The UPS Store

Total rip off and really bad attitude on top of it. The owner claimed they «have» to charge a fee for every ***‘prepaid*** !!! package. In contrast, Staples on Haggerty took the packages, NO charge, and courteously offered a tracking receipt. This so called UPS store is a greedy fake.

$ 3 charge just to drop off a package over 20 lbs. WHAT? It’s only $ 5 to have UPS pick it up at my house. Thanks for the lesson, I’ll never be back!
I have shipping dozens of packages, if not hundreds, of all sizes and weights. I noticed this location the other day so I thought I’d stop by since it’s closest to my house. I usually use the Novi or West Bloomfield locations. I have never been assessed this suspicious $ 3 charge. In the essence of customer service you would think they’d say something like «well, I haven’t seen you before. If this is your first time, I can waive it.» but there was none of that. I just picked it back up and said «I’ll just take it somewhere else.»
For the record we are talking about a 24×16×12 box that weighs 30.8 lbs. It’s big but not massive. I could hold it with one hand while opening the door. And again, UPS will send a truck to my house for $ 5. I won’t be surprised when I see a «For Lease» sign in the window.
Ps. I dropped it off at the West Bloomfield UPS Store on Orchard Lake Road at Maple and there was no mention of a $ 3 charge.
