The food and drinks were great. The place is small and will not accommodate medium to large groups. Bartender was awesome and friendly. I definitely recommend this place.

Good food for such a tiny place! We were very happy with our turkey club and grilled cheese with ham. Nice big onion rings and crispy curly fries for sides completed the meal. Waitress was very attentive. It’s obvious they care about their service and their food.

A tiny local version of a Waffle Shop. Nothing more, nothing less. Small town ambience in a shoe box.

I loved this place even before the food came out. This place is the definition of old school and timeless. It’s a true diner and the place that the locals go to so you know it’s good. The milkshake is a must have, trust me. We got the peanut butter milkshake and I got flashbacks of my childhood when I took my first sip. And the jumbo burger lives up to its name. A giant 15 oz burger with no frills but cooked to perfection. The server was super friendly and didn’t bat an eye when my crazy wife asked for vegetables. A large side of broccoli was quickly provided for free. Great experience. Would definitely come back!

A tiny place with an abundance of excellent, flavorful foods and service. Unlimited coffee, large portions, excellent prices. There’s a good chance you have to wait a bit for a table, but trust me, it will be worth the wait. I ordered the sausage gravy biscuits along with two eggs and home fries. The biscuits were warm and soft, it melted in my mouth YUMMMM! I would order it again tomorrow if I could. I would definitely come back to Cooperstown, not for the baseball hall of fame, nor for their breweries or shops, but for this diner right here! Please check it out when you’re in town! It’s a must!

Small, but don’t be intimated by the small size. hang around for a table because the food comes quick and the food is good that it is easily inhaled. The bathroom can be found through the provincial kitchen. My friend loved her biscuits and sausage gravy. It’s a must! I enjoyed my mushroom & cheddar omelet that was made fresh with real eggs! Efficient and good service. A good spot to grab simple but good food before heading to the museum.

This place was a quintessential greasy spoon with absolutely delicious breakfast. Two eggs over easy were cooked to perfection and the homemade corned beef hash was to die for.

We got a chance to enjoy breakfast here on a December day on Christmas Eve. Luckily it wasn’t busy and we scored some sweet seats at the bar. I loved it. It is a great small town vibe and there was one person serving the whole place(which is all they need really.) She was so great. She made us feel like home and there were a few regulars in the diner talking story to us. By far the best eggs I tried and I loved the corned beef hash. We also had the french toast which was amazing. We probably won’t ever come back to Cooperstown but I am so glad we got to eat here. A MUST when you visit!

You would miss it if you blinked while you were driving by, but don’t let it’s size fool you, this place is a big hit! Chicken and biscuits were delicious, and you can never go wrong with a grilled cheese sandwich. The service is always friendly, and when the regulars walk in, they’re greeted by the servers with a sunny smile and a «the usual?» The place seats about 26 people. Food always comes out quickly enough to come on a lunch break. I’m definitely a fan! Love the family feel.

This was s cozy, little place for lunch. It came recommended so we tried it out. This place is small so really no more than a party of four. Staff was friendly and the food was good. I had a grilled cheese with bacon and it was cooked perfectly. The curly fries were also cooked perfectly and my broccoli was nice and hot. THEJUMBOBURGERSAREJUMBO! My husband ordered a Jr. Burger and it was delicious. My only complaint is because it was such a small establishment you can literally hear all the conversations going on but that can be fun ;)

Come with an appetite, if you decide to order their burgers! Place has been here(maybe forever???) a long time and is on the very small-ish side, only a few table and a countertop to sit at(like an old-school diner). We ordered… what else… burgers! My buddy Greg ordered the jumbo cheeseburger and fries, I had their junior bacon cheeseburger and tater tots. Both burgers were friggin’ huge but full of flavor and juices. The fries were decent, but the tots rocked! Perfectly crispy, and I like to eat them with a ketchup and mustard combo /swirl. This place is definitely worth the effort to get seated and have a meal… also heard they serve a killer breakfast. Maybe next time!

Wonderful spot straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting that’s been around for decades. On Induction Weekend Friday AM, it was packed with dads and kids, families galore. Our wait was only a minute or two as we assented to sitting at the counter. Breakfast is simple, hot, and fast. I got some hash and couldn’t be happier. Cup of joe as well. Really, I don’t know what could have possibly made this experience any better. Maybe if Derek Jeter sat next to me and asked to borrow some milk.

This place was small but the burgers are not. I had the cheeseburger platter and the burger was huge!!! I mean we’re talking two inches from top to bottom! Great value for only around $ 9. A burger that big was also juicy which is surprising(and I even get mine well done). The service was weak. Honestly though I can’t blame her. Although the place is small she was the only waitress and had 4 tables and a counter. I’d definitely go back.

Whether you live in Cooperstown, of if you happen to be in there, to cheer a baseball tournament, or to enjoy Lake Otsego, don’t miss this cute dinner. Very clean, and very small diner, with good hearty-food, and a great homey vibe. — «EGGCELLENT» breakfast, served all day! — Always crowded: only few tables(less than 30 seats.) — Friendly service. — Accept credit cards. Three and had Unilocal

Here’s what’s up — Cooperstown Diner is worth the wait. Stand outside for 30min so you can dine in this 25 seat max. diner. It’s classic diner grub — pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs and toast, and oh so good. They have some cool specials that are worth drooling over — like the cinnamon bun-like pancakes/French toast. I was eyeing that from a distance. I went for the biscuits & gravy, which was aggressively large and worth the $ 10. It came with home fries, which were a mix between crispy brown and soft, cooked through potato chunks. I prefer the crispy brown bites. The gravy was creamy and peppery; the biscuits flaky and dense. We went on a day that followed a concert at Ommegang so it was abnormally busy. There was a wait 10 people deep for hours outside that place. Just hop in line and wait your turn, no list. Bless the two servers who managed to serve food up in a reasonable amount of time, stay calm, cool, and collected, and still refill my coffee and water without a request. They were on their A-game. Tired? Likely. But they owned it.

It is worth trying to get into this place. Yes, it is tiny as other reviewers have mentioned. You may have to wait or eat early or later in the day, but you shouldn’t miss their super large/cheesy burger. We were able to get a seat at the counter fairly quickly. The breakfast menu looked tempting, and I think they offered breakfast all day, along with a couple daily specials. This is a place I could see coming to several times if I were in town a few more days. The burgers are huge as you can see from the pictures. I wimped out and went for the junior burger which is still quite hefty and tasty, but my Dad had the full sized monster burger. They are basically the same thing, but half as thick. They have a choice of curly fries or regular, and I enjoyed the curly as a treat since I rarely have fries, and they were quite good.

I second Phil H’s «HOLYCRAP, LOOKATTHESIZEOFTHATBURGER» assessment of the jumbo burger they serve up here! Bring two mouths, seriously. The Cooperstown Diner is a cozy, hole in the wall, greasy spoon, [insert other diner cliché] kinda place, that looks largely unchanged from when the class of 1960 was inducted into the Hall of Fame across the street. If you’re looking for a straight-up HUGE burger for under $ 7, this is your place. Platters run you about $ 4 more and come with lettuce, tomato, and choice of side. If you’re not the lettuce and tomato type, get the burger a-la-carte and pony up $ 2-$ 2.50 and add on your side that way. My turkey club was a force to be reckoned with though, piled mile-high between three layers of sourdough bread and with CRISPY bacon(thanks for listening to my request — so many places screw that up!), lettuce, tomato, and mayo. As for the sides, I also agree with Phil’s take on the curly fries. I was expecting seasoned fries, but instead they were just plain ol’ fries, just bent. They were crispy and tasty, but I guess I was expecting something different. All in all though, a good(albeit BRIGHT) place to grab a bite in town… A+ for the service too!

I’m a diner kind of guy and to me there is nothing wrong with an occasional trek into one to have some filling sloppy comfort food. Of course when we were in Cooperstown recently and walked by this tiny looking beat up diner I was enticed to venture in by the chalkboard proclaiming their famous burgers. OK, I will admit the place is a bit grimy looking and could use a coat of paint but it’s also charming in it’s own way. A bit narrow and tight with some tables and counter seating so it can be a bit of a wait when crowded as it was when we walked in. We both ordered the burger with curly fries and tater tots. Good God Man! What the heck is that thing? It looked like a meatloaf between two buns! This beast was a massive hunk of meat that actually scared me a bit. With nervous laughter we dug in and were surprised at how juicy and tasty the burger was. Curly fries were decent but I wish I had ordered the tater tots. Always order the tots. We rolled out of there and had to take a walk to digest a bit after that meat attack. Plus, I had to drive back to Manhattan and needed to wake myself from the coma before I passed out and swerved off the road. As for the service I thought it was fine. Prices were in line with what is expected in a tourist area but were not horrible. I don’t know about what other reviewers here were complaining about when it comes to service, price, and portion sizes as our experience was pretty damn good. It’s a little down and dirty diner not the Four Seasons! I would definitely go back for that meatloaf sized burger! Meat coma surprise!
