Great food ! But he didn’t pay his bills. Guess you can’t stay open that way. I never got paid in full for installing his point-of-sale system. –sigh– Oh, well, I truly wish Matt the best on his next endeavor.

We have seen this place has been open for a little while and stopped in for dinner on a hot Sunday evening with my wife and kids. The location is fantastic and close to home so I was really hoping to like it. We took a seat outside and the patio is great. My 5 year old ordered from the kids menu and my wife and I ordered a pizza but went thin crust since the waiter said the thick crust was going to take 45 minutes. I decided to order the sampler appetizer at the last second since it was getting late and we were getting hungry. We also ordered 3 waters and a beer. I had just been to Chicago in May so I was happy to have some Goose Island. He brought the waters but I had to ask about my beer after a while which he said they were switching the taps. That fine but communicate! The waiter drops off the appetizer with two side sauces but says/explains absolutely nothing. I had to ask him what everything was as it was a last minute decision and didn’t look in detail what it came with. The curly fries were very soggy and very oily. I like garlic fries but these tasted like the oil had soaked up burnt garlic. The chicken wings were drumsticks that we didn’t touch. The artichoke dip was just okay. I was still enjoying my beer and was looking forward to the main dish. The pizza came and the first thing that came to my mind was man that’s a medium!!! It was small but we digged in, even my daughter did too since they cut it into tiny pieces and her plate hadn’t arrived. A few minutes into our pizza the waiter comes over and asks how everything is going? We asked about my daughter’s dish and he just looks confused. He goes back to the kitchen then returns telling us that they don’t have the pocket or pitta or something. He asked if we wanted something else but we just said no since she was sharing our pizza too. The waiter ended up taking $ 9 off the ticket but man that service was pretty bad! The food was barely okay but I thought it was expensive with small portions. We will not be back.

I originally came to this place with my husband and daughter when it first opened. We enjoyed our pizza and had a nice time. There were some minor new restaurant glitches that happened but nothing too horrible. I really want this place to succeed and I like that there are more options in Concord. Last night I went out to have drinks with a friend. Her husband had told us to come to the bar here because he had a great experience and the bartender made him some good drinks. We got to the bar a little after 9pm. I was going to have some wine and my friend was going to have a cocktail. After I ordered my wine, the bartender said«Thank god, because I’ve been making drinks all night and I’m over it.» So then my friend felt bad ordering a cocktail because it sounded like he didn’t want to make one. I ordered a pinot grigio. The bottle of pinot grigio he poured was almost empty so he went to get out another one from the fridge. I guess he wasn’t paying attention but I was watching him and he somehow grabbed a bottle of chardonnay off of the counter and poured that on top of the little bit of pinot grigio that was in my glass. At first I thought I might be seeing things but I took a couple of sips and yes, it was definitely a chardonnay. I went to tell him and the guy argued with me and swore that he didn’t do it. But I watched him and the two bottles he poured into my glass were completely different. He poured me a new glass of warm pinot grigio and told me that it was exactly what he had poured me the first time. I wasn’t. It was actually pinot grigio. Thanks. He made my friend a ginger margarita with jalapeño salt. I am not sure if that is what she wanted but he told everyone at the bar that it was happy hour and that drink was on special and that was the easiest thing for him to make. Because apparently it was all about him last night. Later he asked my friend if she liked it and she said yes she did but not the jalapeño salt. He said«Wow, you’re the only person who has ever said they don’t like the jalapeño salt.» Thanks guy, way to make her feel bad yet AGAIN tonight. And I highly doubt that. The final straw for me happened when I went to take a sip of my wine and there was a bug in it. I showed my friend, who was sitting right next to me. It was moving around. In my drink. I was scared to tell the bartender because he had been a complete dick all night but I just had to because who wants to drink a bug? I don’t. This asshole told me that it wasn’t a bug, it was cork from the bottle. Are you kidding me? I am 1000% sure there was nothing in my drink when he poured it for me. My friend and I were hoping for a chill night having a couple of drinks and catching up. After one drink we got the hell out of there and went somewhere else where we could enjoy ourselves and not have to be in the presence of a bartender who was a jerk. Apparently he chased everyone away because everyone around us left after one drink too. I might come back to this place for dinner but unless they get a new bartender I will never sit at this bar again.

Mi Pi pizza is a great addition to our town of Concord, brining with it the Chicago style pizza that I love. We ordered our pizzas to go instead of dining inside. Even so, Carlos who was working behind the bar offered us a seat at his bar until we were ready to order, and as we waited for it. As we glanced over the menu Carlos continued providing amazing customer service by offering us glasses of ice water. The menu has a great selection of unique pizzas, plus other options like salads and pasta. The prices on the pies very between $ 25 and $ 35, and you are also able to customize your crust at no additional cost. We ordered the Meat & More Meat Loverz with stuffed crust. Obviously for the major carnivores out there, this pie comes with pepperoni, spicy salami, Italian beef and peppered bacon. For me Chicago style pizza is always best eaten with a knife a fork. That is definitely the case when the pizza is stuffed all the way to the crust and almost busting at the seams. The crust was fluffy yet firm, and head great flavor. The chunky tomato sauce on top has to be one of the best pizza sauces I’ve had. Because the deal was too good to give up, we also ordered a small cheese pizza. Very cheesy and even topped with a lot of parmesan. Let’s call it the perfect appetizer before our massive entrée. The service just from take out and the quality of the food is enough to make me be a repeat customer.

Taking my rating down a level. Even though tonite was all about watching the Warriors win, it wasn’t all too busy around Todos Santos. Same goes for Mi Pi. My buddy and I were at Hop Grenade next door, when we decided to order a pizza to go just be before halftime. We understand that a large deep dish takes 30−45mins. But the pizza came well after. At least an hour and 10 mins. The manager on duty was apologetic and he offered a free appetizer and thin crust pizza, but was kind of irked that the delay was due to a hole in the pizza? So I believe another one was made. I have an idea on what might have caused that hole, if the story checks out. It was nice that the manager was wanting to make us happy at the end. I just can’t buy into the hole in the pizza story. I will still come back here, but the key word is consistency.

Called and ordered a pizza to pick up last Thursday. The staff member on the phone was very polite and even reminded us that it was Farmer’s Market day so parking might be tough. Staff at the restaurant was a little disorganized but friendly enough. The layout is a bit confusing when you walk in. There is no clear area to go to for pick-ups. The pizza was just okay. We had a thin crust pepperoni and olive. It needed more sauce and more zing to it. I did like that they used real mozzarella and the crust was nicely done and crispy. I think we are going to try this place again since their specialty is deep dish. We are hoping that is better than the thin crust. Until then I’d say this place is worth trying. From other reviews it looks like the owners are actively trying to work at improvements. That makes me hope we will have a great local pizza joint to go to in a couple months.

Bartender is hella nice his name is Jeff they have happy hour and he was greeting us right when we came in. Hooked us up with the shot of tequila that came with jalapeño salt that they have. It tasted hella good especially if you don’t like tequila. Happy hour on a Friday from 3 to 6. This will be the first time I’ve tried Chicago pizza I’m sure it’s bomb here too. Chicken wings are to die for

I came here expecting good things and was extremely disappointed. I ordered a «Chicago style got dog» figuring that it would be out fairly fast. After 25 minutes of waiting, I inquired about the status of the hot dog and assumed it might be taking long because it was probably some magical specimen of hot dog. Anyway, after a few more minutes of waiting, what I got was the most pathetic, underwhelming, cold sausage on a cold bun. Seriously awful. Oh and my friend had the pizza– she used the words«cheese glue»

Really delicious pizza the crust was great, sauce was perfect, definitely reminded me of Chicago’s pizza. We sat down right away, my salad game quickly and was fresh, the dressing was unlike anything I’ve ever had, garlic vinegar ette I believe, so fresh and yummy. My waitress was a sweetheart! Definitely try this place

So glad this place ended up being good. They have a great lunch special and happy hour is from 3:14 — 6:14. For $ 11.99 you get a personal size pizza, salad, drink and a small cannoli. The crust was spot on and the size of the pizza was pretty filling. My bf had the meatball appetizer and that was delicious too. We will definitely be coming back!

Great atmosphere and very kid friendly! My wife took our 20 month year old daughter to eat dinner here. All 3 of use loved the food and the outside seats are perfect for people watching. I loved the meat balls and the thin crust Mediterranean pizza was just what we were looking for. We are planing on getting the deep dish pizza next time and I love that there are a lot of options to choose from. You can tell that the owner and all the staff take a great deal of pride in providing excellent food and service. It is nice to go to a place that really makes you feel at home. As an added bonus, if you have a very active kid like we do, there is park and playground across the street where you can let them run around after having a great meal!

Short review: NEXT! If you want specific complaints read on… Stopped by here on a Monday night, no crowd, no excuse. The owner Matt was there, seems like a good guy. I ordered the Meatball Appetizer and Roast Beef sandwich. I was told 15 – 20 minutes. Half hour later I received my 5 inch(not even six inch) Roast Beef which was just warm, not hot and had less flavor the any Safeway bought roast beef. The side«gravy» was salt water, the color of pale amber, not sure what they made it from, certainly not beef drippings of any magnitude. They put the word«gravy» in quotes on their menu and I see why. For $ 11 dollars this was simply a waste. They should just take it off the menu. The meatball appetizer was the real test of the place. For $ 8 I received 3 standard sized meatballs with some mozzarella cheese and sauce thrown on top. The meatballs were moist and the flavor was not bad. The sauce, which is very important for a pizza place, was a fresh marinara, NOT a pizza sauce and not a «rich marinara.» I know I repeat this over and over but tomato sauce, especially for pizza, is supposed to thicker, richer and darker from hours of simmering, not with firm chunks of tomato for a «fresh» flavor. So it’s not Italian/Chicago style sauce(or «gravy» as some like to call it) it is the same crushed tomato soup served throughout California. Based on what I saw before placing my order I did not have the pizza. «WHAT!!!» you might say, «how can you rate the place without having the pizza!!!» While waiting to order I SAW the pizza and knew from the orange/red rather than deep red color the sauce was not going to be worth it and so went with the meatballs just to get a taste. The side focaccia bread was bread with a little plain olive oil on top and course salt, just eh. I am used to waiting for Italian style food, its the nature of the beast, just make it worth waiting for. Oh and before I forget, everyone saying its better than Skipolini’s, that bar is low and basically meaningless.

Have been back three times already!!! Very consistent… VERYGOOD! Sauce is delicious! Better than Skipolini’s …everything is fresh! Mi Pi Pizza !!! Jeff makes the best Mai Tai and other custom cocktails! Regarding the reviewer who thought it was weird for the server suggesting ordering right away because of the 40 minute wait for deep dish pizza, These pizzas are truly filling food, which also takes a decent amount of time to cook. Cooking times for deep dish and stuffed are often in the 30-to-45-minute range… the whole vibe of Mi Pi Pizza is to sit down and enjoy life for awhile. If the server did not make you aware of cooking time for deep dish. well… that may have been an issue? Speaking of servers they are all wonderful. the«team service» is a great dynamic! Mi Pi Pizza delivers and also offer half baked pizzas, so that you can finish the cooking process at home! I hope Mi Pi Pizza makes it! Mi Pi Pizza is working out a few little kinks, but I think they are well on there way. Can not wait to go back!

We had a great experience here! The owner Matt is very involved in his restaurant and you can tell this is his passion. We had the signature drinks, with the wedge salad which comes with real bacon and thier homemade blue cheese, ordered the thin crust which is thin and crunchy with amazing toppings(your choice of course!), topped it off with the cannoli with chocolate filling made with ricotta cheese… ooooff oh my! And enjoyed the patio with our 95 pound irish wolf hound boxer mix Banjo!

this is a new pizza restaurant that has only been open for a few days and it is truly a gem. The service is great. They are very attentive, friendly and offer amazing service. We loved the décor and outside patio seating. The friendly owner even stopped by our table to greet us and also recommended a tasty beer. they have an extensive and unique cocktail, beer and wine list. The food is also amazing. Meatballs: fresh homemade tomato sauce, meatballs, cheese and basil. The meatballs are homemade and moist. They were delightful. Spinach salad: this salad was light but flavorful. I loved that it had fresh goat cheese and the sun dried tomatoes gave it a good kick. Meat lovers deep dish pizza– they specialize in deep dish chicago style pizza. I’ve been to chicago plenty of times and this pizza was better. It had so much flavor, spice and fresh organic ingredients. The portions are big and easy to share. Loved the pizza. Cotton candy ice cream with pop rocks and white cake: a fun dessert which is easy to share. Loved the pop rocks the best. This restaurant is worth coming to. They have an awesome happy hour as well. Tip: the deep dish pizzas take about 20 min so make sure you have an appetizer. They take a while to cook since they are so big.

I think we ordered wrong so we’ll wait a while and try some other stuff. All in all this place is priced higher for what you get than anywhere else on the plaza. We paid $ 19 for a medium 2 topping thin pizza. I’ve had MUCH better pizza than this from trader joe’s freezer. Don’t order the thin, stick with deep dish. My drink was extremely tiny for the price maybe 3 oz of total liquid including melted ice. The hostess was very friendly and inviting, and the shining star of the staff here. On opening night they had staff on top of staff but it seemed like they were all hostess type employees but I didn’t observe but a 2 – 3 servers, strange. I know they’ll need time to work a few things out, but I was extremely unimpressed. $ 47 for 2 drinks, a bland caprese sandwich with cheap, nasty out of the tub coleslaw, and school lunch grade pizza.
