The servers were pretty cold and hard to find when you needed one. The glass of wine I ordered had tons of cork floating in it. The filet mignon was tender and cooked properly however the risotto it came with was full of cream and lacked any depth of flavor. They have a large parking lot but it’s valet only. No self park? Overall overpriced and not worth it.

Always good food and always a good time. One of the owners, Ernie, is always very accommodating, and friendly. The food never disappoints. Pear ravioli and fig ravioli, champagne risotto…

This is my second time at this restaurant and my last. Let’s start of with the $ 5.00 valet parking that NOT only is basically an open gravel and dirt solarium with no designated parking spots. Second, it was about 6:30pm when we got there– it was already dark, and if you haven’t been to this restaurant before, you enter through the back entrance. So to my second point, the lighting sucks!!! And you can barely see where you’re going. So, we were seated promptly by the owner or manager. The waiter was ok, if you’re not Hispanic you’re gonna have trouble understanding their heavy English accents. We ordered the shrimp nuggets and calamari. Not impressed but edible at least. I ordered the short rib pasta which was cooked well for pasta but what happened to the short rib? It was practically non existent. and the plate was so heavy and rich that it should have been balanced with some citrus and or a light salad on the side for texture. My boyfriend ordered the special. Which was hog snapper on a bed of flavorless rissotto. Which was still undercooked. And nothing fresh about the fish. It actually had an unpleasant smell when I tasted it. The wine was a whopping $ 55 a bottle which is ludicrous. We passed on dessert but had the cortadito which was good at least. When we get the bill I notice and automatic 18% gratuity. Ha! Are we in south beach? NO. We are off bird road and lejeune. Not even restaurants on miracle mile have this mandatory tipping. If you’re wondering about my first visit. I recall the food to be better but that was well over 2 years ago and we were a large group of 7 and we sat in their private room. And really, the only memorable thing I will take with me is that Mr. 305 was dining right behind us.

This was my second time coming here. I was hoping this experience would be better than the first… but that’s a negative. Unfortunately I find the food quite bland and lacking flavor. My brother in law raves about this place hence why we gave it another try. Had the carrot and ginger soup that need salt. I orderd the«special» which was supposed to be some fish pan seared with sundried tomatoes and some sauce with squid ink risotto. I asked for my fish to be grilled instead of pan seared. And I wanted veggies with my dish so I asked for asparagus. What I got was the most unflavorful piece of fish and bitter tasting asparagus and no risotto. My husband got the carbonara and he was it was blah. Meanwhile my brother in law raving about his dish. When the waiter finally appeared(he was the only server, place is small) I asked him about the sauce and sundried tomatoes and he said he thought I wanted a «clean/lean meal» because I asked for the fish to be grilled. I gave this restaurant 2 stars because the service was good up to that point. It was a duo birthday and they gave my daughter a «happy birthday» on the dessert but they didn’t do that to mine which my brother in law said he did tell the waiter. And he tried to redeem himself after we sang and brought me another dessert with a «happy birthday» but at that point we checked out and were done with this place. Never to return.

We just had dinner tonight at this Italian restaurant called Vialetto. My husband loves his spaghetti vongole, so he ordered that and so did I. The dish was without any flavor, very bland, the clams must have been frozen, no taste at all. I lived in Rome for a while and travel there every year, I know what good italian food should taste like., this restaurant failed at their attempt. When we asked for the manager, I believe in constructive criticism, he was kind of dismissive, saying in Spanish«para gusto se han hecho colores» in Other words, you may Not like it, but others will. Very ignorant, since I would like to know if the food served in my restaurant has a positive input by my clients. So far, in Miami, the best Italian food is at Carpaccio at Bal ha rbour.

Why a 5? BECAUSEITDESERVESIT. What an amazing meal. Where to begin… The Calamari was PERFECTION, lightly breaded and FRESH. We had the ‘pasta of the year’ and boy did they name right. That was the best shrimp with truffle oil pasta I’ve ever had. The FRESH, HOMEMADE buffalo meatball pasta in a red sause was delicious too. We finished with guava cheesecake OMG! BTW. did I mention HOMEMADEPASTA!!! :) As if all this wasn’t enough throw in Ernie’s outstanding hospitality. Cudos to Vialetto and Ernie for such an amazing jewel in the middle of town. Like Arnold said… I’ll be back.

Extremely disappointed with this restaurant. I went with my wife thinking we were going for good Italian food ! Very different ! It’s a great imitation of a good restaurant but very far from one !! The owner/manager was a Cuban pretending to be Italian, very funny, a true character. For appetizer we order a beef carpaccio which was Ok, not big deal ! We had a filled pasta(same one they serve in every wannabe Italian restaurant). For dessert, Tiramisu, basic. Wines only a few good wines, most of the wines are the ones you see at Costco or Sams, nothing special, except some rare Italian wines that you can’t even find in Google! This restaurant is not bad ! It’s ok ! Especially for Miami where you find lots of Latino’s that eat whatever they are serve. Suggestion for owners and cook, be more creative, don’t sell what every other restaurant does. Think outside Sysco !

Well let me start off by saying I really don’t understand the hype of this place, I was not impressed at all! From the moment I walked in, it smelled like Poop!(Someone else mentioned this in their review as well) And they tried to cover it up with floor cleaner, both of those smells did not mix well. That should have been my queue to run out of this place but since we were so starving we decided to stick it through(nasty I know lol). I asked one of the servers if there was a window they can open to vent and they said no, when they could have easily opened the back door. The owner walks around all the tables making small talk with all the guest but for some reason he kept passing by our table and not stopping, I felt as though maybe we were not welcomed, could be the fact that we were with small children. Our waiter was also not very hospitable. That was the least of my worries. The food was definitely not my cup of tea. We ordered a few items: some shrimp nuggets with guava on top, they were okay. Calamari, weren’t bad but thats something hard to mess up. The short rib croquetas: did not taste like short rib at all, i wasn’t a fan. For the entrees we ordered: lobster ravioli, which was mostly filled with lobster flavored creamed filling, not many lobster pieces. The short rib ravioli: highly doubt that was even short rib in there, i think it was more like shredded flank meat. The gnocchi was not bad, probably one of the best things we had. My friend got the short rib pasta which wasn’t too bad either, just the same issue with the meat. Overall I was not satisfied with my visit and I will not be returning.

The worst smell as soon as we entered. Smelled like toilet water. Had to leave. Also the outside looks like a shanty but the inside seems okay. Valet parking in the back — guy was nice. Won’t go back probably.

Amazing! This place is friendly. Service is top notch … And the food … Amazing! Wifey had the Miami Spice … Ravioli Trio followed by Chilean Sea Bass over Black Rissotto(WOW) … Nutella Panacotta for dessert. Exquisite! I thoroughly enjoyed malanga soup to start… followed by blackened salmon with a sweet plantain coconut sauce over champagne Rissotto(WHOA) … What The Funk for dessert. A truly amazing meal!

I’m definitely a fan. I thought the food at Caffee Vialetto was excellent. We received friendly and attentive service. The owner is also very visible and friendly. Thoughts on the dishes I tried: Complimentary bread — delicious and rustic, the bread tasted fresh baked. Great crusty exterior and soft interior. Calamari fra diablo appetizer — very good though not quite what I would call great. The flavors were solid and the calamari was wonderfully tender. Seafood & squid ink risotto — the best dish I tried. Wonderful flavors. The portion was also huge, which is a plus. Short rib pasta — a great dish. What stood out here for me was the quality of the pasta itself.

Really not sure why there were raving reviews on this place. There are so many better Italian restaurants in Miami. This meal was in fact one of the worst I had in Miami so far. Everything was poorly made, from appetizers all the way to desserts. Sauce were very heavy and salty, just not up to par at all. Ambiance was terrible too. Felt like I have totally wasted my time at this place.

Hidden well in Coral Gables, the way you do with your prize tennis bracelet, this restaurant never fails! Wonderfully faithful servers help the owners make your experience unforgettable! And the food… OMG delicious! For appeteizers we tried a new cream less mushroom soup that was delicious, then onto the ahi tostones. Grate start! Dinner course was left to our normal selections, Seared Tuna with a guava sauce complimented by champagne risotto for the Mister, and black ink Fruta di Mare for the Mrs… — we always have the same dishes cause we beleive«if it ain’t broke…» Our guest also had the Fruta di Mare but with a lobster bisque rissoto… I may order that next time, another stunning dish! Evening was finished off with the classic«Funk» dessert. All in all, my husband and I have come to the conclusion that there is no other restaurant in Coral Gables worthy of our pallets!

I alway seem to write reviews of the great places immediately. I guess it is the excitement of spreading the word to other Unilocalers that makes me want to act fast. Note to self-there are a few less than stellar places I am lagging on… Thanks to Benda P. for recommending this not so hidden gem to me. Brenda, This is a place I enjoyed for it’s varied menu and big & bold flavors. Do not come here if you like mild, wishy washy food. We started with a bang, the«Meat Candy»($ 13): braised bork belly in an apricot demi-glaze over four cheese polenta. Kapow! The sweetness of the glaze juxtaposed with the saltiness of the cheese polenta really worked and was just such an interesting flavor. Compared to that, the Meatballs($ 9) were good but a bit boring. My main was the Short Rib Paparadelle: homemade pasta, with shredded short rib, mozzerella, spinach, and truffle oil($ 27). The dish was such a bold burst of flavor! It was so rich I could barely eat half. I actually think the mozzerella was overkill. The meat and trufle oil make it rich and flavorful enough. Husband was very pleased with his Short Rib($ 38), braised and served over champagne risotto in a rosemary demi-glaze with veggies on the side. It was a huge piece, also very rich and flavorful. 10 year old ordered half an order of Gnocci and half an order of Lobster Ravioli. He was thrilled with every bite. 11 year old also had half an order of Gnocci, which he liked. He was not thrilled with his Short Rib Ravioli. I tried it, Trust me, it was delicious. We then ordered a half order of the Pear Ravioli for him because God forbid our child go hungy… he did not like that either. Of course I had to try that as well. The Pear Ravioli is more like a delicate cheese ravioli with a hint of sweetness to it. Yes, it’s deliciious but I guess 11 yeay old’s palette just cannot appreciate sophisticated food yet. On the other hand, if it were up to my 10 year old, we would be dining at 5 star resaturants every night… and we would be broke! And no wonder I could not finish much of my Paparadelle… I was too busy tasting everyone else’s food! Oh well, I will have yummy leftovers. Most of us were too full for dessert, but in an effort to please my chocolate loving 11 year old, I ordered the Chocolate Bomb for the table to share. However, a glitch occured and we did not get to eat much of it. I forgot that the Bomb had a Blueberyy Sauce. 11 year old hates blueberries and spit out his forkful on the cake, ruining what was left for the rest of us! Well, I guess we saved a few caloroes!(I know that sounds like a really obnoxious thing to do but this is actually the well mannered child!) Setvice was a bit spotty. Our server really had to be coaxed into describing some of the food for us. We waited ages for beverage refills and even longer for the check. Ernie, one of the owners, was lovely and truly tried to please. After hearing that my son was not happy he said he would make him anything he wanted. Ernie truly gives Caffee Vialetto that personal touch. I can definitely overlook some of the service lapses because I enjoyed the food so much and I can’t wait to return(no matter what my 11 year old says!)

I read both Claudia and Brenda’s reviews and knew right away this place needed a bookmark! So i finally headed over last night… errrrrrmagherrrrrd! The menu was full of some amazing options and I was left with my head spinning as to what to choose. I originally thought hands down I’d be trying the pear ravioli, but then I saw the risotto that had plantains and right then and there… It was love at first sight! I ordered a glass of wine, the Caribbean risotto and also the reccomended appetizer with the guava glaze… everything has such an amazing spin to it and I was soooo impressed. I’ve driven past this restaurant numerous times and had no idea what was hidden inside. Now that I know… its a danger cause this little din din wasn’t cheap. We were two chicks and ended up with a three digit bill in an hours time frame! Oh well… lol

I should have written this review back when I visited in 6÷4÷2013, although I still remember the taste of the delicious short rib pasta. My best recommendation for anyone that loves pasta, MUST have anything with short rib in it. There are several plates you can pick out with short rib, but I fell in love with the Short Rib Pappardelle. I still remember the name of it… because I read it of the photo just now. Now, I do remember the taste and this is top quality pasta. I’m sure everything on this Menu is exquisite! The service is perfect. had a middle table on a slow night for them, but served perfect from time between plates and even the pour of wine when glasses where almost empty. Top Notch! Valet Parking is friendly and not expensive. And it’s location feels hidden, which in my opinion feels like a hidden Gem. Tip, Make a reservation.
