In San Francisco, a 2 scoop ice cream sundae for $ 8 actually doesn’t seem outrageous. Especially compared to 2 scoops and toppings at a place like Smitten. This is a manageable afternoon snack portion(unlike the Ghirardelli sundaes which you must share). Brownie Sundae with Nana Nutella Ice Cream, Caramel Sauce and Chocolate Crunchies: I have a complicated relationship with banana flavored sweets. Fake banana(e.g. Now & Later, Runts) is the most disgusting candy flavor known to man. Real banana(e.g. Tokyo Banana, Chocolate Covered Banana) is pure heaven. Thank goodness the banana in the Nana Nutella tasted like ripe bananas put into ice cream form. Unfortunately, the Nutella aspect was pretty weak in comparison; which is strange since Nutella usually overpowers banana. The caramel was nice and rich. The brownies were a bit too cakey for my tastes; I prefer them dense and almost fudge-like. The crunchies were a fun topping.

I have never had a frozen custard before, but it sounded too good to pass up! The food truck attended an even near my work so I tried a small half chocolate half lemon meringue. The portion was perfect for a small, larger than expected(bonus) but not too big. The chefs were nice and the service was fast. The frozen custard is absolutely delicious, cream and rich! The only thing left wanting for me was that waffle cone! Cups only, no cones. I highly recommend if you are ever lucky enough to stumble upon this delightful frozen treat!

Even on a cold night. I had to have my frozen dessert treat. I almost avoided it, until I saw the flavor and topping options. Frozen Custard — banana pecan. Topping — maple roasted pecans. Say no more. I got my scoop and was satisfied. -$ 4.50 for small(but gave medium size cup) — portion size was WELLWORTHIT! –The owner was awesome and did everything proper!!!

IzzyA’s is one of my favorite food trucks! Dulce De Leche Frozen Custard with Toffee and nuts is yummyrific! Maybe too sweet for you, but just perfect for me!(5 stars) Bread Pudding Sundae with Vanilla Frozen Custard and whiskey butterscotch sauce. OMG! Everything about this sundae was awesome! Bread Pudding was quality goodness! Whiskey Butterscotch sauce accentuated this dessert perfectly! The Vanilla Frozen Custard was on point! The combination of all these ingredients made my taste buds dance for joy! Cannot wait to stop at their food truck again and again and again…

Just spotted them at the Lafayette Art & Wine Fedtival. They were super friendly. Aad Aaahhhh… So good on a hot day! You gotta get the Boba Float! The combination of custard, root beer and boba is just so good. It’s a fun drink to have, the only problem is that i don’t like to share with my kids.

Boba Float… OMG! So rich, sweet and so creamy! The boba was perfectly cooked and i believe they put some condensed milk at the bottom for an extra sweet surprise! Anyways, it was heavenly! Plus, the ice cream is organic! Hubby ordered the vanilla ice cream sandwich. He said it was pretty awesome too!

I’ve had frozen custard before so I wasn’t thinking anything special as I walked up to the truck. I ordered a root beer float and a small banana butter pecan(one flavor!). The root beer float was a good size and they give you a full can of Blue Sky root beer. I can’t review the taste of the float because my boyfriend devoured it. As for the banana butter pecan, it was absolutely fantastic. Creamy, classic butter pecan with a hint of banana. I was a little hesitant to order it, but I’m so glad I did! Highly recommend both. I regret not snapping a pic to share, but they didn’t last long enough to get one after our first bites!

Oh mah goodness! Another Frozen Custard truck at Off the Grid. I have to get some frozen custard! IzzAy’s is amazing! My top three dessert trucks at Off the Grid(I will not mention the competition) I have seen this truck at a few Off the Grid markets. Every time I come see them it is like they expected me to order from them which is ALWAYS right. What can I say about a dessert truck that is family own.

I’ve only come across this truck once, but they lured me in with their awesome flavor options. And as tempting as the ice cream sandwiches were, I ended up going just for a typical scoop. But if I see them again, I’ll definitely try the sammies! I had the MOJITO flavor frozen custard. Yes, mojito! It was amazing. Creamy, but not heavy. Tangy, but also sweet. And in the hot hot heat, it was sooooo ridiculously refreshing. I wish I could’ve bought a whole gallon full of the stuff and kept it in my freezer at home.

Pricey, but really really good. I’ve seen this truck stop by the Pleasant Hill Bart station on Fridays when the other food trucks are out here. My ride was running a bit late today and I felt like having an end of the day treat. The guy who stands up front was extremely nice and gave good recommendations. I went with a classic root beer float and it was delicious! The custard used in it was so darn good and they used a different kind of root beer made with real cane sugar. Overall, like I said it was a little pricey($ 6 bucks!), but I really enjoyed it and although I can’t eat stuff like this all the time I will definitely give them another go next time they’re at the Bart station!

A root beer float for $ 7.00!!! It was good, but a little on the pricey side :/I like that they use natural ingredients and that they have some really unique flavors, such as orange caramel. I was very surprised that I enjoyed the orange caramel! Light flavors, not overpowering or too sweet.

Happened upon this truck when I was at a restaurant right next to Oakland First Fridays — didn’t even realize it was happening! I had a sudden craving for ice cream, so I went to the first truck I saw, and I’m so glad I did. \\ FOOD/DRINK QUALITY: I got the coffee-flavored frozen custard, and it was ah-mazing. It was creamy and rich without being overwhelming, the coffee flavor was on point, and there were hints of sea salt and caramel or something in there which gave it a unique texture and flavor — yum! It was a little bit pricy($ 4), but I usually expect at least that much out of food trucks. \\ SERVICE: Very quick, very friendly. \\ ENVIRONMENT: I mean, it’s a food truck environment, so there’s that. They have a cute truck, colorful with cows on it, and they usually prop up a little chalk board with their special flavors(the truck has it, too), and they set up a table in front for the cashier to take orders. I really, really like this truck! It was a happy coincidence that I happened upon this truck, but I’d definitely come again.

Tried IzzyA’s at Oakland First Fridays and LOVED it. Not too many places you can get frozen custard in SF so I was excited to try some. Got a scoop of chocolate in a homemade cone and my friend got the sundae with brownie and whiskey caramel. Lovely service. A bit pricey at $ 4 for a small but the scoop was generous.
