Sandwich was excellent! Service very slow, and not quite friendly. Two people behind the counter, one helping the line. Not much direction or clear purpose, the 2nd guy. Our visit: Friday evening, February. THREE stars, except the music was very loud for dining. It’s not a club or bar…

Try to avoid this location. The quality of the sub is rubbish. Bread is dry and old, spotted several flies, and the ones who makes the subs aren’t well trained(sub isn’t well put together, everything would fall out). The one across from Ohio Union is much better.

3.5 stars, rounding up. This Subway is nothing special, but it’s still tasty. I think its staff consists mostly of students. Kudos to them for maintaining their sanity during«Free Cookie Day.» I also like the 1990s music that I’ve heard on satellite radio here. It brings me back to first through sixth grades. :-)

Oh, MLK… you musta remembered to pack your lunch, because all the restaurants are closed on your holiday… and I forgot mine at home! Sigh. Forced(yes, forced!) to walk to High Street in search of noms, the only thing that turned out to be open within my scope of vision(about 18th-14th) was Subway. Normally, I support local businesses, but everything was closed today(I hope you all gave your employees a paid holiday!), so I went to Subway. I’ve been here a couple times in similar situations, but have never been compelled to stop in due to mediocre… everything. The place is clean and whatnot, and today it smelled like Stella by Stella McCartney, which made me all nostalgic(my old perfume!), but the service is kinda busted. The workers(sandwich artists??) are always extremely unenthusiastic and apathetic. I got the turkey melt, a sammich for which it should be obvious that I want A. cheese and B. the sammich toasted. Both of these notions seemed outrageous to the sandwich artist helping me. Sammie… okay. Slightly stale bread, and slightly mushy toppings. Oh and I watched as my sandwich artist dude handled the hot peppers absentmindedly while he waited for my turkey melt to toast(omg!). Which I found problematic because I don’t like hot anything, esp. not hot peppers — and it was with the same gloved hand that he applied… art… to my sammie. But I mean, come on, it’s a chain… what should I expect? Well, I do have these romantic memories from childhood, back before I knew what communism was(or maybe just because I grew up in New England, where Subway is from), where there was a delicious 6″ tuna sammich on fresh-baked, warm wheat bread topped with fresh lettuce and tomato. Or maybe I made that up. I’m completely unreliable, you know. ;) Blarg.
