The restaurant was completely empty when we came around 5:15 on a weekday. The service was mediocre at best and I can see where some of he reviews may be coming from. If it was more crowded I could easily see us receiving even slower service. With that said, the ramen bowls are actually delicious with a rich and slightly spicy broth. They put a ton of pork in the soup, way more than I typically get at ramen joints. The sushi roll I got was just ok, it was called the Liberty roll I think. Wasn’t bad, but nothing great. If you come here, get the ramen. You won’t be disappointed.

I don’t care what others say about this place — as an Asian, I approve. In regards to all those complaining about service, there is a sign at the front that says ‘please seat yourselves’. We got plenty of attention from our waiter too. The sushi did take a while to get to the table, but it looked like the usual chef was training someone else. We both ordered the Pork Ramen($ 13), which had copious amounts of succulent, shredded pork. My meat-lover boyfriend was not sure if he would finish all the pork he was given. The dish worked really well with the Daikon. Highly recommend, 10/10, especially on a cold day. Our Liberty roll was also pretty solid. It costs about as much as the rolls you get from Krogers, and the quality is just a few notches above that. Overall, granted we went with low expectations after reading the reviews, we were pleasantly surprised! We do plan on returning for happy hour, which starts at 9pm.

Great Sushi and some of the best Miso Soup I’ve ever had. Loved the spicy Tuna roll but watch out as it lives up to its name… SPICY!!! Looks like they have live music and/or Karaōke later in the evenings. We will come back to check it out.

… Eat anywhere else. Terrible service & the food was so bad… Usually seat yourself isn’t a problem for me but they did not acknowledge customers in the correct order at all. Please don’t consider this Asian food … It’s not edible.

The service here is terrible. We got zero acknowledgement when we sat down, even after we made several eye contact with the servers. The food was mediocre.

If you’re looking for something authentic or at least eatable, this place is definitely the last option you would like to take. Let’s get to the food first. Although I’m not Japanese, considering my one-year living experience in Japan with my Japanese family and my at least ten-year-experience at many Japanese restaurants throughout the world, you can take my comments into consideration seriously when hesitating if to eat here. I hate to be mean but their food is HORRIBLE, besides the high prices, which is understandable given its location in a ski resort in the mountain. We ordered several rolls, one pork and one veggie ramen, and a teriyaki chicken served with rice(I’ll talk about it later). Their rolls were as not impressive as those you could find at a grocery store and they basically tasted exactly the SAME. But their ramen was actually impressively awful. I just want to ask, how dare you call a bowl of over-cooked soft Chinese think noodles topped with raw tofu and bean sprouts a RAMRN?! Even an instant ramen tastes way much better than this! It literally drove me crazy when I put the noodles into my mouth. The teriyaki chicken was not so bad. The chicken was apparently over cooked and too dry. The rice, for god’s sake, was blowing my mind because it was not white rice; instead it was heated sushi rice mixed with vinegar! No one eats like this ever! How could you open a Japanese restaurant without decent white rice?! Ok finally we reach the service part. If you could have made up for in your good service, I would not have so much to complain like this. But honestly, our waiter really needs to improve himself as a waiter. Although he did have some sense of humor, it didn’t help at all because of his low service. We waited for about 10 minutes to be served and then another 10 for just an cold appetizer and another 8 for our chopsticks, plates and napkins. During the time we had no choice but to stare at the only appetizer on the table, and no one noticed us. My final notes: don’t eat here if you don’t want to waste your money. Try somewhere else if you don’t REALLY want sushi at the moment.

We ate here on 7.19.15. While our party was large, we only ordered 7 roll’s. It took 1hr 30min to receive our food! The restaurant when we arrived was almost empty, so you’d assume we’d get quick service. Considering other reviews, you’d think they’re aware of their slow service and would have wanted to speed up our order, not the case. When we left, the restaurant was pretty full and most tables looked unhappy. The food was OK. I’ve had better and worse Sushi. I’d not eat here again.

I’m surprised that this place has so many bad reviews. I guess it got remodeled 18 months ago. Well, I guess they have a new chef because the food was great and the service was good as well.

Horrible service, it’s unfortunate they are the only Japanese in copper village. Head to Frisco or Dillon for better cuts and better fish.

Average sushi– which you may expect in Colorado. The sever was friendly, but had several limitations for our group. The store cannot split checks, and half of our table received their food way before the other half. I feel the restaurant should be more customer focussed and more accommodating.

Ordered 10 sushi rolls of all different types, all were disappointing. Rolls you would normally expect to contain solid bits of salmon or tuna or yellowtail were actually chopped and processed. Excessive amounts of rice and poorly made fillers. Will not be going back.

Good Sushi & Service. I recommend Sashimi — very fresh, Hot Sake, and Tuna Poke — excellent. The only drawback is the limited selection. However — you will not be disappointed.

Worst service ever. 2 of us, 12 other patrons, 6 employees. Took 45 – 55 minutes to get 2 rolls and 12 pieces of nigiri. I ordered 2 rolls, 4 pieces of nigiri and 8 pieces of sashimi. Cuts of tuna weren’t the best looking. Definitely not worth the price. Nothing good to say. Don’t come here.

Horrible service. Didn’t get a waiter for 15 minutes so we eventually left. They had 5 tables going total, so they didn’t appear busy. Not heading back here in the future — it’s too bad, this place was good a few years back.

This place is NOT where you want to go for sushi! as you can read with all the other reviews. It was almost identical to the trash you can purchase, pre-made at a grocery store. The rice wasn’t cooked properly and it was smashed into form during the rolling process. There needs to be a gentleness when preparing sushi rice and the unqualified chef was clearly the problem this place is having with their reviews. They have almost no selection of rolls to choose from which put a damper on my meal. You’re stuck with the usual California and Spicy Tuna rolls plus whatever other BS mixtures they think will taste good. Usually I jump at the opportunity when All You Can Eat is an option but this time I was so hesitant because you can only pick between 3 different rolls… Pissed. I know options are pretty limited on the mountain but not so limited as to be forced to come here. You might want to choose another option even if you have the craving for some sushi. This will leave you sorely disappointed.

Ordered two sushi rolls. Waited an Hour and a half before receiving food. The two tables next to us got their like 6 – 8 rolls and finished eating before we got. our sushi. Waitress apologized but it didn’t help our groaning stomachs.

I can say three things that we experienced at Storm King 1. Rot Gut Sushi… even the rolls were bad. 2. Rude waitstaff, poor service 3. A bill with a 20% tip added for table of four and about $ 75 in charges for food we did not order and they would not remove from bill. Refused to pay. l

I don’t know what I expected from a sushi joint on a mountain, but I love my sushi, and this was a disappointment. I know this is a lounge, but I came here on Christmas Day with my family so I can’t vouch for the drinks or entertainment. The food was fine, nothing spectacular but no one got sick and everyone made a dent in their(pretty small) plate. I’m taking away a star for the service though. I guess they were bringing out the food as it was made, but that meant that we basically watched each other eat one at a time, and my poor father had to wait almost two hours before he got his main course. It was an exciting idea, but I won’t be coming back.

Yes, probably shouldn’t hold high expectations for good sushi in the mountains. just don’t come here if you’re craving sushi. This bar-ish /lounge-ish sushi restaurant was conveniently located across from our lodge. The exterior and décor looked promising as we walked in and ordered a few sakes and martinis. The highlight of the night –as I mentioned, not the food. but the extremely relaxed accommodating staff who allowed us(loud, obnoxious table) to do sake bomb after sake bomb. even after a few stemware casualties. They were also offering karaōke that night(which we unfortunately didn’t stay for). One star for décor, one star for nice staff. Come here if you’re sick of mountain resort cuisine — beer, wings, nachos, pizza, and anything fried.
