I wish I could give less than one star. I went into the Conroe location this past Wednesday. I ordered what I wanted and when I went to pay for it, the cashier was extremely snotty when I handed her my $ 10 bill. She wrinkled her face and just stared at me. When I asked her what was wrong she told me the price(I think it was $ 5 and change). I said yes and that’s a ten. She said she needed a different bill because my money was no good. When I asked why she said because it was wrinkled and was missing a small piece of the corner. I have never been refused service, let alone been told my money was no good somewhere. I took my money and left. I will never be back and will be sure to tell everyone about the tacky, classless, degrading service I received.

I’m still undecided about these Kolaches. I guess the bar is set pretty high from my old neighborhood independent store. KF’ seem over priced, and the meats are skimpy. I’m going back to Shipley’s

I really avoid 1 star reviews I try to give the benefit of doubt cause no matter how good the place is they all have bad days; but, my daughter likes the ham and cheese(not for me its ground up into a pulp and pumped into a biscuit); but, when were in Conroe and shes made good grades, I try to get her a dozen. No matter the time they never have a dozen. Your either stuck waiting 20 min or not at all. Just poorly managed. When Im there I watch people come in the door order the ham and cheese and be politely told their out over and over. Not sure they really care. They are friendly but always say the same thing«Its our best seller». Some walk out some just shake their heads and get something else. Ive called, written, suggested and complained same result. Can’t wait until our daughter gets move out of this phase and I will never have to go to this place again

They open at 6am, today 5⁄14 they were ready to go at 5:30. These ladies could say they are not open or ready but they greet you with a smile and work so hard for this company. These are the kind of employees you would love to have.

We were in the area early in the morning. I was craving La Palma, Ave G, tacos but didn’t recall if they had breakfast tacos. Hubby was craving kolaches. So we look on Unilocal and find this place close to Starbucks. I let hubby win. So we entered and I noticed the kolaches are round not elongated. They had so many flavors including unique and a few weekly specialty flavors. The ladies were very helpful explaining how they’re made and how a couple kolaches tasted. I liked how stuffed and fresh they were. The only disappointing one was the sausage, cheese and jalapeño one. It was kind of lacking filling. The chorizo and egg had a nice comforting taste on a cold rainy morning. They have six versions of Katz coffee including one decaf. They also have the lil liquid cream containers in plain, vanilla and hazelnut. Coffee was good for a fast food place. We would go back if in the area again. Only negative was the prices seemed a little high for each kolache. Unilocal Review #276

Was traveling around and since the Kolache Factory near home is so good I figured any chain they would all be the same, right? WRONG! First, I got the«Kolache of the Month» which was cheeseburger. Kind of inventive, it was a little hamburger patty, cheese, diced onion, and a couple pickles, all sealed up in the kolache dough with sesame seeds on top. Not too bad, tasted pretty much like a little fast food burger… kind of more expensive though($ 2.50) than what you can get for $ 1 at McDonalds. My friend got 3 sausage & gravy kolaches…(Those are my favorite too, it’s as close to biscuits & gravy as you can get in a nice portable roll). Takes a bite in the first one… no gravy… just ground sausage… Okay, take another bite… same thing… pulls it apart and it’s just all sausage. Takes a bite from the 2nd one… no gravy. Takes a bite from the 3rd… no gravy… I tried a bite and had to agree, it was just ground sausage in a dough ball… The usual place we go to it’s a nice yummy mixture of ground sausage and thick cream gravy, He walks up to the counter to explain to the lady and show her there is no gravy in their«sausage & gravy» kolache. She is quick to say, «Yes there is!» and that’s all she would say. She didn’t offer any kind of apology for his dissatisfaction or even offer him a choice of a different one or anything… That’s just BAD customer service. He throws them in the trash and we walk out… Will never go back to that location again.

I keep hearing about how great Kolaches are and how I can’t leave Texas without having one… so on the fly I stopped by the Kolache Factory to pickup something quick for lunch. I must say, I was not only grossed out by the Kolache(Ham and Cheese) but turned off to Kolaches all together. The doe was nearly raw in texture, the ham was overwhelming in its quantity and it was wet. The cheese was not great either and more runny and properly melted. On the bright side of this dark situation, the girls working here were very friendly and had me in and out quickly. I was in a hurry so that was appreciated. Over all I would suggest skipping this place and looking else were for what was descried to me as a real treat.
