The Waxxpot

The service was stellar! But who’s brilliant idea was it to stay open during a whole remodel? Sounds greedy person. FYI– Customers don’t like to see that stuff. At least put the front desk in the front so people are greeted! I’ve been a customer for a couple years and extremely disappointed. I’m telling you this is the craziest thing I’ve ever seen a company do!

Mallori was the BEST waxer I’ve ever had. Honestly probably the best in Cbus. I really lucked out with having her. Quick, easy, and by far the least painful experience I’ve ever had. Also very, very clean. No worries about double dipping! Amazing, thank you and recommending Mallori to all my girlfriends.

First time at The Waxxpot and had an awesome experience! Parking right in front, beautiful space, and Mallorie was incredible. I will definitely come back!

I am generally very impressed by this place – from the actual salon to the customer service and waxing results, but today I had an very unfavorable experience. I was 6 minutes late to the Waxxpot for my appointment and was told upon arrival that the esthetician had already taken their next client and that I would need to wait 30+ minutes for the next available appointment or be seen the following day. I was not called or notified of this change and sincerely apologized for my slight delay in arrival. I will now look elsewhere for my future waxing needs.

I am somebody who really requires the talent of others to keep my brows in check. Left to my own devices I end up with a permanent arched unibrow that while interesting, is not the face I want to present to the world. At waxxpot the wonderful staff, spa like environment, and I swear nearly painless technique will leave you with amazing brows and a desire to never do your own again.
Hidden in the «gritty» part of the short north parking is available and not a hassle. The store is very modern, clean and smells great due to the AMAZING selection of candles. Seriously, if you’re not a waxer, just go in for the candles. You will be really, really impressed.
One thing that stood out to me was the salon manager Shireen. She was knowledgable, welcoming, and funny. If you’re someone who is nervous about waxing speaking to her will immediately put you at ease. Actually the whole staff seemed really great, like people who enjoy their job. People liking what they do makes me feel like I’m in a good place.
After being offered tea and water I was ushered back to the waxing room. With exposed brick and house jazz I immediately felt at ease… and fancy. My esthetician (I have to give props to spellcheck for that one) was named Jamey and she was awesome and very professional. The waxxpot uses hard wax, and it makes all the difference. I could barely feel a thing. Even in those zones that usually cause me to hold my breath, I didn’t feel anything. She also spent what I felt was extra time trimming and plucking because as she said «brows need to be perfect». And they were! This is the best brow job I have EVER experienced! The degree of professionalism, attention to detail and technique made me feel like I should get a casual Brazilian.
If you require upkeep, get it done at the waxxpot. If you don’t, just go for the candles and conversation. What a great addition to the Short North!

The customer service was great from the telephone to the greeting inside however my eyebrows not so complimentary. They had no real shape or arch. I’m glad it is only hair and it grows back fast. I guess I’m just disappointed because waxing is pretty much all they do. I thought I might have found my forever home but saddened to say I have to keep looking.

Always a great experience when I come here. Nicole is amazing, always does a wonderful job and is so easy to talk to. Janea (I don’t remember how she spells her name) is great too (only had her once). Everyone is friendly and willing to help. Ease of scheduling and refuse to go anywhere else. Definitely committed to this place.

I’ve tried to be committed to the Waxxpot because I believe in the energy & work ethic, but things have changed since Gretchen’s departure. Scheduling was much simpler, the waxing was amazing and easy and the maintenance reminders were great. All the things that made them a cut above has diminished with their desire to expand. Unfortunately I will not go back as the quality is no longer there.

I have done Brazilian wax for a million times but I’m still so scared of pain every time I go for waxing services. I had my Brazilian done by Janaiah today and I’m so so so impressed because it was almost painless (I’m really really scared of pain) ! She had it done super fast too! All the ladies working here are super friendly and nice, I would say this is the best Brazilian wax experience I ever had in Columbus!

I usually never write reviews, but after seeing all of the wonderful, positive comments from previous reviewers and having such a terrible experience at the salon, I feel a little obliged to provide some caution. I came early on a Sunday for a Brazilian wax, and had a very pleasant experience with the scheduling, welcoming, etc. The salon is clean, cool, and seemed comfortable. But the actual Brazilian was one of the most painful and uncomfortable I have ever had. I’ve been waxing for about a year and have tried several different places. I don’t know if it was because the wax wasn’t ready or the esthetician wasn’t experienced, or possibly both, but the hard wax wasn’t ripping off in one piece and she had to literally rip small pieces off at one time, sometimes missing completely and just pulling skin. I won’t name names, I don’t think that’s fair, but just please make sure you get someone who knows what they are doing!

I stumbled upon the waxxpot, and I’m happy to say i will be back to get waxed again! Gretchen was quick and since she uses hard wax it was almost painless! Spray tan is next!
