Would have gone 4 and a half stars. the portions are HUGE. I often get the egg foo young, and it lasts for three meals. Be sure to ask for the sauce on the side, or they just pour it over the top. It holds up well in the fridge that way! ;)

Well this place is a big let down. A hit er miss on food flavor. And the price is the same if you were to go to any other fast food restaurant. The most basic thing any good Chinese food place should have is good egg drop soup. And this place did not have even that. I know it’s a fast food place in a gas station lady what do you expect. Is what you’re all thinking but with the other good reviews I thought it was worth a try yeah no just best to steer clear. I will give them an extra star for customer service which was great. But that is about it. The egg rolls were amazing though thouse are definitely worth the drive just don’t order anything else. I had the general chicken which was just fried dough balls covered in sauce and chicken lo mein and both were gross. The lo mein is fettuccine pasta thrown around a pan with veggies n then served. No flavor and the«chicken» if it is even chicken was slimey n fatty. It was just super gross. So disappointed with this place I was expecting it to at least be edible. Sorry but don’t waste your time here guys.

I know my score is really low. There is a reason for it. Went here for the first time last week. We ordered dinner. Chick and veggie, broccoli beef, combo lo mein, and chicken wing. The combo meals included soup, 2 spring rolls, 1 egg roll and 2 crab Rangoons. Spring rolls were great. The chicken wings were delishhhhhh. Egg roll was ok. Wonton soup was not bad. Egg drop soup was too thick like jelly. My kids ate up the crab rangoons. My husband enjoyed his chicken and veggie. The broccoli beef was great. Lo mein was a tad bland but that’s what extra soy sauce is for! Ordering is easy. Walk in the gas station and give your order. Took about 15 minutes to receive my order.(I didn’t get any fortune cookies) the portions are pretty large. We had food that lasted us about 2.5 days. For a family of 4. We got 3 meals out of what we ordered. 1 star for food 1 star for service 1 star for overall .not bad I deducted a star because the restrooms were beyond disgusting. The smell linger before you even went in. It was not because some drop a duce before I went it. It was really gross as if the toilet has not been cleaned. The smell was so pungent my son felt ill. It made me think of what the kitchen looked like. They do have great ratings from the reviewers. I won’t doubt their food. I always grade my overall experience. The bathroom killed it for me.

Went here for lunch and got the beef and mushrooms. The first bite was ok. I went for a second fork full and found a long black hair in my food… I will not be going back there to eat.

Been wanting to go here for about a year just to experience what the other Unilocalers that I know experienced. Food was about a 3, on par with Kowloon in Schertz or Panda Express. The owners are very nice; Mrs sells the lottery tickets, Mr handles the wok. My food was ready in about 90 seconds for $ 5.85. They have about 40 different dishes with lunch or dinner portions; you choose. Eats: — general’s chicken lunch portion with eggroll and fried rice — rice a little over done and held in warmer; chicken was fresh, wok fried(I heard it), and was crispy but could get soggy real quick. — egg roll was crispy but bland and a little dry(may have been kept in a warmer). Would I come back? Absolutely! It is what it is. This food is fast, you will get full, and the owners are friendly. If I want good six dollar Chinese food, I’ll go to Dragon Place in Seguin. When I want a lot of quick, tasty food, I’ll sit in my car in Converse and eat at Texaco Chinese to Go. Ask them to go light on the heavy sauces.

For a take-out restaurant in a gas station convenience store, the food is amazing. The sights inside the store may not be appetizing, given that it IS in a gas station convenience store, but somehow, the quality of the food that is cooked here is secluded from the quality of a store that also sells beer and lottery tickets. So, if you have a craving for some quickly-prepared Chinese food, this is definitely a good choice. My party ended up ordering the lunch versions of the broccoli & beef and the pepper steak, as well as two orders of hot and sour soup. The taste of the food reminded me of some of the higher-quality Asian cuisine I had when I had previously lived in an area where Asian restaurants were about one-every-other-block. The beef was tender and not chewy or tough, the vegetables were the right amount of crunchy or soft(depending on the vegetable), and the hot and sour soup was filling and quite tasty. Note about the hot and sour soup, since it is prepared differently in almost every Chinese restaurant: The soup had the thickness of traditional egg drop soup and contains bamboo strings, pork, tofu, and hot pepper seeds. Also, the customer is given the choice of lunch or dinner portions of the meals, both versions are served all day long. The lunch version includes the choice of steamed or fried rice and an egg roll or a crab rangoon; the dinner includes fried or steamed rice, choice of soup(egg drop, hot & sour, or won ton), an egg roll, and a crab rangoon. The difference in price for a lunch meal versus a dinner meal is about $ 4-$ 5 a meal. Also, they do call-in orders. I’ve eaten here, and I can honestly say that this might be the best«quick-Chinese» food option in all of Converse. So yes, I can see myself ordering from here again.

Was good… The restroom to wash up about made me throw up and no soap. Hey… Thats a factor for me. Otherwise the food wasn’t bad… The larger city china towns have spoiled me for great chinese. The price will bring me back… I have only had one other chinese food experience here and this place does take the cake between the two. As mentioned in the tip… The amount of food you get for price along with flavor n quality is a pretty darn good deal.

This place is not worth it!!! I called to kindly explain that the food tasted weird and it was served cold and all I got was, «sorry about that, anything else? Ok have a better day!» The egg drop soup was so thick I, any more eggs added and you would cough up feathers!!! The fried rice was a joke and looked like gerbil food! The meat was very chewy — this would be good if I didn’t have teeth!!! This place is a joke! But what do you expect when you order from a gas station!!!

Some of the best fast food Chinese in San Antonio and with the added bonus of a convenience store you can accompany it with just about any other kind of junk food.

Best unknown«hood» or Americanized Chinese food in SA… Yes, they’re Viet and its in a Service Station, but it reminds me of the bodegas/corner stores back home! Friday night one-stop shop on the NE.

Not just a place for beer runs and gas, this little chinese kitchen situated within a Texaco station is a wonderful surprise. They’ve ben serving freshChinese good for the better part of give years and I was convinced it was gross, frozen food. Not the case. Everything is fresh and made to order and the portions are huge. Lunch will run you about $ 5; dinner $ 10 and the potions double with the price. Be prepared to wait.
