CFKA is a great school. After doing some research, this school offers 2 private one-​on-​one lessons a month, 30 minutes each. My son is in the younger group and we have the option of bringing him in for 45 minute group classes 4 times a week! That is 3 hours of group classes with about a 1:8 ratio when the class is split up into stations. This school teaches your child memorization, discipline, proper form, respecting peers, respecting instructors, and helps with balance and focus. They are extremely patient with the little ones but a lot is expected from the students because they know what these kids are capable of. Well worth the cost.
FYI if you’d like to try it out, it’s $ 15 and you get one private lesson and can participate in 2 group classes. You then proceed to a month-​long trial before signing up for a year. Give it a go, it’s amazing!

My son started at ckfa in june of 2011, since then he has opened up. He know longer is shy. He has focus, confidence,& a goal for life. I couldn’t imagine life with out Concord Kung Fu Academy & all the motivating most talented staff ever! CKFA has mastered the art of disapline, learning,& fun. I heart CKFA.

Our family has had students here for over 2 years. The kids classes they run are great and the kids love it. I’ve seen some students come in as virtual «space cadets» that over time became very focused and sharp students, a pretty amazing transformation. Everyone is very friendly and they look after all students and each other. They also manage to keep a very good balance between teaching the students to be competitive and still remain inclusive.

My daughter just started here and absolutely loves the classes. It’s exactly what she was looking for. Her instructor is a good teacher and great with kids. The group lessons are great, but she especially likes the once a week private instruction. Highly recommend.

My son has been attending CKFA for what will be three years in January, 2011. In that time he has grown immensely in his self-​confidence and physical ability. When my boy started at 5 years old, he was extremely introverted and not very coordinated physically, but that went out the window quickly due to his training. Couple that with the personal discipline and respect for others that is instilled at CKFA, and you have school that I would highly recommend to any parent.

My son turns 5 in September. He has been a student at CKFA since February 2010. Under Sihing Mark’s watchful eye he has become more focused, more attentive (albeit still has lapses — hey he’s 5!) and is learning the benefits of respecting others and being respected. The fact that he gets to do cool kung fu moves isn’t too bad either! The instructors never fail to impress me with their patience and desire to see everyone do well. What also amazes me is that they know everyone’s name — I’m not kidding — every man, woman and child — I wish I knew the secret…

This is one of the best Kung Fu schools in the entire Bay Area. My entire family studies here. It is based upon a traditional structure where you have to earn your rank. In order to go up a level you have to be able to demonstrate proficiency in forms, technique, and physical ability. This school is a dedicated, full time school — unlike others which the instructor works some other job during the day and teaches only in the evenings. This school is a REAL Kung Fu school, NOT a «McDojo» where basically kids are sent to like a baby sitter. It is structured, planned out carefully, and all the instructors work individually with students to provide the best teaching methods for them. Students are tracked, records kept on their progress, and instructors share notes so everyone knows what is going on with the students. If there were six stars, I would give them all six!

I have been a student of this school for over two years now. The Concord Kung Fu Academy teaches one of the most well rounded and well respected styles of martial arts today. As an activity for children it teaches focus, discipline, and respect; which carry through to all aspects of life. This school is great for adults of ALL ages too! The instructors strive to give very focused and personal instruction to every student. I get a 1-​on-​1 private lesson EVERY WEEK plus group classes! It’s very affordable and also works with my demanding work schedule. Check it out.

I enrolled my 4 & 6 year old boys after attending a «buddy» night. I was a little skeptical at first if the kids would committ so the folks at Concord Kung Fu Academy worked with us to come up with a month long trial period w/​o having to purchase any extras to make sure it would for us. It did, it has, it is. We love it and now spend 4 days a week on average there. They also have special events like holiday parties, tournaments, movie night, etc.
I can’t say enough about how fantastic the instructors are with all of the children and how productive I feel this is for my kids.
