WOWWWWWW!!! Food was absolutely amazing. My husband and I had a little bit of everything. The shrimp, pork chops, catfish, banana pudding, sweet potato pie oh and gumbo. The gumbo wasn’t your average style creo gumbo. It had mushrooms in it for starters but no complaints it was still good very flavorful FAR from bland… All the fried items were perfect… NOW the banana pudding was one of a kind it had perhaps a cinnamon or nutmeg taste that makes it out of this world… The sweet potato, let’s say am upset I didn’t just buy the whole damn pie… It’s sad because I live two hours away. Wish this restaurant was in my hometown. BAYSEAS would make a killing in FT.HOODTX… hint hint.

The food is outstanding but management MUST get an expert in there to structure processes to support good service. The food is too good for the wait staff NOT to make EXCELLENT Tips! And they are not thru no fault of there own. I would like to see them lose the Styrofoam. I tried the gumbo last visit and will be back for a big bowl! WAKEUPMANAGEMENT

This maybe my new favorite fish place in San Antonio. Soft and tender catfish, no fishy gray middle. And the greens are so good I may never make them at home again! The staff was friendly and personable. No glitz and glamour here. But they don’t need any, the food speaks for itself.

Well, I can’t complaint, this place is great!!! I always order the special 3 catfish fillets, with shrimps, and fries. Although I really don’t eat much fries, but you can always substitute it. Of course, can’t help but order fried oysters also, it’s really good. I usually cannot eat all of my food, so I just have to ask for a to go box. Don’t forget to try their desserts also!!!,

I always order the catfish special — 3pc fish, 3pc shrimp and 2 sides for $ 9.99. It’s always hot, fresh, delicious, and ample. They do not skimp! The ONLY complaint I have is about customer service. Let me caveat my next comment by saying that I’ve eaten here probably 3 – 4 times and it truly depends on who is behind the counter. I won’t say that anyone is rude per se, but some of the order takers can just learn better communication or overall customer service skills. For example, a lady before had just paid and was still in the midst of her transaction & the young lady behind the counter begins addressing me by saying«Yes?». Of course I didn’t think she was speaking to me, so I continued to wait my turn. She said«Yes?» again which is when I assumed she was indeed speaking to me. As I placed our 3 orders she never looked up, even when I asked if I could exchange sides and barely when we paid. Ultimately, she seemed to be overwhelmed(the phone kept ringing, customers were paying, etc.), and it took about 10 mins to get a cup of lemonade. This incident does not take away from the food … Make no mistake. But a little work pride is warranted in some, not all, of the young ladies who work there. As I type this, I am witnessing one young lady working the dining room — she’s attentive, cordial, and pleasant. Baysea’s is DEFINITELY worth a try!

I have been here once before. Been trying to get my husband to come ever since! He will only be able to enjoy the awesome veggies now since he’s gone vegetarian and I’m now pescetarian(I still eat seafood). I went because I needed my oyster fix! This place is amazing and as close to Louisiana as I’m gonna get! The staff is super friendly, greet you at the door and make sure u r more than comfortable. The food is amazing. The banana pudding was a last minute decision being they were out of the pecan pie. I’m super happy I made that decision! It is so yummy! Lord forgive me for stuffing myself right now, but its so good! I will repent as soon as I’m done! If u haven’t been to Baysea’s in Converse, ur missing some great food and Southern hospitality!

Great Cajun place. My only complaint is that they don’t always have all menu items, in particular, red beans and rice. They make it all great when they have it. The trout is good too and the hush puppies reminded me of grandma.

Wish I came to this place sooner. So many other restaurants, I’ve never got the chance to eat here. Luv their chicken tenders. I’m still a Chicken Express guy for tenders, but these tenders are seasoned to perfection. Also good catfish. They don’t only sell seafood. They got chicken(like I said), porkchops(might try that next, wings, and more. Great food and service makes this joint another hidden local spot that deserves more recognition.

The food was fresh, I did not have to worry about reheated food. Service was great. The waitress treated my son as if he were paying which in return made him feel special. Bay Seas has a homestyle moms kitchen ambiance which is great! You can walk in wearing some sweatpants and T-shirt and feel like you belong there, on another note you can have a suit and tie and not feel overdressed. We definitely enjoyed ourselves

This place is a hole in the wall restaurant. I was told by my co workers how amazing it was and how I need to try it so in this cold weather I ordered some of their homemade gumbo I’ve taken 2 bites so far and stopped to write a review because I’m blown away by this place this is honestly the best gumbo I’ve had in Texas!

As soon as we walked in all the staff welcomed us and to me I knew it was already a great place. The care, friendly staff, the place is super clean as customers left the table was cleaned and ready for the next customer. The food, well the food was pretty amazing our daughter was so exited that she had the gator tail nuggets for the fist time and Gumbo. My wife and I we had the 3 pieces cat fish, shrimp, hush puppies, onion rings you can also substitute your sides which is pretty cool it was like been close to the sea it was fresh and delicious. I also requested military discount and they thank me for my service. I understand there’s two restaurant we went to the one in Converse so close to our house. We will going back for lunch soon. High five Bayseas!

Where to begin? Let me just say that if your a big eater and you want value for what you pay this place doesn’t dissapoint. I ordered catfish sandwich with gumbo. The portion for the sandwich was three pieces. Only two can fit the other has to sit lonely on the plate. They don’t skimp. I irdered their lemon sweet tea and they put a lot of lemons but they tell u before you order it that the lemon is strong in the drink. Its tart so be mindful of that. The gumbo is spicy but again they let you know whats in store if you order. Its hella spicy but its up my alley. Back to the sandwich. They use plain sandwich bread from the store that when you put it together that bread doesnt hokd up. Thats dissapointing to say the least. Great food for such medicore bread. The bread disintegrate and turns to mush and wet. The décor is quaint and musky but ur there for the food and its the star of the place and the staff is friendly. They make mistakes but its worth it because they keep at it toll they get it right. Its not cheap so if you like spending less than $ 10 a plate go elsewhere. That part puts on my only when its pay day splurge.

Great service and good. We ordered the alligator bites and they came out fast and were great. The shrimp and catfish were fresh and the taste was amazing. Or server was amazing and we were never in need of anything, she saw to that. Will definitely come back here.

Best catfish and gumbo in SA. The small stripmall location is unassuming but the food and service is top notch.

We really enjoyed the food and the environment at Bayseas. Very sweet, and caring staff members. I had orders a couple of things because I was so excited to try it all. Had a small gumbo and it was delicious! Also ordered the shrimp po’ boy and could hardly keep the shrimp on the bun because my son kept stealing them off the plate. They were so good. Reasonably priced for seafood, and had the order out very quickly. We will return!

Delicious fried catfish at a great price! Much Better than going to larger national chains — Been here quite a few times — always good! I highly recommend a visit here!

Loved this place! We came in accidentally one time before because it said Fish Market but it’s actually a restaurant. The food is fresh and prepared right when you order! We had Crawfish, Alligator bites and a variety of fried oysters, catfish and shrimp. All of it was great! It seems like a little hole in the wall but those are sometimes the best! The service was great the waitstaff was attentive and even made my mom a fresh pot of coffee just for her! We will definitely visit again!

Great fried oysters!!! It’s kinda pricey for the area but food is consistent. Shrimp and oyster plate is about $ 16. The fried oysters are listed on the menu as counted pieces but it’s actually by weight.
