It smells great before you even walk in the door. Staff greeting you and smiling when you walk in. The food is fresh to order with a huge selection of sides. The brisket was outstanding. Juicy with just the right amount of smokiness and fat. The pasta salad was creamy with just the right amount of tang and the coleslaw was spot on. The owner Stacy is onsite and out there visiting with customers; makes you feel welcome. Clean and lots of large tv’s to watch news and sports. And, a free ice cream cone on the way out. I’ll be back.

I ordered the #4 Westerner with 2 sides, no cheese just pull pork and chopped brisket, coleslaw and fried okra Saturday night. I arrive home to enjoy my dinner, opened my sandwich it was sliced sausage and turkey with cheese, the okra was fried to fast, some of he pieces were still cold in the middle. Called the restaurant, the young lady that answered stated they were now closed and the food had been put away, she took my name so I my stop by for a meal replacement. Round 2. I returned yesterday Tuesday September 22, 2015 re-ordered the #4 Westerner with 2 sides, I asked for the pull pork and chopped brisket no cheese, coleslaw and waffle fries. Drive home open by sandwich it was all dry chopped brisket, no pull pork, the fries were over cooked some were actually burnt…2 strikes you are out! I do not know if all Dickey’s locations are like this one, but I will never know, the Coppell location has ruined it for all locations for me!

With this Dallas storm shutting down pretty much everything, our contracted caterer couldn’t deliver our lunch this afternoon. Dickey’s without hesitation offered to deliver and have food to us(35min) as quickly as possible! They’re getting an excellent tip. –RDS

One of the better Dickey’s stores. I go to this one often for lunch as it has a drive through. The food is preparred well, but just does not have the flavor of the original one at 75 and Henderon. The staff does a great job with making sure I have all I need.

I always want to like Dickey’s but it just doesn’t do it for me. The only reason I came was because I had a free coupon for a double meat place. Thank you Coppell Baseball Association. It just did not feel clean in there.

I have eaten in several Dickey’s over the years and this one is by far the best. The food is tasty, great prices, and plenty of food. When you see the same workers year after year, that is normally a good sign. They are friendly. I usually eat there once a week and, most of the time, eat heathly.

Bang for the buck… I loved the Monday special — which for under $ 12 got me a solid lunch of Sausage, Ribs and Brisket with two sides and a hot biscuit, drink and a free soft serve ice cream. I found the meats full of flavor(loved their hot sauce!) and the casual atmosphere was great for lunch with friends. Will definitely swing by again when in Coppell, Tx!

I bought a Thanksgiving Dinner from Dickey’s and it was perfect and plentiful. Will definitely do this again! Sandra

For a California kid, this was exactly what I wanted in Barbecue; spicy, tender and so smokey! I was here at the tail end of a trip, and it was a sad occasion. Still, I’ll be objective: The brisket and pulled pork that I had were both great, though I could have done with just one or the other. Portions are definitely Texas sized, and with the sides and bread I didn’t need any more. Their fried okra bits were so good I kept stealing them from my girlfriend’s plate. Friendly staff who knew just to leave us alone, which might just have been the norm.

The fact that this gay Southern California guy is saying he likes this barbecue joint may have some of you Texans scoffing and wondering what the hell I would know about good Texas barbecue. Well, I don’t know much about Texas barbecue. That’s a fact. But as a first venture into the sweet and saucy world of barbecue, I’m glad I stumbled upon Dickey’s. I had a 2-meat plate, choosing brisket and ribs. Juicy, saucy, tasty. What more could one ask for? And the spicy bbq sauce at the condiment counter was definitely a fav or mine. Super friendly staff. I walked in at 1-minute to closing but they welcomed me to stay as long as I needed to eat my meal. Was starved after a day of traveling and was glad to be greeted warmly. Maybe good barbecue knows no bounds?

My wife and I wanted a local place to relax and have some MEAT. Dickey’s employees were polite not overly friendly. The meat was good for both of us. They used to offer multiple rolls but don’t seem to anymore. The fries were cold. The fried okra was warm. We will eat there again.

Not all Dickey’s are created equal. This is one of the better ones. My review is a little biased because I grew up with Dickey’s. My family used to enjoy going to the original shop on 75 way back when they used to have a block of cheese at the condiment bar. This store’s food is very good if Dickey’s is your kind of BBQ. The pork and beef are my favorites as are the ribs though I’ve had some hit or miss experiences with them over the years. I like the sausage also. The sauce is spicy(though you can choose the mild version) which is how I like it. The condiment bar is fresh and clean, and I think all BBQ places should have free soft serve ice cream as Dickey’s does. This store is clean. While not especially friendly, the staff is professional and helpful. This store has a drive-thru which may be bad news for my health. Double-threat: the Dairy Queen next door.

We received a BOGO coupon when we moved to Coppell. We waited a few months to use it but tonight we decided to. I’ve been to Dickey’s BBQ in Fort Worth before but that was about 3 years ago. I can’t recall how it was then though. I got the sliced beef and my wife got the pulled pork plate. The sides are choose your own and as much as you can get on the plate(I guess…). I got mashed potatoes and fried okra. I’m not going to lie… I took a heaping plate full of both. The beef was really wet and mooshy and not good at all. The sauce was pretty good. The fried okra was awesome and the potatoes were pretty good too. The roll was probably the best part of the meal. Overall it wasn’t that good and I doubt I’ll be going back unless I get another BOGO coupon. Price was $ 8.79 for sliced beef, 2 sides, roll, and a glass of water.

We kinda knew Dickey’s was not going to be great since they were EMPTY on a Friday night at 7! We actually passed them by without any intention of stopping, but it turned out our destination, Anamia’s( ) had a long long wait and we only had about an hour before we had to get back to work(yeah, back to work at 8PM on a Friday night!). I really wish we had waited at Anamia’s and shrugged off work because the food at Dickey’s was awful and now we feel like shit. I don’t know how William B. managed to have a good experience, but I’m glad it was good for you! Dickey’s is a BBQ buffet comprised of meat so old it is has become rigid and glazed — kinda like a corpse with rigor mortis. The sides are soggy at best, and unrecognizable/putrid at worst. Pretty much everything here fits into the«worst» category. Oh yeah, their bathroom was also grimy, littered with tissue, and unsanitary — I’m so glad thats where the people who made all that food wash their hands. I’m usually not this harsh in a review, but my attitude right now is: Fuck you Dickey’s!

I don’t get it. This is Texas. Texas is known for its barbeque, right? Do we really need a chain churning out over-priced, bland bbq for the masses? I mean, wouldn’t this work much better in, say, Minnesota?
