Really good food! Inexpensive! Workers were extra nice and friendly would go here again for sure. Keep in mind it’s one of those hole in the wall places which in my opinion tend to have the best food.

Great food. The setting is what you’d expect from a taqueria, though there is plenty of seating and decently comfy chairs. It was empty when we arrived on a Thursday evening, which doesn’t generally bode well, but truly, the food is GREAT! Everything is freshly made, tortillas are made in house, and the seafood stew had the BIGGEST clams we’d ever seen. I couldn’t have that due to my allergies, but my friend and husband said it was spicy and really flavorful, with TONS of clams, mussels, crab claws, shrimp, plus zucchini, tomatoes and a really good broth. I had the steak quesadilla and it was huge and flavorful – easily enough to take home or share. The abuela who runs the place is super nice, made a number of accommodations for us with a cheery attitude, and even sat down to have her own dinner next to us. The location is a bit tricky to find – it’s on the backside of Park and Shop, next to O’Reilly’s hardware. The sign doesn’t light up, so it gets a bit lost in the shadows; just look for O’Reilly’s and then the neon signs in the window and the cheesy flags. Would definitely return again.

Went back a second time. Better than the first. So much meat in the tacos! And the nice lady who cooks it all up acts like everyone’s abuela. Love it!

So after Unilocaling Mexican food in the Concord area where we’re staying, I saw that this place had excellent reviews and had our oh so favorite«street tacos» for 1.50 $ a piece, which is a steal. We decided to visit for dinner one night and I am SO glad that we did. It was extremely hard for us to find as the directions on Unilocal landed us at the Dollar Tree. It’s actually across the street and at the front of those shops. Parking was a bitch and people drove about 30 miles an hour throughout the parking lot. My advice? Park in the back and do a little bit of walking. Your car AND your ass will thank you. When I first walked in, I thought that the place was small, colorful and clean. A friendly woman was running the register and she helped explain to me the different kinds of meat that I could have on our tacos. We decided on three tacos«al pastor» which were phenomenal. They were on corn tortillas and came with fresh cilantro and onion.(You can pick up grilled onion, green salsa and radishes on the little bar area). We also got the beef fajita dinner and the Chile Relleno dinner. The beef fajitas were tender and juicy and were mixed with cooked bell peppers and onions. It was enough for two medium sized tacos. There was refried beans and rice on the side as well as sour cream and guacamole and a sliced tomato. My husband gave the Chile Relleno a solid«6 ½» and said it was pretty good, although lacking a bit in flavor and taste. He also said that they wish they offered to add meat to the inside of the Chile Relleno. They don’t serve fountain drinks but they have a plentiful selection of sodas and beer and the flan was to die for. The prices were very affordable. For three tacos, two full dinners, a beer and two sodas, it was all about 30 $. They also have a few arcade games for the kids and the two flat-screens were showing soccer. All in all, I’d be back for sure. Nice little spot!

This is a hidden gem! You have to go to the back of the shopping center to get in. My wife recommended to get their wet burrito with shrimps, best decision ever! It was tasty, hot, and just delicious. Coming back for wet burrito with shrimp again!

We decided to try taqueria la soledad due to the Unilocal reviews! Worst decision we made beware! first thing when we sat down a guy approach our table and placed a bunch of DVD’s that he was selling we came to eat not to buy DVD’s! Our food came 5 – 10 min apart by the time my husband got his soup we were all done eating is just ridiculous and by the time he got tortillas he was done eating, by the way if you request limes for your soup you will get charge for it. DIRTY, DIRTYRESTAURANT! The ladies that were in the kitchen and the cashier where so loud that you can only hear them cursing BAD, BAD.

I’ve frequented Taqueria LaPlaza and El Aguila, and thought they were both good, but not what we were looking for in tasty, cheap, authentic Mexican. They are those things, but neither were anything to write home about. Taqueria La Soledad, on the other hand, delivers generously on each of those three factors. I had the wet chicken burrito and my wife had Asada, chicken, and al pastor tacos. We agree that the Asada is their best meat, followed by pastor and then chicken. None of them is a loser, but the Asada is tender, juicy and flavorful. The chicken is tender, but has also been given a crisp right before serving. The sauce on the wet burrito had a fair amount of spice to it – probably too much for a kid. It was just right for me, and I’m not a spicy food kind of guy. Note that the tacos come with a spicy green salsa.

Found this place off Unilocal.Initially came for the tacos that looked delicious in the pictures but ended up getting a carne asada super burrito. Definitely the best burrito in the area! Authentic taste and really filled me up. Meat was cooked perfectly and spread throughout the burrito so I wasn’t stuck just eating beans and rice haha. Worth every penny, and the staff is so friendly. The employee who took our order was really personable and asked us how our burrito was on our way out. Highly recommended!

I’ve been here many times on my lunch break. If you eat in, you’ll definitely leave smelling like the food they prepare, as the kitchen is not completely walled off from the dining area so the aromas of the kitchen stick to you. Their wet carne asada burrito is the one. I love the(somewhat) spicy sauce they use to smother the burrito and the dish comes with fresh avocado.($ 10~) I’ve had their small sized tacos and they’re pretty good, decently priced as well.(3 for $ 5~) I’ve had the Diablo shrimp dish as well(or at least I think that’s what it was called.) Good flavors, comes with rice and beans and tortillas.($ 12~)

Dont let the store front fool you. This place has been in the same location for twenty years. With original receipes and kick back atmosphere, this place is a must go to when in the area. This place is a little difficult to find at first, but dont get discouraged. You will be greatly rewarded for your journey once you get inside. I had the wet burrito, ceviche tostada, and the menudo. Its very reasonable priced and the complimemtary salsa is made to order. Very tasty. I used it on pretty much anything I ate. I usually don’t get wet burritos but this one stood out and was highly recommend for a reason. I ordered the carne asada burrito which had rice, pinto beans I would highly reccomend this place to anyone who loves Mexican food. I will be back soon. Stayed tuned for how other items on the menu taste.

IAMSOLDONONEVISITALONE!!! Well one thing before we start, DONOTJUDGETHERESTUARANTBYIT’S APPERANCE!!! I was in the mood for a burrito and despite Las Montanas being near, I was in the mood for something different. I saw this place and decided to give it a try. I walked in and knew actually what I wanted«Super Carne Asada Burrito!!» I ordered in Spanish(place does seem more catered to Spanish speaking folks) and ask for it to go. When I finally ate the burrito, I was taken a back. I’m from the mission and the Carne Asada, do I dare say, reminded me of «The Taqueria» located on 26th and mission. This Carne Asada was F’N good. I’m not a whole beans kinda guy, so I regret not asking for refried beans. But overall, this is the best Carne Asada burrito I have had in concord and most of the Claycord area. So if you are in the mood for a great Carne Asada Burrito, Hit this spot. P. S. apparently this place has been here for 20 years.

Yum Yum Yum. Enjoyed a steak burrito for lunch and was very impressed. It was To Go so I couldn’t do the«wet» version but that’s planned for the next trip. The Super Burrito was the perfect size for a guy with a decent appetite and had decent flavor — good quantity of sour cream and avocado. I have to see if they have a spicy salsa next time since the standard salsa was very mellow. Tried some fresh tortilla’s while I was there — they were pressing their own! Very light and tasty. Got there on a Wednesday about 1145a for lunch and timed it perfectly! Yup, its on the list for a 2nd trip and likely many more!

First of all, we had huge hopes for Taqueria La Soledad. We researched Unilocal mercilessly for the absolute best Mexican food in Concord, where we recently stayed while on vacation. We are huge fans of hole in the wall restaurants and intentionally seek them out, especially while traveling. Taqueria La Soledad really is a hole in the wall spot, on the back side of the Park ‘n Shop complex, near the intersection of Broadway and Salvio. It was difficult for us to find, especially since we’re not from the area. When we got there, it was about 6:30PM on a Monday and the place was empty, but we were immediately greeted by a sweet woman and another man who was wiping down some tables. She asked if we knew what we wanted, and we said yes — three veggie burritos, wet(as some of the reviews here recommended — «the best wet burrito in Concord…»). «Okay,» she said. «So, frijoles, arroz, queso, crema, avocado, tomato, lettuce?» Yes, we said… and wet! We also ordered three horchatas, before we were told to sit anywhere and that we pay after we eat. The woman again came out and double checked, «you said three veggie burritos? With avocado? My husband(who was at the stovetop as we were ordering) says you wanted wet?» I did not hear you say that, but he says yes, they asked for wet!” «Yes, please,» we said. It didn’t take long before she brought us three large, beautiful, smothered burritos. With the first bite, I immediately noticed the spiciness of the sauce that was on the burrito and told my husband that it was going to be too hot for our 9 year old to eat(and typically he does alright with spicy food!). Sure enough, he took a bite, and said«my mouth is burning!» After a couple more bites and an increasing complaint of his burrito being way too spicy, we asked if we could order him a quesadilla instead. «Okay,» the woman said, then asked, «is it too spicy for him?» She proceeded to come over and explain that the batch of salsa they had made that morning was spicier than they ever make it. They had run out of one of the chiles they typically blend with the chile de árbol and habanero that usually goes into the sauce, so it was just those two spicy peppers that made up the sauce on the burritos. «I told my husband this salsa is too hot to serve!» She said. «I’m sorry!» Of course she had not mentioned this before, when we ordered our food, especially when she knew one of the burritos was for a child. We expected them to waive the cost of one burrito, as the reason it couldn’t be eaten was the admitted over-spiciness(nearly inedible) of the sauce that they knew was being served. Instead, we were charged for three burritos and the quesadilla, too. That was disappointing, as the folks at La Soledad were fully aware that they were serving something they even claimed was«too spicy to serve» and when it couldn’t be eaten just because of that, we still had to cover the cost of their mistake. That was a huge turnoff. Whenever we find ourselves in Concord again, we will definitely be looking into other taquerias to try rather than returning.
