Excellent food and service. Best BBQ I have had in a very long time. While in Dallas, in two days, ate there four times and brought some brisket home for my grandchildren!!!

My French fries were hot and my food was warm. Not exactly what you want in a meal! This place is okay but, I have to be honest it is not the Texas BBQ that I was expecting or that I was use to. This is not the pit BBQ style of cooking but, more like the ribs out of an oven. Nice atmosphere and nice bar area but, the food is just okay.

I went to Baker’s Ribs with my parents and a craving for fried pie and ice cream. I had never been there before, and was hopeful when I first entered, welcomed by the delicious smell of barbecue. We ordered a few fried pies, frozen custard, and a shake, which all came to us rather quickly. The shake was fine, the custard was pretty great, but the fried pies were room temperature and not crunchy at all. This may be our fault, but me and my folks expected something hot and crunchy like the pies at Carl’s Jr., but we didn’t get that. The worst of it was when, near the end of the meal, a cockroach crawled onto my mother’s leg. It was at least an inch long, and long story short, we’re not going back there again. If you want desserts, I urge you to find another establishment

Love this place. It is always a must stop when we are in the Dallas area. They have a new jalapeño cheese sausage which is very tasty. The ribs and sauce are perfect. The brisket is okay. Highly recommend if you are into pork ribs.

I’m in Dallas on business. GMIT insisted that I needed to eat good food while I’m here. After several days and cold meals, I still hadn’t accomplished her wish. By the time I was ready to venture out for bbq, it was late and most of the bbq joints were closing or closed. This one was open, so I hopped on a highway, and onto another highway(if you know Texas, you know that they put highways next to highways next to highways and you’d better know which fork to use) and got to Baker’s. It was a laid back place, with high ceilings and a walk-up window, checkered tablecloths on tables and booths. I ordered the rib basket: 4 bones, fries, Texas toast. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender. The sauce was a beautiful blend of tangy and sweet, and perfectly complemented the meat. The fries were seasoned with seasoned salt and were delicious on their own or dipped in the sauce. The basket was reasonably priced and I would buy it again. I also got a chocolate pie. Pretty good. Filling was chocolaty and not too sweet. Service was friendly and quick, food was fresh and hot. A definite winner, off the beaten path. And open late too!

Used to enjoy this place but things are going down hill pretty quickly here. Picked up a carry out order and got home to find it had exactly 11 pieces of fried okra and half a container of Cole slaw. There was no BBQ sauce included which is unusual for take out BBQ. If not we should be told to pick it upIn addition we had to wait in line only to be told that the take out orders must be picked up at the bar. Woman at the bar said she told that to whoever placed the order. This was not true. Long wait to give orders as they only have one person at the counter. Bad service all around.

Very underrated bbq place. Ribs and sliced beef are constant in good quality. Cooked to perfection most of the time. If any, only in Memphis have I had better ribs. Best potato salad around and their pasta salad is very good aswell. Their fried pies are decent too.

Tonight was my first visit, so didn’t know what to expect. Walk up window to order food, different but ok. We ordered 3 rib baskets and one slice brisket sandwich. Plenty of food, ribs are on a basket full of home fries and Texas toast. Sandwich was stacked high with brisket. Meat was smoked well with good hickory flavor, good seasoning rub. The BBQ sauce is served warm, be careful it comes out fast, great flavor! My only negative was noise, the bar area is separate from dining area, but there are no windows, just big opening. There was a big game going on, so the noise level from people yelling and talking loud was at a high level! I would go back, just not on game(playoff) night.

Went through drive thru on a Sunday evening. I had the potato w chopped meat and fries and a chocolate fried pie. The brisket was dry, the potato was bland however the fried pie was good, not great but good. Will not be going back, also drive thru guy lacked customer service skills.

I brought a large group of guys over from the Embassy Suites next door(it’s an easy walk there, but don’t eat too much because it’s not as easy on the way back). I wanted to show my international coworkers what«BBQ» means in Texas. Counter-service is not a typical thing outside the US(aside from fast food). You walk in, stand-in-line to order your food at the register — in our case, it was staffed by a sweet young girl -«Grace D» is what the receipt says — who guided each person through the menu. My recommendation for the group was to try a 2 or 3 meat plate, which comes with two sides. I tried the sausage and brisket — both were delicious and exactly what my doctor doesn’t want me eating! My sides were the green beans and the Texas Pinto Beans, which included a bit of spice from jalapenos mixed in. They offer a full bar, which you can pay for when you order and then pick it up over at the bar. Again, a «foreign» concept to my non-US friends. Robert, the manager on duty that night, took care of us. He walked around and many sure everyone liked their food. I would not hesitate to bring another group back or even visit with my family.

Pretty good food, went to Texas hoping for the best and didn’t find the best BBQ in town… The meats were good but stay away from the Mac & cheese, it was overly cooked & the pasta melted in your mouth. Beans were good, I would go back.

The fried okra alone gets this place five stars, it had a hint of salty and sweet, delicious! Also had the turkey, great flavor with a peppered outside.

So today was my first time here. Was driving by and was intrigued by the«bakers ribs and original fried pies». So decided to stop for a late lunch. The atmosphere is very casual and the dining area was clean. When you first approach the counter to order there is a case filled with all kinds of fired pies. Both Sweet and savory. Since it was my first time I decided to try the 3 meat plate. I ordered ribs, brisket and sausage(they have mild and jalapeño). I took the mild. This came with some awesome Texas toast and I added baked beans and green beans. The baked beans were excellent not too sweet and with a nice smokey flavor. The green beans were a bit bland. Now as far as the meats go, the sausage was the weakest link! Pretty fair as compared to the average Texas smoked sausage. The brisket and pork ribs were outstanding! The brisket was so moist and tender and had the appropriate pink smoke ring, one of the best I have actually ever had. The ribs were thick and tender done to perfection with nice smoked flavor. They give you a squirt bottle of warm bbq sauce which was good but not award winning. To be honest the meats were good enough on their own. A couple of things worth noting is that their soda from their fountain is made with real cane sugar and not with the typical corn syrup used in most commercial sodas. The flavor was sweet yet light, given this experience Take notice soda companies and ban that high fructose corn syrup. Of particular interest to me was their condiment bar which consisted of raw onions, jalapeños and various pickles. I have to say that the clean strong onions made a great paring with the meat, going to have to serve that at home more often! Of course being the home of the original fried pie I had to try one. My server suggested a strawberry and cream cheese pie. Which I have to say was as good as it sounds! The pies are huge double the size of those hostess pies and came out warm and gooey. The only thing that keeps me from giving them 5 stars were the bland green beans and the fact that they forgot to bring my pie out to my table as instructed. I had to go back up to the counter to remind them… But it was worth the wait. I am definitely coming back here on my next Dallas trip if for nothing else but to try their«brisket fried pie». I can only imagine how amazing it will be!

Stopped by on my way for a run. Really came here for a salad but they didn’t have any on the menu. Looked for the next healthy thing and orders tacos. They were recommended to me by the bartender in front, she was super sweet and helpful! Once they came I asked for a side of hot sauce, they only had habanero. This is the best hot sauce I’ve had in a really long time. It was warm, super spicy with a bbq taste! I literally orders more food just for the hot sauce! Yum! I’m not from around so will look online to see if they package any of this hot sauce! It isn’t fine dining but they have pretty good food. Defiantly not a place to go if you’re trying to eat healthy or light but worth ever bite!

Just Average. I was hoping, being in the name, that the Ribs would really be something special — but they just weren’t. Not a bad value, but the Brisket, Ribs, and Turkey were all just average. Not bad, but nothing to rave about either. I’m not a sauce person, but I found myself putting sauce on all of the meat to add some moisture. Others in my group got the Sausage and said it tasted no different from store bought. I felt the same way about each of the sides. The bright spot, I felt, was the Savory Fried Pies. We all shared a Pulled Pork and a Brisket Fried Pie. If you’re looking for a place to have some beer, and a small bite to eat, one of those Fried Pies would be a pretty good choice. Other than those, there’s just better options nearby for Barbecue.

I would die if I moved to Texas due to this place alone. It’s just across the parking lot from the Embassy Suites at which I was staying. I had a car and the option to go to dinner anywhere in the metroplex. After taking the easy route by walking a few steps over to the place one night, I had no urge to go elsewhere the other night. The pulled pork was tender and flavorful, not greasy nor overdone. The brisket was so excellently smoky with perfect bite and very little extra fat. The ribs were, well, I don’t like ribs and I liked their ribs. The baked potato was large. The skin was cooked well with a nice amount of salt and pepper coating it. It’s served with butter, sour cream, and cheddar shreds. The cole slaw and mac & cheese were stellar. Even though it didn’t need it, I added some barbecue sauce to the mac & cheese for an even more delicious bite. The barbecue sauce was somewhat thin so it coated what I dipped into it well without overpowering it. Not too spicy, not too smoky, not too sweet. I should have brought some home with me. The pecan fried pie was unbelievably good. I can’t tell if I would have died of a heart attack or diabetes after a few dozen of those. It might have been worth it to find out. So. Good. How much was it? I don’t remember. It probably could have been cheaper. I didn’t care since it tasted so good. My only complaint is that a large drive though order had me waiting for my order for over 20 minutes. They kept apologizing but they should have had fewer people apologizing and more people making the orders. So, yeah, there’s a drive though in case you want to circle back for more…

Not the best BBQ in town, but good enough to satisfy the craving. Location is close to work and the grapevine mills mall. Prices are reasonable and staff is always friendly. Their green beans are fantastic! Lunch time gets very busy so go before noon or after 1pm if you prefer a quite lunch.

I’m very picky about BBQ. You just can’t put meat on a grill, throw some sauce on it, and call it good. That’s kind of what I felt at this place. It’s got a good atmosphere and friendly enough staff. The service is like that of a fast food joint. Place your order and then go get it when they call it out. I thought their sausage was just too fatty… meaning it made it very rich to me. My ribs were just meh. Nothing special and just ok. Kind of disappointed in that because for their namesake, I thought they’d have outstanding ribs. Nope. We didn’t finish our meals because… well…I’d rather had something else to eat. Not very appetizing. I’m not sure I’d try it again, but you never know. Maybe it was just an off day or something because there seems to be a lot who like this place.

We were on our way to Sun and Ski to stock up on cold weather goodies on Saturday and figured we’d grab a quick lunch at Bakers Ribs before heading into the frenzy at the mall. We walked in and took a look at the menu — I opted for the pulled pork taco plate($ 7.50), my husband got their sausage sandwich($ 6ish), and my son got a spicy taco minus the pico de gallo and salsa. Everything was neat and clean. They have plenty of screens around the bar and dining room to watch whatever game is on. Our food arrived and I dug in. I was really impressed with my plate. my tacos arrived on a corn torillla with melted cheese topped by the pulled pork, pico, and a thin taco sauce drizzled on top. After just one bite I realized that they were just as tasty as they appeared with a nice kick. That taco sauce is not to be taken lightly. it has a nice spice to it. my mouth was burning by the time i finished my meal. If you’re not big on spicy stuff id recommend getting the pico and salsa on the side and adding it yourself. The pico de gallo helped add some freshness and balance out the heaviness of the pork. I usually wouldnt go for the tacos at a BBQ place but i wasnt wanting anything heavy and was glad i decided on this plate. My husband throughly enjoyed his sandwich. the sliced two links in half and stacked them on top of each other. We wouldnt consider it top notch bbq but its solid and satisfying Its nice to have another option near the mall besides fast food. It’ll definitely be an option if we’re in the area.
