Winking Lizard Tavern

I received an email from one of the main people and he was nice enough to make it all right. My husband and I went back to Winking Lizard, this time though to the Polaris location (closer to home). The staff was quick and friendly. The food was delicious. We will be back to that location.

Been here a few times while traveling and each time the service has gradually gotten worse. When it takes more than five minutes to be acknowledged by your server and then you place your food and drink order together (cocktail and wings) and you get your food before your drink, you know you made the wrong decision on what place to visit. I won’t say that I will not be back, choices are sometimes limited while traveling but I know if I get the same service again as tonight, the next visit will be my last.

I ate here while on a recent visit to Ohio and was pleasantly surprised. Their beer selection is top notch, though they were out of a lot of the beers they had on tap. I ordered a half smoked BBQ chicken with two sides and an imported beer. The chicken was very good and the beer was excellent (Samuel Smith’s Organic Chocolate Stout). The nicest surprise was the bill, $ 15 and change. After a nice tip, I had a really good meal and a good beer for $ 20 — Not too shabby. It is a sports bar atmosphere, so expect some noise.

Summer has arrived at Winking Lizard. Barbecue chicken and Baby Back ribs are both delicious — do the combo. Brisket burger is awesome, too.
Soup is always the best kept secret and tonight it was delicious homemade vegetable soup.
Stop by for cold beer, eat in or out. Enjoy summer at.

This was my first time going to this restaurant last night perhaps they were having an off night. I was okay with waiting an 1+ hour for my food to come because they were really busy but, I was thoroughly disappointed with the food. I ordered the teriyaki chicken breast and the servers brought it out to me badly burned. The chicken was completely black on the other side. I still cant believe they gave me my food in that condition. The rest of the food i had that night was okay. I ended up having some of my friends food. On a positive note the server I had was really nice and she didn’t charge me for my entrée. But overall I’m not sure if I would come back or not. I just wish the food was of better quality last night.

Went here on a Wednesday night at 10:00pm and the place was insanely busy. It was super loud inside so you could not hear much from whoever was trying to talk to you. Tons of TVs.
They have an outside bar but it’s not that comfy with only a few high tables/​chairs. There is a fireplace which is nice.
Drinks were pretty expensive. I wasn’t impressed.

Well, I’ve been coming here for sometime due to my work travel. Now I’m a permanent resident of the area and I have to say, I’ve had better. Go here for the beer selection and the TV’s. They are loaded with many TV’s with all of the games of all sports. But the food and the food service is less than desirable. My wife and I entered here this past weekend and sat at the bar. She ordered a vodka tonic, I ordered a beer. We also ordered a plate of chicken nachos. This is where the disappointment came in. The nachos were literally a bag of Gordon Food chips dumped on a plate, using pump cheese, and the rest of the toppings. The chicken was sparse to say the least. We ate through the first layer of goodness and all that was left was 90% of the chips. Untouched by cheese, chicken, or anything else. Just chips. Oh, I should mention it came with a small cup of salsa and sour cream. When we asked for more toppings and showed him our plate, the bar tender brought out a bowl of melted pump cheese. We asked for more salsa and sour cream, we were charged. We were charged the full price of $ 9.29 for the nachos and an additional $ 1 for the pump cheese, and $.50 each for the salsa and sour cream. I feel like I could have been treated better by the bartender, the solution could have been better, and the over all demeanor could have made my experience a bit more enjoyable.

Love the vibe. Super laid back and chill. Beer and food selection is extensive so it’s easy to try something new every time you go. Hue

We have been coming there for the last 4 years while we are there for a soccer tournament. The last few years have been great. This year we had a table of 12 which I know is a big party. We had a large table by the bar. Our waitress was terrible. It took forever to get drinks that we had ordered. She never came back to our table to even check if our food was OK. We had other team mates and parents that went and didn’t have as large of a party and had the same waitress and it was fine. If your waitresses can not handle large parties then have someone else do it or have 2 Waitresses handling the larger parties. I was very disappointed. We rave about this place and the beer selection. In past years we have gone for dinner and drinks both nights we are there this year we couldn’t get out of there fast enough and only went once.

Must update this review. The company and management went above and beyond to contact me about my review.
They asked specific questions as to how my experience could have been better and actually listened! I had a very productive email conversation with not only the GM of the location, but a corporate rep. as well.
This is true customer service. They do care about their customers’ service and happiness. Very refreshing not to just have an owner or manager send an appology or defensive email about a less than stellar review. The Winking Lizard actually opened dialogue and listened. Instead of excuses or appologies, I got action… bravo!
We have plans to return this weekend. I am excited.

I’ll give Winking Lizard two stars for being clean, having friendly staff, and having a good beer selection. The food itself is average to below average, depending on what you order. We’ve been to this location several times and tried many different items from the menu. The spinach and artichoke dip is flavorless and tastes like it is prepared from frozen. The wings are small and the sauces are much better at roosters. The quesadilla is bland and underfilled. The best item we’ve tried is the pizza, which is decent. Winking Lizard is okay in a pinch, and it’s one of a few options in the Crosswoods area, but it’s not a restaurant that I would seek out.

I had the wings here along with a personal pizza during their Monday &Tuesday special. It’s a great place to enjoy a variety of brews and catch a game for pretty much anything going on that day. I usually hang around at the bar as I was here during a work trip, and the service was quick and accurate.

Could not have been happier with my visit here. Had the March paddle beer sampler. Pretty good. Then resorted back to my norm of Miller light. Got the half rack of ribs with slaw and broccoli. Omg! The ribs were so good I got another half rack and paid the difference for the upgrade. Some of the best ribs I’ve ever had. Bar was spacious, plenty of TV options, server was good. Yep… very happy. Great choice for my last night in town. Would def go back if I was in town longer.

Winking lizard is good for their selection but the service is never my favorite. Tonight our waitress was no where to be found and I missed happy hour by 5min bc of this. Pretty frustrating. The food is okay-​nothing really organic or gluten-​free. I would go on 50cent wing night on Monday or Tuesday. 20 wings for $ 10-​Talk about cheap! They have a fun beer tour so TONS of choices. Better than the bar next door for craft beer choices.

Good food. Good service. Lots of different cocktails. Lots of different beers! This place is great. Lots of different people from the hotels and other restaurants around to meet here. I highly recommend the Winking Lizard, this location especially.

I had lunch with my husband yesterday and he recommended the Black Bean Vegetable Burger, which for $ 7.99 is a pretty good deal. It comes with one side, and I chose broccoli. This is one of the best BB Burgers I’ve had. It’s very tasty with the multi-​grain bun, and added onion straws, cheese and lettuce. I did not use the accompanying salsa, but asked for mayo instead. I would definitely get this again.
The service was great; our server was friendly, and we didn’t have to wait on water refills or our check.

I had the munchies so i ordered my food to go. The first time I came here I ate in… but I did not enjoy myself… the waitress and everything were great I just do not like going to restaurants that have loud music and you can barely hear yourself think… it’s not very relaxing… but I absolutely love ordering to go from here! I have ordered to go from here like 3 times this week! I usually order the 10 boneless wings and a ceasar salad. The boneless wings are good but if you like them wet you may want to order extra sauce on the side. I will go be going back again next time i am in the area.

Great outdoor patio with access to multiple TVs. Was there for $.55 wing night on Tue, order in multiples of five. The sesame was my favorite, the dry rub garlic Parmesan had no flavor.
Great selection of both draft and craft bottles. Nice place to drink, food is just ok.
There is an iguana living in the waiting area. They ask for your number and text you when the table is ready.

The row of tvs makes this a great pub to catch the game, any game. I’ve been here twice, both times while in Ohio for career training. I’ve never eaten here but the selection of craft beers makes this a great place to hang out with new friends and try some local brewskis.

It’s petty cool place, great selection of beers. My server was really nice, they were kinda busy but not that busy that we didn’t get good service.
But got damn they some their food is not good at all and I’m not even trying to be mean. So I got roped in meeting some friends and I didn’t really have a great culinary experience last time I came here. I ordered some chicken wings, they tasted gross as if they went bad, they kinda also tasted burnt, not to mention bland. The sauce was ok enough to cover up the gross taste & had I not been with friends and not so hungry I would have said something about it. As far as ordering chicken wings, Roosters wings are way better.
I tried my friends battered pickles and they weren’t that great. Honestly I don’t know why they serve food? Cruel I know… I also know that it was so bad that I won’t EVER order food from here again not eat anything out of that kitchen!

Straight up walked in the bathroom to wash my hands and I seen an employee not wash their hands after using the restroom. On another note, I ordered the pretzels. Low and behold, I finally ordered something good. I asked for more beer-​cheese & the guy kept saying blue cheese. He was clearly out of his mind & neglected to ask again, lol! Just got the ribs, mainly cause it’s Rib Wednesday and it was really good. Surprise surprise! Oh and there beer of the month glass you get to keep!
