I don’t live anywhere near Concord but I do make the drive east to stock up at Ted’s. This small shop has a great selection of European sausages, pierogis, beers, pickles, and other interesting food items. Ted’s prices are reasonable, especially considering that a lot of what is here is very hard to find elsewhere in the Bay Area.

Wide selection of European meats, cheeses, candies, pickles, etc. If you are looking for your favorite Polish beer, Ted’s have these readily available. In addition, you can easily engage in a conversation with the friendly Ted himself.

Exceptional selection of high quality Polish, German and Hungarian meat products, either from country of origin or from East Coast/Chicago. Also spices, canned products, cheese, bread, etc. I’m originally from Poland and come here twice a year for my Christmas/Eastern shopping, sometimes more often. As I live in Fremont it’s quite a journey but it’s definitely worth it, I wasn’t able to find comparable deli in my area.

Good job Ted! You made this place better than it ever was with the previous owner. I highly reccomend this deli for anyone who wants good Polish and German sausages, beer and bread.

I’m very glad we have Czech/Polish/German store around here. They used to have better selection but I guess it wasn’t selling or he can’t get the same stuff anymore? There is another store in Walnut Creek and San Ramon that I go to when I need some ingredients this store doesn’t have. Also they are closed on Sun and Mon. So plan accordingly. I need to drive to San Ramon today to get some Czech beers I need for my party tonight Otherwise they have good stuff.

Absolutely fantastic! We are new to the East Bay area and originally from Chicago so we were more than thrilled to find this wonderful delicatessen. It has everything from the deli meats and Polish cheeses to a huge assortment of cooking essentials as well as a huge choice of Polish beer! I thought I was going to have to have my spicy ketchup shipped in from Chicago by relatives, but thanks to this place that will no longer be necessary :-)

Despite what Unilocal says when you go to this page, this place is NOT closed! I just called them this weekend to confirm and went down there to buy some great sausage, bread, pierogi and all kinds of preserved veggies in jars. You can hear Polish radio while you’re in the store and the owner is very nice.

Found this gem purely by accident and boy am I glad that I did. I love meandering around and pretending I’m back in Germany. So many yummy treats, from meats to candies and mustards to beer and beer and more beer. Purely by coincidence I have a client with a Hungarian mother in law who requested a few creature comforts for her stay this past holiday. I could have shopped in SF but figured I’d give this place a try. With list in hand I showed the very kind store owner(I in no way was going to try to pronounce these items) what I wanted, he had most of it and what he didn’t have he had great suggestions for similar items. Beata was one happy mother in law and I was one happy personal assistant with a great holiday bonus!

Ted’s Delikatessen is a great place to find Polish and German import food. Easy to find off of I-680, a few blocks east on Monument Blvd. There is parking in a small shopping center, and I was lucky and got one of the spots next to the front door. As we walked in, Ted was behind the deli counter, and greeted us. I haven’t been here in a few years since the previous ownership, and noticed right away that there is a less cluttered look, with better quality items. Baked goods, candies, condiments, canned and other staple foods are neatly organized on the left side, while fresh and frozen meats and cheeses and other perishables are on the right. Imported beer and wine from all over central and eastern Europe is in the back. While looking at some of the refrigerated items, Ted reminded us to keep the doors open as briefly as possible, as it costs two thousand dollars per month just to keep the stuff fresh, and business is down, so every little bit helps. He was worried he might have to close if things don’t pick up. I hope this exceptional deli can endure.

Excellent selection of European(mostly Polish) foods. Very well stocked, and the owner is a very pleasant and helpful gentleman. Lots of varieties of polish kielbasa, pierogi, beer, candy, fresh-baked breads, and frozen pastry delicacies. Real Polish Dill Pickles, horseradish, mustard and herring delicacies. Definitely worth a drive.

Great little shop! Nice owner! Says he’s been here now for 4 years and speaks great English. This place has all the chocolates, sausages, deli meats, and yummy bacon that you look for when shopping for Polish food. Plus an impressive array of dry foods, sauces, condiments, Polish/German/Hungarian stuff, and, of course, beer. Lots and lots of great Polish beer. Look in the coolers for fresh handmade sauerkraut and take a peek at the candy bins in the back area to get your chocolate covered plums and honey candy fix. LARGE variety of dried sausages but everything is packed in that butcher shop shrink plastic for freshness so you gotta be brave. I brought a ton of dried sausage home for my son who is half Polish, and he LOVED it. Took it to his Polish dad’s house and now I am in trouble because I didn’t tell him about this place before now. Bottom line? We’ll be back. Yes, parking is tight, and it’s in one of the poorer parts of Concord. Nothing too rough, but some people won’t like that. Consider yourself warned.

I have no idea what to do in this place, but I have a good time, every time. I frequent the busy car wash next door and find myself unwilling to sit still with the other knuckleheads while my car runs through the wash as this can take some time on the weekends. Hence, one day, I wandered over to be overwhelmed by a wall of meat products looking delectable in every which way. I really wanted some sort of tour guide to lead me through the sausage paradise, but, alas, I found myself picking a little of this and that. No head cheese, thanks. I had a Polish roommate in college who would make meat innard jello that would jiggle disgustingly in the refrigerator and I really can’t believe people eat this. Then again, I chow down on Chiccharron and Tripe and trotter soup(Menudo) so I really can’t judge. The Nuremburg sausage looked really good, but, eh, I got overwhelmed by the political significance, so need to come back another time for that. Anyway, I vow to come buy a different sausage product every time I get the car washed. Fun stuff! Have also found some killer Spaetzle, which is one of the most awesome products ever — a home made noodle that you boil, then you sauté in butter until it is a little browned in butter. TODIEFOR. They also have some great rye bread. Lovely lovely lovely. Lots of exotic candy and beer, too.

Good selection of Polish and German grocery. It’s refreshing to walk into a small store, talked to the friendly shopkeeper, and spent $ 1 less on a 500-mL bottle of German import beer than at Wh — Foods.

As a Midwest transplant, I miss the Polish food and influence here in the Bay Area. Where I come from — every major grocery store had a Polish/Eastern European aisle with many of the products sold here! The selection of meats and sausages is awesome and includes both Polish and German varieties. Ted’s carries Saag’s — a local brand, but in variations I haven’t seen elsewhere: Nurnberger Brats(the best!) and German Frankfurters to name a few. Sausages seems to average about $ 6 a package. There is a huge selection of Pierogis in at least eight different kinds — most of which are brands from Chicago. Pierogis are $ 6.95 — a price that would be steep for Chicago, but feelsl like a steal here because they are so impossible to find! There’s also a beer and wine section with gems like Okocim and all sorts of fruit wines. Been here a few times now and will definitely going back — especially now that it’s summer and time to BBQ!!!

This place brought me right back to Bavaria. Huge selection of meats, cheeses, and Beer. I went looking for a special type of beer that I could only find online, they didn’t have it, but I spoke with the owner or employee and he said he’d contact me if he could get it. That in my book is awesome, almost 5 stars! I bought a bunch of other beers with his recommendation, everyone is pretty solid. I grew up in this neighborhood, and the location is a bit sketch.

This is by far The BESTPLACE in East Bay and San Francisco Area where you can find anything your Parents /Grandparents used to cook and bake. We were extremely pleased with the friendly staff and the quality of products sold in this small grocery store. Highly recommended to anyone who loves European Markets. By the way — try their«Authentic European Head Cheese». A. & P.*

I loved this place. Awesome imports from Poland. You cannot ask for better! Aisles of mustards, horseradish, fresh and frozen meats galore. Slightly expensive due to what I’d imagine is fairly significant costs — but the quality is excellent. Worth the drive from San Francisco!
