I have been wanting to visit an Off The Grid for a couple years now, and now I have! I love the food truck movement and I hope it keeps momentum. Todos Santos plaza has plenty to keep you busy with restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream, and bars. The trucks at off the grid were a good range of food types, from desserts to bacon trucks. I tried bacon and chili covered fries from the bacon truck. Very tasty, but a little dry. Maybe some less chunky chili, more saucy, or maybe nacho cheese added to kill the dryness. Next visit I tried the Lumpia from another truck, delicious! Crunchy and plenty of food. I requested no. fried egg, so the lady offered me another lumpia! Yay. My main complaint is that the trucks don’t change, I’d like to see some variety. Grill cheese truck? Nom Nom truck? Hopefully other trucks will join in and diversify the options. Otherwise, I love Off The Grid.

Located in the square in downtown Concord, it’s a fun way to have dinner with people from the neighborhood. This is my second time visiting, the first visit i didn’t know what to expect, I wanted to just check it out. It was much colder the week I went and there weren’t many trucks that caught my attention. For the southern californian’s who read my reviews and are familiar with food trucks, did you know Bacon Mania has a Northern California food truck? I didn’t. I don’t recall ordering anything. But this visit I ordered the garlic fries from Opie’s Stacked Burger Food Truck. It was good. From my two visits at this off the grid event, there is always some kind of entertainment, typically a musician. This visit had a really talented group with two ladies who were back up singers. They did a great job. Both visits, have not been very crowded, i can see it being more popular during the summer months, when it’s warmer out and stays light longer!

This Off the Grid pop up is located on the lovely Todos Santos plaza, a short 0.3 mile walk from BART. I’ve gotten some of the best food here. I like it because if my husband and I can’t agree on where to get dinner, we can come here and both get what we want but still eat together. I love the string lights they bring and also plenty of seating in the park and folding chairs they bring.

Off the Grid is just that. Off the Grid, off the beaten path, off the radar. And the movement is growing on the westcoast in particular. I will write separate reviews as the time progresses about the food trucks I’ve visited, this is more about the event itself. I was lucky enough to go for my first time to the Off the Grid that they put on in Dublin like a year ago. I’ve been to food trucks before, but nothing like this. I knew it was going to become big in a matter of time. I had the pleasure to meet one of the people who started the movement through a friend of mine that does the photography for Off the Grid. He mentioned he wanted to do one at Todos Santos… guess what.“TADA!” he made it happen and myself and I’m sure people in Concord are delighted. The food trucks varies from week to week which I like, gives different options to choose from. The live music adds a hipster vibe to the event. I like also the fact that OTG brings extra seating to the event, that makes people want ro stay and maybe sample more things. Using the Todos Santos location is perfect because of the convenience factor for alot of people IE: Banks, Pubs, Bart, ect. That’s what draws me in personally. In closing, if you’ve never been to an Off the Grid event, visit the webpage and see when they’re going to have one in your area. This location happens on Mondays. With the other Saturdays in the Willows shoppong center in Concord. As always visit one and Unilocal your own experience!

So I’ve been to a lot of the other off the grids: pleasant hill, Oakland, walnut creek, presidio, fort mason, etc and there’s nothing wrong with this one per say but it is super small. There are 8 trucks one road and some live music. Again nothing wrong with that but with so many off the grid events I would rather go to one with more people, trucks, and also allow alcohol. All the other off the grid events I have been too either allow you to bring alcohol or sell it. The plus side to this one though is the free parking. Im not saying I wont go back, if I am in the area I definitely will but if I am looking for food truck events I would pick another spot.

We had burnt ends BBQ tonight and it was delicious!!! Very friendly & great food! There were about 6 – 7 trucks to pick from so I enjoyed there was a wide selection of choices for off the grid! Will be back again!

It’s back! This time in Todos Santos, a much better location than the Willows parking lot. About 8 trucks. All kinds of goodies. The Napa Style Sundae from Frozen Kushterd was amazing: Vanilla icecream with burnt caramel, himalayan rock salt and extra virgin olive oil. Try it. Other good trucks include Streatery, Drewski’s, Bacon, and The Grateful Gypsy Bistro.

Off the Grid has return to Concord. This time the location is at Todos Santos Plaza. A great location for Off the Grid to be at. It is surrounded by other businesses(Wells Fargo, Baskin Robins, Peets Coffee & Tea). The first day that it launch was amazing. It attracted plenty of people. Certain food trucks were sold out before 8pm. Is this a great location for Off the Grid to be at Todos Santos Plaza? It is much better than the Willow Shopping Center. My new Monday Night place to be at.

OTG has come back to Concord! Impressive line up of 8 food trucks. Something for everyone with multiple flavor options. Cool local band, from Martinez, providing the musical backdrop while a steady stream of people line up to get their food.
