I placed my order and things were fine When I got my food back I inspected before I left since was a to go order. I have an extensive list of food allergies and I kid you not I’m seating her itching as I right this review I ask for my food items separated and as anyone that has food allergies does I specified my request down to details to avoid mishap When I requested for my order to be fixed the workers acted as if was a issue and stood at kitchen arguing about how it could or could not be done merely few feet away from me they spoke in Spanish and I don’t come across as a Spanish speaker well I’m and in the end I was still forced to take home the refried beans mixed with my rice and was given a side of black bean and told not to fuss or the worker that took my order would be I trouble and told to scoop it off It doesn’t work that way food allergies are serious matter If u have specific dietary needs beware might want avoid the place they will not take it serious I was made to feel as kids trowing a tantrum over not wanting veggies when in fact food allergies have direct effect on health an many could be deadly

This review is for my several visits after my first review. The food has improved so much! It’s just like I remembered when I first tried Los Gallos. The rice is soft, the meat is juicy and my food was evenly distributed. The cashiers are still super friendly and efficient. Five stars! I recommend this restaurant for some good filling food. I would also like to thank the owner, Maria C., for taking pride in her business and listening to her customers concerns.

I go here about 4 times a month, usually for taco Tuesday. I usually order the chicken tacos, chicken nachos, chicken quesadilla, or bacon and egg breakfast burrito. The service is fast and the staff are very nice.

I went to this restaurant when my attempt was to go to Taqueria Los Gallos on Grant! I had it all mapped out before I left the house but I figure I’ll work out first and head out to the taqueria after a fun workout. So I go on Unilocal and I can’t remember the name but for some odd ball reason. I kept thinking it’s near Ranch 99 so I found this place instead. It was definitely busy when I came in, there was a line and it took awhile to move. Once I placed my order for 5 tacos(al pastor, pollo), I had a long wait. I became restless. They call themselves«express» — yeah right. Be prepared to wait. If you spend more than $ 5, you can get chips with your to-go meal. The chips aren’t bad. The salsa was just okay. I enjoyed my tacos overall but they remind me of street tacos from a taco truck, so the type of tacos I like! The wait here really just bugged me, I am not sure if I’ll come back. I am going to check out the original place I intended to go to one day!

**PERMANENTLYCLOSED** Now operating under the name: TAQUERIALOSPORTALES New business took over Los Gallos Express sometime around late 2015, however you wouldn’t be able to tell unless you actually stopped to read the name on the outside. From the inside you wouldn’t be able to tell, menu and interior is exactly the same. I realized the change Dec ’15 when I noticed my tacos on Taco Tuesday tasted a bit off. When I looked around, I noticed the decal on the window had changed. Later that night, I had FOODPOISONING from the tacos. Even though the new places is basically Los Gallos with a different name, the quality of the food has change and I will never go back. If you like Los Gallos, go to the main location on Grant St. between Hot Dog Palace and Baskin Robins.

I love coming to Los Gallos Express! The burritos are always delicious and quick. My favorite meat is the Al Pastor, its spicy and smoky. I always get it with an Horchata and chips. Its nice to find a good cheap Mexican place. I recommend this place looking to satisfy a Mexican craving while at Park n Shop.

Love it. I ordered a chimichanga with shrimp and a cheese, beans and rice papusa. Service was pretty fast. The servers here are pretty friendly. Also tasted spicy shrimp. It was really good. Not as spicy as I was hoping something called Diablo would be. There’s plenty of space for people to eat. I would recommend this to anyone who loves taquarias.

This place hands down has the best chimichanga I’ve ever had. It was light, crispy, not oily, served with a flavorful salsa, guacamole and sour cream on top. I had the chicken. Highly recommended!

Me and my hubby normally come here Mondays or Tuesdays when we are in town and since this was cinco de mayo week we came on Monday and Tuesday, great choice the cashier here is always friendly and smiling. On Monday I tried both the green and red enchiladas($ 1 item of the day) and I reconfirmed that green is just my favorite sauce. And Tuesday cinco de mayo I had the taco Tuesdays deal and was not disappointed again I enjoy the grilled chicken tacos and just add lot’s of Nopales, cucumber and different sauces and of course the chips too hubby enjoyed his tomatillo wet burrito with black beans and carne asada.

Came here for the first time and I am very disappointed. I understand it was Cinco De Mayo but here goes: I did a phone order for pozoles they said they have it and asked me for what kind of tortillas I want and that it was going to take 20 minutes. Got to the restaurant 10 minutes after I called and asked if it was ready since the restaurant at the time wasn’t busy at all. Then they told me they didn’t have anymore. Too lazy to make it or? I decided to order pupusas but nope they didn’t have it either so I said what about a tamale? And guess what? They didn’t have it. And finally I just ordered the flautas and was a little excited about it but I came home and my flautas was hard and too crunchy and the whole plate just looked terrible. I might as well bought taquitos at safeway. Customer service was ok, friendly employees but please stop being lazy!

This was a good restaurant to eat at when it first opened. The last 3 times we’ve gone to eat there, the food was horrible. The rice is was hard, the carne asada was overcooked(you might as well eat beef jerky) and their chicken burrito is really a sour cream burrito. I had to un roll my burrito to adjust the food inside so it is evenly distributed. I’ve ordered food to go, I always have to check my order before I leave, they get it right half the time. I will not be going back to this location. I will drive further to the Clayton Rd. location where the food is always good. 2 stars for the friendly cashier.

Hubby and I ordered the super burrito with grilled chicken. Huge burrito, could not finish. Did not taste too bad. However the restaurant looks like it could use a little cleaning. Kitchen is visible from dining room, and it looks cleaner than the dining room.

This location sucks! Don’t call ahead for an order, they will tell you to wait 25 minutes, then when they show up THEN they will start making your order! To top it off, 35 minutes after showing up, its still not ready! How does it take that long to make food? It has Express in their restaurant name?!? Two stars for the food, zero stars for the lying and the service. If you’re not gonna start making food cause you are scared the customer wont show up, don’t tell them to wait 25 minutes before coming over first! Or maybe give them a heads up that you don’t take phone orders. #servicefail

I have to agree, their take on al pastor is good. Life is good after a bit of taco heaven.

The burrito was good! I had a grilled chicken super burrito. Not the most friendly service and such small cups for salsa but other than that, it was good!

its all in the name. Love the food, very authentic and delicious. Prices are affordable and food is served rather fast. Love the aguas and the flat screens beer is also sold so that’s a plus and you can listen to your tunes on the jukebox

Not much in the way of ambiance but the carnitas tacos are yummy and it is nice to help yourself to salsa n chips and not b at the mercy of a wait staff to refill it. Also the Camarones a las Diabla are really spicy but impossible to stop eating cuz the sauce is the best I’ve had. Made the mistake of trying the same dish at a place in Martinez and was really disappointed . Occasionally I just want quick, consistent, tasty, well priced food and this is where we come for a good meal. As a caterer its nice to enjoy food others make! :)

Food not bad I ordered the super taco with no guacamole and it came with no guacamole and no salsa. I also order the carne asada fries and they were more like wedges. Salsa was decent. They were pretty quick for being cinco de mayo it was empty at 9pm.

Taqueria Los Gallo Express presently has an all day $ 1 tacos special, pork or chicken only. eats: lengua burrito(5.75) –nice sized burrito, tender lengua, so so salsa. 3.5 stars frioles refritoes: –salsa and chips available from salsa bar. –lots of seating available. –cheaper eats at the market down the block but food quality is better here. so 4 stars.
