on the incredibly poor service. One final note, both the tables I mentioned that were seated after us, got served, and left, before our food showed up. I say a lot of this must be how bad our server was, but the management needs to have processes established that doesn’t allow for this to occur. Hard to come back after this.

So, it’s hot outside, right? And there’s my team, sitting just a scant quarter mile away, when Tiff says«you know what sounds good? Milkshakes.» Well, duh. We ordered(and managed to remember) nine shakes. Well, technically eight, but we accidentally ordered a double(whatevs, it was«happy hour» pricing, and for nine small shakes it was less than $ 13). The staff had them setup perfectly to pass to us in the drive thru, which made me holding on to them while Tiff drove easy as pie.
